Austin thinks driving a 1989 Geo Spectrum fourteen hundred miles in the middle of winter is a bad idea. But he would never forgive himself if the man he loved, Zach Roth, got himself killed in Idaho, so he agrees to go.

Besides, he has something to prove. He wants Zach to know it's more than just Zach’s deliciously wicked body he adores. And if it ta

A fun and hellish road-trip with mishaps and chaos along the way testing Austin's patience who isn't exactly thrilled with the Geo Spectrum he is forced to travel in. I thought it was a great adventure and the perfect opportunity for Zach to face up to his fears and work on resolving some of his insecurities about Austin. Austin does finally get it, he needs to keep his temper in check, its one of the major sticking points for Zach who isn't willing to take that final step and move in w
Zachary Roth is going to his parents' home in Boulder, Colorado for Hanukkah. He is taking his boyfriend of six month, mechanic Austin Jenker, with him to meet the family for the first time. Zach's method of transportation is a 1989 Geo Spectrum, and it makes Austin a bit pissy. But Austin will never forgive himself if Zach is killed driving the Spectrum in the middle of winter from Seattle to Boulder. Soon though, the two men realize that this road-trip will be more intense than anything they h ...more

This was an awesome Hanukkah road trip story, as unlikely as that sounds. It isn't often that I come across books with Jewish content that rings true to me. Here, Astrid Amara did a great job blending religion with adventure and sexiness, which is amazingly difficult to do.

I loved the two MCs. The author did such a fab job describing them that I felt like I could picture them clearly in my mind. They had very well developed personalities for this being only a novella. Astrid Amara really did a

I'm sure that if I had read it in December, it would have had one star more.

With an extra bonus for a Hanukkah!

But it's raining outside and I, good known for being picky and moody, found it fewer impressing than it could be under those circumstances, though still sweet and warm fuzzy in the most popular MM-romance way.

A short nice road trip story with some unpleasant encounter that ended though good(HOW COULD IT BE NOT?!), with likeable characters, sexual tension, steamy action and a candy HEA
Another well written interesting story from Astrid Amara.

First and foremost we have the wonderful romance between Zach and Austin. My heart belonged to Austin I must admit. Although there is a wonderfully emotional scene near the end from Zach that had me tearing up but in a good way lol.

There is a touch of suspense that again adds to the story without taking it over. In my opinion its handled perfectly, being both detailed enough without dragging things out.

I do have a comment for Zachs mum t

Great novella! Loved the characters, loved the writing and loved the charming story!

I would recommend this one to anyone looking for a solid romance that has a great balance of sweet vs heat and very little angst/drama.

Zach needs to deliver his grandmother's car to her new home in Colorado. He's invited his relatively new boyfriend of six months along for the ride. Austin wants to move their relationship to the next level and get a place together but Zach is worried that they're moving too fast. He's hoping that the road trip will help iron out his concerns regarding Austin's hot temper and help him to make the right decision.

OMG. This is the road trip from hell. These two go through just about anything you c

Love road trips and love Astrid Amara! Really good chemistry betweeen Austin and Zach. I teared up bit towards the end when they finally realize how they truly feel for each other. Sweet, sexy and fun adventure! 4.5 stars

Family duty has led to Zach agreeing to drive his Grandmother’s ancient car over a thousand miles across country to her new home near Zach’s parents. Austin, Zach’s mechanic boyfriend isn’t too impressed with the rustbucket, especially when it blows a gasket and strands them in Idaho. It turns out that a car needing repair is the least of their worries on this trip, leading to the pair having to face up to where their relationship is heading.

I love road movies and books and so when I saw this on

4.5 stars. Very good m/m romance about two guys driving a 1989 Geo from Seattle to drop off in Boulder, hoping to get there for part of Hanukkah, until the drive turns into the roadtrip from hell.
A solid 4 stars for this, the road trip from hell. What could go wrong DID go wrong, including being held up by a violent escapee from the local penitentiary. How Austin kept his temper (most of the time) while Zach went through all the bad stuff that was thrown at them as if it was a huge adventure, was quite frankly amazing and I'm POSITIVE I would have throttled him during the trip.

I love this author's contemporary romances. This book is no exception. This couple have been together already for 6 months and while I usually like seeing the 'beginning' of relationships in romance novels, this story wraps you up in the building love and uncertainty that the 2 men feel about each other as their relationship progresses to that next level... or not! The 'road trip' plot is fraught with setbacks and the various side characters/villians they meet along the way all contribute to swa ...more
Short and sweet with a perfect amount of everything: insecurities, angst, sex, all around cuteness and family reunion (I hate really long ones with gazillion children) :D

I really enjoyed this short story. Austin and Zach have been together for a while. Austin would like for the two of them to move in together, but Zach doesn't seem to want to take this step. He has been in a few relatonships that bordered on abuse and he is afraid of taking the wrong decision. Even if Austin has a temper, Zach can see how cherished he is by his lover. The long trip they take to deliver Zach's grandma's car to her will force them to know their lover better and to overcome the dou ...more

This story packed a lot in for such a relatively short novella, and wins points for being a road trip in a granny car with crocheted seat covers! Austin and Zach were both interesting individuals with great chemistry and there was enough conflict and excitement in the plot to keep me turning the pages quickly. This was my first read of Astrid Amara's work, but I'll definitely read more from her in the future. Recommended to anyone who enjoys sweet and sexy contemporary m/m romances.

Austin is a hunky, 6'5"/240 lbs., mechanic who won't back down in a fight. While Austin admittedly is quick to anger, he is completely smitten with and a teddy-bear for his BF, Zach. Zach is a 30-year-old twink who's a city-planner; he's a nerdy, bibliophile who has fallen hard for Austin.

It's the start of Hanukkah and Austin and Zach hop into Austin's grandmother's 1989 Geo Spectrum for a fourteen hundred mile road trip from Seattle to Boulder. The road trip is a cons

My first Hanukkah story! If I'd been thinking, I'd have saved this one for December, but oh well. If you can have Christmas in July then I guess you can have Hanukkah in July, too!

A cute story about two guys, a road trip, a hand full of disasters, and meeting the folks for the first time. Zach's got some clearly defined issues about the relationship, which he's able to work out over the course of the story. Austin has a few issues, too, which he's willing to work on keep Zach. This was really adorable and fun! It's a very easy read - I had an EXTREMELY quiet shift day at work, so pulled my Kindle out of my handbag and managed to read the whole story by the end of my shift. I wasn't being lazy, I swear. But when you work mid-week shifts at a museum and have zero people walking through the door, you'd bring your Kindle to work too ;)

This story is such a great pick-me-up and just a really cute holiday romance. It made me chuckle and put a nice big smile on my face. Ther

This was an adventure of a road trip for Zach and Austin. In between all the fun, scary and horrific things that happened on the trip, Zach has a serious decision to make. He's a little stuck in the past which makes it hard for him to move foward in his relationship with Austin. The sheer number of things that happened to the two men on their trip was incredible but then it's a fictional Christmas story and I don't really need it to be believable!
An entertaining holiday-road-trip story with very well played opposites attract theme. The dialogue was believable, the characters three dimensional and easy to understand and like, the sex smoking and the romance still in its vulnerable stages.

I’m still catching up on all the holiday stories in my queue and this fun, adorable story jumps out. The writing is very good and the emotion is clearly translated through the men, their relationship, the struggles, and the quiet moments. There is hot sex and a lot of it but it also feels like the story is tempered and doesn’t need to include every single scene. I liked that balance and it helps create a more interesting dynamic within the relationship. The story is a bit over the top but never ...more

This is a sweet story involving a small Jewish city planner named Zach, a large non-Jewish mechanic named Austin, and a road trip from Hell that takes place during Hanukkah. Zach and Austin are at that stage where things are getting serious, but Zach has had bad experiences in the past and he's afraid to trust himself or Austin. Austin has asked Zach to move in with him several times, but Zach keeps begging off. He knows that Austin has a short temper; and although he tends towards large men for ...more

Zach and Austin have been dating for a while and Austin wants him to move in. Zach has had some bad dating experiences and is leery but decides that a road trip might be just the thing to see if they are compatible and also means he can deliver his Grandmother's car to Denver. Austin is NOT thrilled given the age of the car, plus it's winter as they are going to celebrate Hanukkah with Zach's family. And really, everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. LOVE this story! Zach and Austin were on a road trip, in Zach's Bubbie's old car, on their way to Zach's parents house to celebrate Hanukkah. In less than ten days they experienced bad weather, robberies, blown gasket, got in an almost-fight, run-ins with police, some questionably funky smell motels, and of course hawt sex, before finally reaching their destination.

Told from Zach's and Austion's pov by turn, to better glimpse of both thoughts and reservations of each other despite of how they fe
Well written novella with interesting and sympathetic characters. IMHO it would have benefited from being just that little bit longer in order to flesh out Austin's back story. Enough was hinted at that I wanted to know more.
