First up: this book was unnecessary. I think it was a case of Miss Mead getting contracted for six books, but being done with the story by five. So she basically took what could have been about 50 pages of plot resolution and turned it into a 300 page book, where there's a lot of talk and internal monologues, but not much actually happens. Well, except for few stuff which anyone with half a brain could have seen coming two installments ago. And so: whereas book #5 turned out to be an elaborate set up story, this one was a stretched out resolution.

Maybe it was my skewed view, seeing the UF world through the eyes of a newbie, but back in 2008 when I started this series, I loved Mead's writing. Simple, but witty and with a surprisingly sympathetic main character. Over the course of the series though, the story deteriorated. Georgina lost her appeal, the secondaries became cardboard characters and the more I got to see of the world, the less it started making sense.

I should admit: there was one improvement compared to last book; this time around Mead didn't use blatant 'hints' to hit us over the head with it repeatedly. But the thing is: she didn't need to. Mead has a way of stating something and then elaborating on it excessively. So if you didn't get it initially, she'll make sure you got it after she spelled it out. Not only does that make me think she underestimates her audience's intelligence, it also doesn't shine a positive light on Georgina. Having your main character pick up on signals, elaborate on them constantly but not process the information, makes her look really stupid.
But, as becomes clearer throughout the story, Georgina's reason for being really slow on the uptake is not (only) because she's dim. It's because she's incredibly self absorbed.

This girl must be one of the most egocentric protagonist I have ever read about. And I wouldn't even mind, if the contrary "Georgina is an angel who always takes care of others"-message wasn't being shoved down out throats constantly. Throughout the story she thinks of herself first, others later and even 'the good' she does is immediately followed up by a hint for a compliment from either the reader or one of the other characters. Those same characters risk their lives to help her and through most of it Georgina remains apathetic and downright dismissive. But still the reader is expected to love her.

And so this concludes the last part of the Georgina show. In where the old Georgina -who ran from her mistakes, avoided confrontation, was self centered and got punished for it- turned into the new Georgina: who runs from her mistakes, avoids confrontation, is self centered and gets rewarded for it.

The first is that she is able to end a series perfectly. Whether it be ending an epic Young Adult series or an Urban Fantasy one, Mead knows exactly how to satisfy her readers after bringing them on a rollercoaster ride.

My four-star rating is more for the series in general, so take that as you will. Succubus Revealed is mostly a two-star book that contains a couple of heart-wrenching four-star scenes with five-star characters whom I've grown to love.

Georgina and Seth are just two souls out of billions and nothing unique, so why all the fuss? Because Hell doesn't lose souls? Big deal.

I don't like either of them, really. Georgina is just dumb (why be so shocked that you get betrayed? You know what demons are like and their loyalty is to Hell, not you) and both Georgina and Seth are assholes. All of the characters, including--no, especially--Doug and Roman because I can't see them acting the way they do considering how our two main characters have treated them, were off.

Nothing happened. Well, of course a few things happened, but the book had practically nothing to it. I almost regret buying the book because there was nothing in this book I didn't expect; all of it was visible from a mile away and so predictable. From the synopsis and my knowledge of Richelle Mead books, I could have saved myself the time and money and figured out what was going to happen myself.

But there were a few things I liked: Roman, Carter, Jerome, Seth's family (excluding Ian, an over-the-top hipster),... Pretty much everyone who wasn't named Georgina or Seth. There were a few moments here and there that made me giggle or go "aww..." The love Mead once put into her books used to be palpable and while most of that is now gone and has been gone since about the time Blood Promise was released, there are still the occasional moments where that love is back.

And this is it. This is the last Richelle Mead book I will ever read. Vampire Academy is finished, I never plan to read Bloodlines, and I gave up on Dark Swan a long time ago. I held out for Succubus Revealed just because it was the last book of the series and I wanted some closure. Now I have it. Later, Richelle. I'll always love the first Succubus book and the second and third books of Vampire Academy, but I can no longer call myself a fan of yours.

Before reading: Honestly, I'm only reading this book because it's the last one. If there were three or more books after it, I wouldn't bother. I recently fell out of love with Mead's books, though I will always have a special place for them because of the fun reading and inspiration they supplied me with. I didn't like Succubus Shadows and I doubt I'll feel any different when this comes out.(less)

And here we are... The End. Succubus Revealed is the last book in Richelle Mead's Georgina Kincaid series and I cannot begin to tell you how bittersweet reading this book felt. I wanted to hurry up and read it, yet slow down and savor the story. Ultimately I settled on "screw it, full speed ahead!" and read it in one seating.

We find Georgina working as a Santa's elf at a high-end Mall, far away from her former ideal job at her beloved bookstore, which she had to leave after what happened with Seth and Maddie. Ugh Maddie. Blech, do. not. like! But that's another rant for another time. Georgie's been ordered by Hell to transfer her succubus services to Las Vegas, but when she goes out there to scope out the scene, things seem a little too intentionally perfect. With Seth Mortenson's sister-in-law still ill with cancer in Seattle, this transfer is yet one more hurdle in their attempt to be with each other. Sweet cheesus will Georgie and Seth ever be able to be together?! You'll have your answer by the end of Succubus Revealed and I get sentimentally teary-eyed all over again just remembering it.

I did find some parts somewhat predictable, which made the beginning a little slow for me. The first half of the book was slow-moving, but by the middle, things start Happening with a capital H. Some readers probably have figured out several revelations that are hinted at in the last book, Succubus Shadows, but it is the raw emotions Ms. Mead is able to evoke that make this book so fantastic. I think Seth and Roman fans alike will be pleased with the outcome and with how things play out. The plot twists involving Jerome, Carter, and Roman separately are quite powerful. While I would have liked to have seen a few more things addressed, maybe a little more things flipped upside down in true Richelle Mead fashion, I was pleased with the way this ultimate love conquers all series was drawn to an end. The Georgina series will continue to be one of my favorites and I highly recommend it. They are very very sexy, highly emotional books, and I am glad Ms. Mead had this end in mind for Succubus Revealed. The Georgina Kincaid Series reading order:

I finally figured out the issue with the conclusion of Richelle Mead's series: the last book is not necessary. This is the problem I have with Mead. She starts off relatively good with her plot; the third and/or forth book being the strongest. Her stride begins to really diminish at the fifth book and she crashes and burns with the final book. One of my stand out favorites of the Georgina Kincaid series, SUCCUBUS REVEALED once again treads that thin line between wicked and sweet to create a fun, satisfying book that plays for the highest of stakes. Though I've missed a few books since the start of the series, and I had no difficulty jumping in with this installment, I don't think a brand new reader jumping in at book six could fully appreciate the complications that come with being a succubus with a heart of gold.

I totally saw that comming! 3.5 stars.
I agree with one of the girls who wrote that Richelle Mead knows how to finish series, but I guess that I'm kind of a "tuned" on her writing style so everything in this book was predictable. Also, some parts could have been shorter - too much talking about what happened and I don't remember that Georgie was so slow when it comes to figuring out devilish plots. She was annoyingly stupid sometimes.
Fun to read, but don't expect too much.

I’ve been postponing reading the final novel in this series because I just couldn’t bring myself to say goodbye to Georgina Kincaid. The ride has been fantastic, nearly every installment is a 5 star read however, like all good things it had to end sometime. But, boy what a way to go! Succubus Revealed sure wrapped things up with a bang! I never really picked up on the overall plot line of this series; Seth and Georgie’s on-again-off-again relationship has always been at the forefront but the significance of it never really hit me until this book. Their HEA not only exceeded my expectations but actually left me in awe. Well played Richelle Mead. Well played.

The opening chapters of this book start out like all of those that came before it. Georgina is given a new assignment from Hell which in this case means she’s being shipped to Vegas; yet another obstacle in her relationship with Seth. I didn’t really think much of it nor did Kincaid because it was pretty much status-quo that is, up until things just seemed a little too perfect. Roman, being the shit disturber that he is, encourages his roomie to look into her succubus contract. Again. This leads them to search for answers in the most unlikely of places: Seth. What they uncover shatters both of their worlds beyond repair. The time for playing ostrich is over; now that the truth is out, it can not be ignored.

I thought that Mead did a great job of gathering all of her characters together for one last hurrah. Aside from the bowling tournament which seemed a little ridiculous in my opinion (demons duking it out with strikes and spares, seriously?), I was happy to get some face time with each of them one last time. That’s the thing about this series, as much as I LOVE Georgie, I adore her friends almost just as much. Well, except Jerome. I enjoyed seeing Roman and Carter’s roles in Kincaid’s life come to fruition as well. Many other reviewers complained about the predictability of this book and I’m not sure if I just read the installments too far apart or if I was just too blind to see what was right in front of my nose but the big reveal caught me completely by surprise.

The main plot of Succubus Revealed is pretty straightforward so I won’t delve into it any further for fear of revealing too much. This series really is worth experiencing from beginning to end so I don’t want to ruin it for anyone. The audio versions are all the more satisfying thanks to Elisabeth Rodgers’ brilliant narration skills. Having listened to every one of these books I now find it hard to picture any other voice other than hers as Georgina Kincaid. Her performance as my favourite succubus is incredibly memorable and spellbinding.

Succubus Revealed is highly emotional, jaw-droopingly shocking and just plain fab. If you’re searching for a new series, you should make this one a priority.

Wow!! It was what I expected plus some!

Meh. Glad it's over. The more I think about the story the more annoyed I get.

One thing I still can't get over is the issue with Seth's soul darkening and lightening. His soul got darker when he cheated on Maddie because of the guilt? But it didn't darken when he cheated on Georgina with Maddie? Why because he felt no guilt? So how guilty you feel about something is what matters more than the action itself? This seems counter-intuitive seeing how plenty of sociopaths don't feel guilty in the slig...more

I'm listening to the audiobook and also have the paperback.

I'm so sad this series is over. But it was a perfect ending. Georgina find out more details about her contract that might be in her favor. In the meantime, she's offered a perfect job, surrounded by her favorite evil people and close to Seattle. It's too perfect for Roman though, so he starts researching things for her. Her and Sean also have ups and downs, with a down that looks like it might spell the end of their relationship forever....more

This is that kind of book that pulls at your heart strings. The kind of characters you root for to win at the end against the bad guys. Its the kind of book that makes the reader happy. Though the end is predictable (I know it is) it was still fulfilling, and seriously necessary. If the author had pulled a stunt of major horrible proportions I think mobs of angry as hell fans would have... Well, use your imagination, I would have been among those fans.

Everything builds up to this big climatic ending. Every question you could have possibly had is answered. Georgina and Seth mystery? Check. Contract mystery? Check. Erik dying mystery? Check. I felt completely satisfied after reading this book... Though I would most surely appreciate a spin-off series with some of the extra characters of the series (view spoiler)

It was just so good! How everything was resolved, how the book went down... I can't lie I truly loved it and I believe that it was a very fitting (though predictable) ending. I think the whole thing about being predictable it's just that that's how I wished the series to end, so that's why it was so wonderful. I don't even care that it was predictable.

This book seriously played with my emotions, and no matter how you think things are going to end up there is always that option that things may not end up how you want them to. It is the author's choice, and by the end of the book your happiness, and the happiness of your beloved characters, are ultimately in the author's hands.

I am just sad that it's over... I think I want to re read it again already. I was so into this world that it is just sad when a good series comes to an end. I will miss the characters, specially Georgina and her awesomeness.

What is truly wonderful about Richelle Mead's books is that no matter how crappy things get, no matter if it looks like no light can come out of the darkness, she always knows that her audience, at the end of the day, are just searching for a happily ever after. In this book, Georgina, is with Seth but there are a lot of problems. Seth’s sister-in-law is very sick and Seth has to take care of his brother’s children. Georgina has quit her job and now she’s working in a Mall as a Christmas elf. And, on top of all these, she’s wondering how Seth called her with her real name. At this point and out of the blue, Georgina takes a very sudden and mysterious reassignment, in Las Vegas.

Someone wants Georgina far away from Seattle and from Seth, but the question is who wants such a thing and why?

Georgina is one of my favorite female characters in an urban fantasy series. She’s smart and brave. Although she’s a person of Hell, she’s kind and she doesn’t deserve what’s happening to her. I like that she isn’t a whiner about her situation. She knows that she has a deal with the devil but she’s trying to do the best for everyone in her life. She loves very much Seth and she’s willing to do anything for him and for her beloved ones. She has suffer a lot in all these years of existence and I don’t think that she deserves such a punishment just because she was once unfaithful!

Seth is adorable as always and more kind than ever. He’s doing his best for his brother’s family and he’s very happy that he has Georgina with him. He’s willing to damn himself just for a few happy moments with her and I love him for that! In this book we can see something that every reader has understand in the previous book (I won’t say it here!) but it’s a very intense moment and I was thrilled to read such a scene!

As always, I loved some of the secondary characters! Charter and Roman are my favorites and they both have a major part in the development of the story! But, I’m sad that a situation with Roman stays unsolved. I like and all the other immortal friends of Georgina, Hugh, Cody and Peter, because every single one of them helped her when she was in need.

Another great story by Richelle Mead!! I am so sad that this wonderful series came to an end!!!

This book is bittersweet in so many ways. I realized as I finished listening to it on the commute home tonight, that there is no more Georgina and Seth. Over the course of the last five books, plus this one, i've come to enjoy them, and while I might have bitched and moaned in previous reviews about their behavior - there is something about them, that is so life like (well, as much as a succubus can be ;) )

Over the course of the last five books, plus this one, i've come to enjoy them, and while I might have bitched and moaned in previous reviews about their behavior - there is something about them, that is so life like (well, as much as a succubus can be ;) )

For most people who have been following the series, the conclusion probably came as no surprise and looking back through the previous books you can see hints that the author dropped to lead you to this final climax. But how we finally got there was the ride of a life-time. I don't remember the last time when I physically sat in my car for almost fifteen minutes after getting to work, because I HAD to hear what happened next. There were times where I laughed and many more where I nearly cried.

One thing that really drew me to this installment in the series was the development of the secondary characters. Sure, G&S were there in all their glory, but it was the smaller people who have appeared in all the other books and it was finally in this one that I came to know them more like people and less like characters on a page: the Mortensen girls (Morgan and Makenna especially); Peter and Cody; Hugh (the imp that he is) and the new characters that were introduced - Seth's mom and brother (although I definately had a few WTF moments with Ian at times).

I'll look back on these books in the future (and who knows, maybe even fit in a re-listen) and hope that Ms. Mead will eventually take up back to the world of Georgina and Seth, be it Seattle, or wherever they might. Even just a visit would be nice. I want to know what happened to Roman (if we ever will) and find more out about Carter - maybe the next person he is there to save will be the basis of another series (pretty please). All I can say is that Ms. Mead is definately going on my auto buy list in the future (at least for her adult titles - YA i'm not so sure about yet). Luckily, I still have her Dark Swan series to check out.(less)

After a rocky start to the series (I gave the first book quite a scathing review), I've really grown attached to the story and characters. Carter has always been a favorite of mine, and I liked him even more after finishing this book.

OK so the series is over. Was it any big surprise? No.

I have loved this series up until this end but for what it was & considering that it's a Mead book (so if you're familiar w/her other work you'll know she is very formulaic & also blatantly rips ideas & actual verbiage from cult pop culture), it was a decent ending with no real shockers. However, I enjoyed it as a whole & think it'll be better on 2nd read as a guilty pleasure b'c it's certainly no Gone With the Wind.

EPIC.

There was so much that I loved about this book. While there was some things left, like what happened with Roman, for which I hope she does a spinoff, but everything else was pretty much solved.
I do wish we could have seen more of specific people (Bastien, Yasmine, I wish we had seen Vincent)but overall, I felt everything clicked into place.

Awww, WOW! This was just the perfect ending for this magnificent series. I had a mind-blowing experience with it and I'm just sad it's all over but at the same time I'm overjoyed because things couldn't have ended any better. This series was a terrific ride and every book was SO worth my time. This author can do no wrong, I am now completely sure of this. I also believe she desperately needs a new adults series because she does so much better with this genre than YA...
