Well, I must say this is not a genre that I like - although well written, I hated the first book, liked the second better, and lapsed back into dislike on the third. The four stars are for author style, descriptive content, intricate plot, etc. As to the story line, I hated reading on the Kindle as I would surely have skipped to the last page after about half way through the first novel. This is the first book that I have read of Scott Nicholson--before this, I had never heard of him. I really enjoyed all three books even though I was able to predict the ending to the second book. I really like the ending of the 3rd book--The Skull Ring as it was sort of left open for another book to pick up where this one left off.

This is actually 3 different books. I enjoyed each of them. Fun, quick little mysteries. Crime Beat probably my favorite. Had an unpredicted twist at the end.
