I was intrigued to read Conspiracy 365. The series was recommended to me by my friend who is a huge fan. Being me, I took up the recommendation and tried it out.

This didn't necessarily disappoint me. It more like made me feel empty, this book's most horrid flaw was its depth. Yeah okay it was full of mystery, suspense and thriller but it didn't make me feel moved or intrigued at all. I felt like I was r...more
The book I decided to do my book talk on is called January and is in the Conspiracy 365 series. There were a lot of things in this book that was different from other books, for one thing, this book was written backwards, starting at page 185 and ending at page 1. Another thing that this books has that SOME other books have is that it show the time and date in the book, almost like a diary. What this book is about is that the main character, Callum Ormond (Cal), meets a man staggering down the s...more

An Adventure/Detective Story
The Storyline:
The Plot In My Words (Spoiler Alert!)

This dramatic, emotional, gripping, action-packed book starts with the main character, Callum Ormond, being chased down his street by a crazed old man who warns him:
"They killed your father.
They'll kill you.
You must survive the next 365 days..."
And as the plot thickens, the mystery of the Ormond Singularity hangs in the air. Callum's boat is sabotaged and he barely escapes death...more

Callum Ormond is confronted on New Year's Eve by a crazy guy on the street who has a strange warning:

They killed your father.
They'll kill you.
You must survive the next 365 days.

When Cal is accused of a terrible crime he didn't commit, Cal is forced into hiding. On the run, Cal must survive the next 365 days if he ever wants to see his family again.

I am just going to keep this brief. I have read this book twice before and I think it gets worse and worse every time I read it.

The simpl...more

Conspiracy 365 launches the first in a 12-part series with January. The story sees a 15-year-old Callum Ormond warned that he must survive the next 12 months in which various groups will try to kill him.

The concept introduces some fun ideas. The month-by-month serialisation is most likely a novelty, but the countdown after each date (362 days to go, etc.) adds to the air of urgency. The fact the page numbers count down to 1 is fun, and overall a lot of effort has been put into give a feeling of...more
This is great idea for a series! A new book is scheduled for release every month this year. The month-named titles will prevent any confusion about what order in which they should be read.

It is a fast, plot-driven read that I think will appeal particularly to younger teen and pre-teen boys. The cover of the book lets you know that you are in for an action movie in book form...

...The chapters are time stamped, and while I understand the desire to break the book up in to short sections for relucta...more
I'd definitely recommend this series for approx 11-14 year old boys. It was recommended to me by my 12 year old son. It's a fast pace and exciting book, especially since the dates and page numbers are like a countdown. The series seems to really be one big book divided into small books for each month. I can understand the thinking behind this, as one really long book would probably be off putting to the target market, however, personally I'd rather just have it as one book.
This book/ series is all that I expected it to be and then some. This series starts on New Year's Eve. Callum Ormond is a normal 15 year-old dealing with the sudden death of his father when he's approached by a wild-eyed man who warns him that he must hide out until the end of December or "they" will get him too. All of a sudden very dangerous accidents begin to happen to him. So begins the adventure; Callum becomes a fugitive in hiding as he searches for the answer to the few clues his father w...more
This Serial Novel is awesome. A must read!! As far as genre, it is a mix between 24 and Davinci Code. 15 yr old, Callum, must survive for 365 days, all the while trying to solve his dad's death and a family secret that sounds like it has the potential to make his family rich.

I would say as far as level or would begin with some 5th graders going up. I read it in about 2 hours. Easy, quick read but when I finished I was very anxious and eager for the next book. This leaves you hangi...more

This adventure book was good. I liked it. I am going to read the next one in the series. Will Cal ever figure out who is hunting him down? Will he figure why they are chasing him? Will Cal figure out what really happened to his dad? There are 12 books and I hope I find out a few answers before I get to the last one. I think sixth grade boys would really like this series.

i think this book was good. it was action packed. cal has 365 days to save his family. cal survives a boat crash.
I think if I were a teenager I'd probably find this book very exciting. As an adult, it was okay and had some parts that got me interested in the mystery but as one thing after another happened, it started to seem repetitive to me. Mostly, I expected there to be some kind of "wrap-up" at the end of this book even though it's a series of 13 books total. Instead it's a big cliffhanger at the end rather than the book standing on its own if you didn't really want to read any of the other books. So i...more

“ Go into hiding for 365 days starting midnight December 31st this year. You are not safe anymore, Cal.” Have you ever been told something like this? I Doubt it! That is why Gabrielle Lords book Conspiracy 365: January is so riveting and entertaining with the unexpected turns and surprises.

This book is about Callum Ormond a 14 year old boy whose life is suddenly flipped upside down and backwards when he is told he is in great danger. He soon becomes aware of something having to do with him and...more
I really like the conspiracy 365 series,i started reading the first book and really enjoy. This dramatic, emotional, gripping, action-packed book starts with the main character, Callum Ormond, being chased down his street by a crazed old man who warns him:

I think this book has to be one the best. It was detailed, action-packed, and always kept me on the edge of my seat. It all starts out with a 15 year old boy named Callum. He was roaming the streets on New Years Eve when suddenly he spots a figure running towards him. This so called "figure" is an older, sick man. "365 days left Callum!" He shouts. "Don't let them kill you like they killed your father!" The next day Callum experiences a series of tragic events. He starts to wonder if will life e...more

"Conspiracy 365: January" by Gabrielle Lord is an astonishing book about a teenage boy has to live a life of crime. Teenager Callum Ormond has a lot on his plate as he runs from the cops. Cal's father had died from a brain virus, and he couldn't talk or write words, so he had to communicate with drawings. Plus Cal's uncle (his dads identical twin) is trying to run the family like Cal's father would. Also his uncle is keeping a secret from them.
I enjoyed this book and I would encourage others to...more

January, is a fast paced, quick read. I went through it in mere hours. It is not a self-contained book. Rather, a part one of a 12 part series. I get the feeling it was designed for television audiences rather than the traditional book reader.

I did like it and will complete the series, but it really isn't much to write home about. If you like simple prose leaving much to the imagination, like J. K. Rowling's writing, then you'll feel comfortable with this book. Clearly written either for a young...more
Conspiracy 365 January starts the book off with a boy who lives a normal life with his sister and mother. The only thing is that his father dies and his fathers twin moves in. strange thing start to happen to him. As days go he get more and more clues. On the way to figuring out what is happening to him and his family, he meets good and bad people.
I love this series. Its full of action and suspense and mystery. Once you think you know, it the complete opposite. I was in to these books that I re...more

Honestly, this was the best books I've ever read. I've never read a book like this before, but I really like it. This book starts off with Cal, the main character, is walking in the streets and suddenly this crazy guy starts chasing after him. The ambulance finally shows up and takes him to the hospital and whirl he is being dragged away he tells Cal that for the next 365 days, he will be in great danger. The very next day he almost gets attacked by a shark, then the next day his house gets rob...more
I don't often score one star but I found this book to lack subtlety, originality and it was really irritating.

First, major, flaw was that it didn't end. I find that lacking in imagination. You can end one story while keeping alive the possibly of another. I also found the writing to be too simple and repetitive. It lacked description to make the 'action' scenes plausible. The characters were unbelievable - acting irrationally just to suit the storyline.

The concept of the book is for young teen...more

I thought this book was awsome. It is an action and adventure book, one of the best I have ever read.In this book, Cal is approached by a very sick man that tells him, they killed your father, they will kill you. Hide for the whole year and dont come out until the new year has started. Then he is put through a series of bad events, like his house gets robbed, and he is kidnapped. You will have to read the book to find out what happenes to Cal. I would reccomend this book to 6th grade and up beca...more
This series starts off like "The Thirty-Nine Clues" crossed with Alex Rider, on steroids. The action starts in the first chapter with 15-year-old protagonist Cal Ormond caught in a storm on an old fishing boat with his uncle, leading to his near drowning, & doesn't let up for a minute, right up to the cliffhanger ending in a rapidly filling oil storage tank. Boys are going to love the edge-of-your-seat action. Cal's dad died of a very mysterious disease six months ago, right after making a s...more

A partir daí tudo mudou. Na véspera de fim-de-ano Callum é avisado por um desconhecido que...more
As a kid, I'd visit the local book shop and marvel at the covers of Don Pendleton's "Executioner" series that stretched over several feet of shelf, more than thirty five titles. Never actually read one, but there was something exciting and appealing about a saga that was obviously worthwhile. With so many books, they must be good, right? The same phenomenon draws readers to The Hidden Staircase and The Tower Treasure, readers who appreciate being able to finish one title an pick up the next. Har...more

Gabrielle Lord survived being ‘razed’ by the nuns, acquired an education despite this, and after working in many different areas, sales, teaching, brick-cleaning, peach-picking and packing, and in the Public Service as an employment officer, started writing seriously aged 30.
