pertama kali tertarik baca buku ini krn covernya manis dan sinopsis nya bagus...belum lagi ceritanya yg tentang barrister..beda dengan HR biasa...
bagi yg belom tau, barrister itu semacam pengacara zaman HR dimana seorg barrister biasanya lulusan oxford...

cerita dimulai dari heroine kita, Lady Evelyn Darlington yg datang diam2 ke persidangan our hero, jack harding buat mencari bantuan. lady evelyn berniat menyewa jasa jack untuk mewakili calon tunangannya mr. randolph something (gak inget namanya

In The Barrister's Chamber introduces Jack Harding -- perhaps the best defense lawyer of his generation. As a young man, Jack never showed any inclination towards the study of law or for any study, for that matter -- but, after studying under Emmanuel Darlington, Jack found his calling. He is smart, successful and well-received in Polite Society -- all the things that Jack has worked towards accomplishing. He has decided that a wife and a family would be needless complications in the well-oiled ...more

This was on a recommended list and the first page sample was the best part of a disappointing novel. I wish the whole book( and yes I did finish it because I kept waiting for it to improve) was as intriguing as that sample. The guilty party was too easy to predict, the main characters never became anyone I cared about and the supposedly intelligent main character never used her brains to help figure out how to help her supposed fiance. Parts of the book sounded like they were written by a histor ...more

When Lady Evelyn Darlington’s fiancé, Randol[h is accused of murder, she turns to Jack Harding for help. Jack Harding was once her father’s (Her father is a law professor.) pupil, but is now a famous lawyer in his own right. Although Evelyn used to worship Jack when she was young, they no longer keep in touch after Evelyn’s family moved. With his brilliant track record, Evelyn is hoping that Jack can defend Ran

Evelyn finds herself in hot water trying to clear her "betrothed" name, along side of Jack who was her crush when she was just a child. The more time Evelyn spends with Jack the more she gets close to losing her heart to him.

This is a romantic-mystery novel. It was interesting to read about the judicial system during the Regenecy period

Tina Gabrielle has created convincing three dimensional characters in her book In the Barrister's Chambers. The characters speak, act and seem to feel the way a real person would in a similar situation. The plot has many twists and turns that keep you riveted to your seat and turning pages to see what happens next.

Lady Evelyn Darlington loves the law. After all she was raised by her widowed father who was a professor at Inns of Court that took pupils under his wing for tutelage. One such pupil w

In The Barrister's Chambers was definitely a delight to read. It had an engaging storyline along with murder intrigue that kept me guessing until the end. There is also great character development. I enjoyed getting to know both Jack and Evelyn as they were very likeable characters. They are folks that I'd have enjoyed getting to know in real life. As for Randolph, he's not an unlikeable character by any means but I would definitely agree wi

Lady Evelyn Darlington knows law. She’s been reading her father’s law books for years. When she was twelve years old, she had a tremendous crush on Jack Harding, one of her father’s best law students. Being a precocious, charming, intelligent little girl, she’d done all she could to gain his attention, even learning Latin verbs as well as studying law books with even more fervor. Now ten years later, she watches Jack in court and know

I love the Regency period with all of its rakes and hellions. There's something about reading about spunky heroines taming the wild men of Society that's so appealing. This was my first barrister though and, I'll have to admit, I wasn't sure I'd like a lawyer hero at first.

I was so wrong! Gabrielle has created a whole new image of barristers in my mind with this novel. Jack Harding is hot and seductive and hot and intelligent and hot...did I mention hot? :) I also enjoyed the spunky Lady Evelyn
I was listening the original soundtracks of Kiss of the Damned when I finished this romance book. Well, it was very refreshing~

Reading a book is like ransacking someone else's brain, and the truth will turn out to be the imagines pictured in your own mind.

A strange love that began in the early nineteenth-century court rooms, developed in the fish markets and taverns, finally distilled in the mausoleum with odd tombstones and sliver moonlight. A little peculiar but not bad.

An interesting start to a series. While I did like the first book in the Barrister's series I wasn't overly satisified with the hero, for me there was something I couldn't quite figure out with his character to let the heroine pretty much make him do what she wanted. He was portrayed as a strong demanding male but caved when she asked him to do anything for her with very little argument.
I think that at least two of the other three barristers have the potential for real good stories, not sure ab
I was in my local Barnes and Nobel and Tina Gabrielle was there signing books. SO I absolutely HAD to get one and I found out she lives near me! Awesomeness! Anyway, I devoured this book. I loved how strong and intelligent the heroine is in this and how the hero isn't just accepting of her brains but loves her more for them! The mystery in this book was, to be honest, the best I've read in a romance in a VERY long time. I didn't guess who the killer at all, I couldn't. They all looked guilty. I ...more

In the Barrister's Chambers was a page turner from beginning to end. Hero Jack Harding took my breath away, just as he did Evelyn Darlington's. After reading Lady of Scandal, I was anxious to read another one of Tina's Regency titles...and this one surely does not disappoint! Tina gives away just enough to tease the reader, and keep her on the edge of her seat. I had a lot of fun being "seduced" by Jack Harding, as well as guessing the identity of the infamous killer.

In the Barrister's Chamber
If this romance novel were a food, it is so bland you'd be dying for a dab of Tabasco. So, the back cover first claimed that this heroine is bent on becoming a lawyer, despite the odds and the men's mockery on her pursuit. Yet, sadly, her only pursuit here is the lawyer himself! Almost the whole book is about her chasing him, well, coyly in a way if you ask me. She has REASONS to come to him ok? Well, at last, we got to the highlight of this whole scenario: Yes! IT happened IN THE BARRISTER'S CH ...more

I never could finish this book. I really like the premise and LOVE historical romances with non-aristocratic heroes. However, the heroine is supposed to be smart and scholarly and just never came across like that to me. Also, I couldn't get over the massive conflict of interest the hero has with the accused. Maybe the guy was guilty and that's supposed to make me feel better about Jack's conflict on interest, but I couldn't finish enough of the book to find out.
I don't know why I keep trying to read romance novels. I never finish them. Usually it's because they get so steamy, but in this one I never even got that far. This was a case of a book taking itself way too seriously. I realize that the incredibly dramatic tone is a convention in romance novels but that doesn't make it any more boring.
A perfect mix of romance and intrigue. The "hero" being a lawyer lends an interesting aspect to this Regency romance.

Tina Gabrielle delivers again! Thoroughly enjoyable read with a strong and intelligent heroine. This well written and researched Regency romance offers a good murder/mystery plotline as well. Jack Harding sizzles, Lady Evelyn tantalizes, and the passionate romance comes to life. Highly recommended!
The author loves legal history and romance. I wish she had done more to describe trials during the 1800s. The scenes in the Old Bailey are the most compelling in the book, but they are not essential to the plot. I think this book could have been a lot better.
i recieved this book from winning a giveaway and i was truely blessed to recieve this book. I LOVED this book SOOO much. mixing law and love was a brilliant idea. all of my favorite things in one book; love, england, and law :) Bravo. :)
