I wasn't impressed by this. The way Katie was obsessed with her relationship with Isaac turned me off. She is always eager to please him so they can be the perfect boyfriend and girlfriend, and throughout the entire book, she insists that she wants to stay with him even though she clearly knows that she has feelings for her friend, Mitch. I found it irritating that she only wants to stay with Issac, because he's her first love, and she doesn't want to ruin the perfect future she has planned for...more
The Locket must be the sweetest time-travel book out there!
Some will say it was a total cliché but it had so many twists so you never know what will happen next and you can't wait to see which guy will Kate pick. Will it be Isaac or Mitch? The story will just suck you right in. And let me tell you there were a few huge shockers.
While reading, the book went from 3 to 4 until at the end it reached 5 stars. Those people who know me can tell I don't give 5 star rating unless I really loved it(read o...more

Do Over! Who hasn’t done something they regretted and then wished they could turn back the clock for a do over? Katie’s magical locket gives her the ultimate do over opportunity.

THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING!!! I couldn't put it down.
The book starts off plunging you immediately into the story. There's no bs-ing, fooling around, or some kind of get to know period. No, it's BAM, this is happening now, here we go.
The characters are really interesting and they all have depth. Katie, the main character, can be kind of dumb sometimes, but I looked past it because this is a book about figuring out your mistakes. She made plenty of them, but she realized that there was something else...more

This has got to be one of my favorite reads of 2011. Frankly, I think the plot is a little clichéd, but I so love how the story was executed. The summary provides the readers the idea on how the story is going to play out. The Locket begins on Katie’s birthday, October 10. Exactly two weeks after she cheated on Isaac. Katie still feels guilty about it, but she just tells herself to forget about it because it was a mistake and it will never happen again. While she is preparing...more

The Locket by Stacey Jay focused its plot on a locket that can let people time travel. Katie, who was the lucky girl that found the locket, was thrilled when she found out about its magic. Since her life was perfect with her boyfriend, Isaac, until she kissed their mutual best friend Mitch. Although the locket helped her to travel back in time to fix her mistakes and make her life perfect again, little changes that happened here and there turned out to be disastrous.

I wasn't supposed to read this book until 9th March, the day my exam ends. But I couldn't resist it and took a peek... and ended up finishing the whole book in 2 days. Which explains why I'm writing this review now. I want to share the good news - I really like it!
At first, the locket sounded like a great gift from God - it enabled Katie to travel back in time and fix the mistake she made two weeks ago, that was cheating on her boyfriend Isaac by kissing her best friend Mitch. And I bet you know...more

I have read each one of Stacey Jay's previous books and have adored all of them! The Locket is no exception and although I love her Undead series, I have to say that this is my favorite book of hers to date. The whole idea of being able to fix mistakes that seriously ruined your life is something that i'm sure we all would love. I have had my few share of slip-ups or boo-boo's that I made and I felt horrible afterward. Katie feels exactly the same way when she ruins her seemingly perfect life pl...more
What would you do if you could travel back in time and change something you wish could be done again? Would you change it, or would you leave it as part of the past?
Katie finds out that having a way to travel back in time through a locket, might just be her chance to fix a mistake and keep her life perfect. What Katie doesn't realize at first is that changing the past also changes the future of others. When Katie travels back into the past she finds that not only can she change that one mistake,...more

Haven't we all regreted a moment in time and wish we could erase the moment? And if we could what would be the consquences, would it be a simple as undoing it, or will it alter other things? Katie makes a huge mistake ( at least she thinks it will ruin her life) and when exposed, she discovers a pretty locket and this jewelry changes everything and more. I found this story to be more about undoing mistakes, redeeming one self and more about just because you have always done the thing expected of...more
The Locket is a story about mistakes and what you would or wouldn't do to correct them. What if you could go back in time and pretend like your biggest mistake never happened? Would you relive all of those moments again and risk changing the lives of those around you to get a second chance?
That's exactly what happens with Katie. One minute she's at a party with her best friend and the next she's making the biggest mistake of her life. When she's given the opportunity to undo her mistake and cha...more

The Locket is a book I got and forgot about, it wasn't until I was going through my 'to reads' I realised and picked it up. Read in 1 sitting I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I'll be honest and say it wasn't what I was expecting - but then again I'd not read the synopsis at all and went just by the cover (Something I often like to do).
The book follows Katie a really likeable character who in every sense of the word is human. In that I mean she has made mistakes and is trying to 'right' them. The...more

In The Locket by Stacey Jay, Katie makes a huge mistake that ultimately ends her relationship with her boyfriend Isaac. Prior to this she finds a locket that belongs to her grandmother and once she starts to wish to take back her mistakes she gets to go back in time and have a second chance. However, this is not without consequences.

I really enjoyed this one! It was creative and original and took a lot of turns I didn't expect.
This book begins with Katie agonizing over the fact that she cheated on her boyfriend, Isaac, with their mutual best friend, Mitch. As she's desperately wishing she could take it back, she finds a locket that lets her do just that.

This book was a slight chick flick, but with a time travel element. It was quite good. I find myself giving high, high ratings to a great deal of books, but this one was amazing, and deserves it. This book captures many genres, and therefore many audiences. I would highly recommend this book.

To my surprise this book was really great. Usually I'm no fan of "time-travel" books, due to the fact that they tend to be nerdy and totally unrealistic, but this was definitely an exception. It was an easy read and fast-paced...I zipped through it in a couple of days-but it wasn't a bad thing. The Locket always kept me close enough to the edge of my seat. By the time I really got into, I couldn't put it down.

This book was a total metaphorical impulse buy for me. I was checking in new books and getting them ready for display, and the somewhat-cheesy cover caught my eye. So, you know, I toted it home and added it to my stack of library books. Last week, when I was sorting through my pile of books by Big! Name! Authors! Of YA and books that deal with Serious! Issues!, I was drawn to The Locket because it seemed a little lighter. And you know what? I was right.

The Prologue was a bit confusing but they always are. So I continued. The story caught my interest from first page itself. I have always been a fan of love triangle so when I sensed it's coming it piqued my interest more. I loved the characters Katie and Mitch. The plot was amazing and kept me on my toes all the time. I actually finished this book in 4 hours which is truly saying something for me.

The Locket is a story about making changes to a past that you did not like and then realizing the consequences in history of those actions thereafter. I enjoyed the main character Kate and thought also about going back in time to change something. Can changing one mistake lead to a host of others? Did we really like the outcome of the whole affair? Were these mistakes that needed changing fine to begin with?

I loved it! I absolutely love books about time travel and parallel universes. I loved how I thought I had it figured out and it surprised me. I had a general idea of what was going to happen and it did, but it still had twists and turns.

Wow, this book was an intense roller-coaster ride. From the first chapter, all the way to the last, I was racing through trying to figure out what happens, hoping and praying everything turns out okay. I thought I had it pegged multiple times only to be proved wrong, yet again, that I had it wrong. This book was so frustrating I was almost to the point of throwing it at the wall--or out the window if I could get it open. But that doesn't mean it was bad; the frustration kept me reading in the ho...more

If you love teenage drama
Katie is so immature. Just 17 years and already think about marriage and children? Oi, I just think about it when I'm in my twenties, and when my boyfriend try to propose me 2-3 years ago (and tak about kids), I'm freak out, lol!
The idea actually is unique. Alas, the teenage drama and angst, also how I want to smack Katie over and over and brand "STUPID" word in her forehead make me can't enjoy it as I do.
Duh, if Isaac want to break up with you, let him do it, Katie! There's so many hot guys out...more

I enjoyed this, though I didn't feel that it rose above the many other books just like it. I called all of the major plot points well before they were revealed, but still enjoyed the ride. I think it would have been more interesting if the ugly repercussions of the Locket's power had stemmed from the changes Katie was making, rather than just making random changes to the world. Gimme a Call has a similar theme of changing your previous mistakes, but I felt that the problems that arose in that bo...more
