Wil Mara's biographies are excellent read-alouds or read-alones for emergent readers as an introduction to the biography genre. Concise, large font text with only one-two sentences per page accompany photographs and lend a narrative feel, and the small size is perfect for little hands. In this book, a map is included detailing Amelia's around-the-world attempt.
