Those needing a little distraction.
I liked this short story well enough. There's some good action scenes and it was interesting how the interplay was described between the Guardians and the paranormal creatures they hunt. This relationship was at the core of how Andrea and Kaden were going to deal with the issue of Kaden's change into a vampire. I liked when one of the characters referred to their situation as "how Buffy" like it is, because it reminded me of it.

This short story is Larissa Ione doing what she does best: steaming up the pages until they are practically on fire. Amazon.com places this book before Ecstasy Unveiled but since it references the couple from that book, I think it belongs after it. It's not a big deal either way. This is really a stand-alone story with a cameo from Tayla & Eidelon at the end and can really be read at any point.

I believe it was last night I saw this short story was being released and for the fact I hadn't read this short story in its original form in The Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance, I squealed with excitement and today I immediately bought it for my Kindle on PC.

I love Larissa Ione's Demonica series so I was excited that she wrote a novella as part of the series. Ever since reading Sin Undone, the final book in the series, I've been jonesing for more of the characters from UGH (Underworld General Hospital). And she delivered. A fun quick read from Larissa Ione's Demonica series. Andrea and Kaden are Aegis Guardians. Whilst out hunting for vampires one night, Kaden disappears, presumed to be either dead or turned. This short Demonica novella is a perfect read for a short flight, or when you are hiding in a bedroom pretending to take a nap to get away from family on a family trip. I did the latter and it was a wonderful little break.

Let me begin by saying that I consider myself a Larissa Ione fangirl. I have completely devoured the Demonica series in its entirety, and am anxiously awaiting her new Lords of Deliverance series, the first book of which (Eternal Rider) is due out in April.
That said, while I certainly enjoyed this read, I wasn’t entirely blown away by this short story.
Fans of the Demonica series will of course appreciate glimpses into...more

First off, a word of warning. Don't do what I did and make the mistake that this is book 3.5 of the Demonica series because it's not. Technically, it's book 4.5. However, that said, it doesn't spoil anything per se but does give the state of the relationship of the characters from book four. It's only a minor niggle and my own fault.

Eternity embraced was a short and fun read that once again proves that Larissa Ione can, and will, rock your world, even in a 44 page novella. I always go into a novella not expecting much, because, well...there's just not that much of it. It's really hard to build up a good story in so few pages, but Miss Ione pulled it off.

I have to admit that this one worked for me. Larissa Ione gave us a glimpse at the inner workings of the Aegis and the way the Guardians are brainwashed into believing that all demons are evil and managed to make it both creepy and sexy. Not at the same time. I mean, the sexy part came after the creepy when Kaden is battling his bloodlust and desire for Andrea while they're locked up all alone in a cell together. Rawr!

This is a short story that takes place between Passion Unleashed and Ecstasy Unveiled. It's about two Guardians, Andrea and Kaden. First, it was short and sweet which made it really easy to squeeze in between my other books. Second, it gave readers a little bit more insight into exactly how ‘crazy’ and radical the Aegis is. It turns out to be a real eye opener for both Andrea and Kaden.

Be aware that this is not a full-length novel. This is a very shortened story that coincides between the third and fourth books in the Demonica series. I did enjoy the dynamic between these two main characters and believe that the story would have made for a really great full-length novel. I was a little sad that there was so little to the story, but as I understand, it was part of The Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance 2.

The story is solid. I'm debating what to rate it. Most of this series are solid fours....excellent reads, great story universe, the build up between characters is pretty solid. So, this is a short story and it's primary "lack" is exactly what you would think - not enough going on between the characters. Of course, "in story" there is a good explanation for this, the build up occurred before the story begins. I realized that I've become a harsher grader. Previously, I would have rated this book as a 4, just because Ms. Ione wrote it to help me fill up the time until her next book comes out. The problem with this story is nothing but it's short-ness. It's a short story, so that's obvious, but while the love/passion of the characters are focused, it felt as if Ms. Ione hardly cared for Andrea and Kaden's story.
