My 9 year old daughter read this book to me. We enjoyed it very much. She liked that the dogs got rescued and taken care of. I liked that the dogs helped the soldiers to feel better when they were sad. My daughter learned some new vocabulary words and some things about the military and how to pronounce sergeant. I like the glossary at the end of the book. This is a great well-written and illustrated book and we are going to read some other books in this series as well.

Heartwarming stories of dogs friended by American soldiers in Iraq and their efforts to send the dogs to America to live with the soldiers after their tour ends. Nice to pair with Nubs: The True Story of a Mutt, a Marine, and a Miracle.
