Stormy Seduction is the second book in the Pacific passions series by author Vivian Arend. The first book in this series Stormchild came out in May 2010 and you should start there with this series of short stories. Stormy Seduction may only have 7 chapters but they are a packed 7 chapters. This is paranormal erotica short story series with lots of hot steamy scenes.

Stormy Seduction is the second book in the Pacific passions series by author Vivian Arend. The first book in this series Stormchild came out in May 2010 and you should start there with this series of short stories. Stormy Seduction may only have 7 chapters but they are a packed 7 chapters. This is paranormal erotica short story series with lots of hot steamy scenes.

In the first book Storm Child we get to meet Matt and Laurin. Neither one was expecting what they found in each other. Matthew Jentry is a medical doctor and shaman to his people the water shifters. Laurin Marshall is a teacher and of the air shifters and something more. In the first book Matt finds out that Laurin can boost other shifters powers. She has her own magic but doesn't realize it yet, She's been hiding her shifting abilities for 2 years to escape all the males from her clan who want her for her abilities to boost their own. Matt promises to defend their partnership and it isn't long til he has to fight off suitors. They move onto their next assignment together with the otter clan. Matt as the shaman/doctor of his people and Laurin and a teacher. If things weren't hot enough before they get to the Otter clan they absolutely sizzle off the page once they get there. You can plan and saying WOW, WOW once you get to this part. Vivian Arend writes some pretty steamy stuff in this series. The sex scenes are all well written and super hot. They just make you want to read more and more. Let me just say that the Otter clan are the most forward people ever. With that I'm going to give Stormy Seduction 5 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars. Stormy Seduction picks up where Storm Child ended. If you haven’t read that book you should start there, as the relationship building between Laurin and Matt begins in that story. Laurin is a teacher, as well as a powerful air shifter. She is also a Hawáte, which means that she can boost the powers of other shifters. Since mating with Matt, she has been trying to elude other male air shifters, who wish to use her powers to boost their own to strengthen their leadership claims with their clans. Matt is a powerful water shifter and a Shaman. He does not intend to allow any-other shifter to lay claim to Laurin; she is his and his alone. After making his feelings towards Laurin perfectly obvious to her potential suitors, Matt takes her to visit the otter clan, a very friendly and highly sexed group of water shifters. During their visit, Laurin intends to teach the otter children, whereas Matt is there to preside over the fertility ritual as their spiritual guide. Caught up in the sensuality of the ceremony, Laurin and Matt cement their mating and discover that their combined powers have only just begun to grow.

I loved the first part of this story and this one didn’t fail to disappoint. The chemistry between Matt and Laurin is sizzling in this instalment. The continuous sex scenes that occur throughout this short story are certainly enough to get your palms a little sweaty, but they are filled with a tenderness that shows how deep the characters feelings for each other are. One thing I like about Vivian Arend's writing is that, although her sex scenes are smoking hot, she doesn’t overuse the euphemisms that can often make such scenes crass. I don’t recall “pussy” being used, “cock” barely features and I don’t think I saw the actual act be referred to as “f**king” at any point. Forgive the blunt terminology, but nothing annoys me more than sex scenes being punctuated with porn-style terminology, or sex scenes being written where the author can’t seem to refer to body parts using the correct terminology, instead deeming flowery euphemisms such as “sheathe” appropriate. Vivian Arend does neither of these and it certainly worked for me! :D One of the most fascinating dynamics of their relationship, to me, was that whenever Laurin was thinking up lusty thoughts, Matt could see them all. That certainly would be an interesting power to have!

As Laurin and Matt are the primary characters, theirs are the personalities for which you get a better feel. I found them both to be strong characters, who had no problems denying their attraction was something more than just lust. I can’t wait to see what comes out in the next instalment concerning their powers; I can only hope its explosive! The scenes that stick out the most in my mind are the ones with the Otter clan. They certainly were a horny bunch! Upon entering their ship, both Matt and Laurin are accosted by over familiar Otters trying to lure them into sex. It takes a public declaration to ward them off and, even after all this, a particularly rambunctious Male named James offers himself as a “third” (Pretty please can I see this scene.....please?) When it comes to the fertility ritual...WOW! As Shaman, Matt is expected to attend and “spill seed”. Although his intention is to merely masturbate, Laurin is taking no chances of the ritual getting out of hand, and attends alongside him. She has no idea of what to expect, but when the fertility ritual consists of a lone female being taken by three men at the same time, Laurin and Matt get lost in the moment and end up having sex watching them. The style of writing used by this writer benefitted the visual created by the scene and certainly made the ceremony one of the most erotic things I’ve ever read!

This short story is fabulous, but so was the first one. Read them both; they fit together as one story and you won’t get the full impact of the tale without doing so. I enjoyed all the characters and the love story is truly wonderful to watch unfold. Give me a possessive man who is also reasonable enough to know when to step back and I’ll be a very happy reader!

Stormy Seduction picks up the story immediately after the ending of Stormchild and I would recommend reading the stories in order or you'll miss out. This series is a trilogy of 3 novellas but I would suggest reading them together and treating it like a full length novel as each one will leave you wanting more. I mentioned in my review of the first novella how much I liked Matt and that hasn't changed. It was nice to see a character who was willing to admit his feelings so quickly, is prepared to protect his partner but doesn't want to force her into anything she is uncomfortable with. He is happy to let her accept their relationship in her own time and is willing to take things slowly if that's what Laurin wants.

Matt and Laurin definitely have chemistry and if you're looking for a hot, erotic, paranormal read then this is definitely a series you'll want to check out. When Laurin's next teaching assignment takes her to the otter clan Matt's skills as a shaman are also required for their summer fertility ritual. The otter clan are highly sexed and very uninhibited so as you can imagine the fertility ritual is quite a public display. I will warn you that the story contains a menage scene, voyeurism and exhibitionism but it is very well written and will leave you fanning yourself as you read. Although I would have loved to have seen some of the scenes fleshed out a little more I'm still really enjoying the series and looking forward to reading the final installment.(less)

I started ebook "Stormchild" last night following it by the next one "Stormy Seduction" - it was okay. One issue I had with it is there seemed to not be any explaination as to the class of shapeshifters used in the book and I would get lost.

So when I started the 2nd one right afterwards - I was so disappointed to find out that the same couple in "Stormchild" was just continued on into "Stormy Seduction" making the problems of the second book one worse. The second one I gave up on midway thru th...more

Matt is intent on doing what he must to keep the woman he has grown to love even though their relationship is very new. After a tense stand off and fight, Matt prevails and proves his worth to Laurin’s people which leaves them free to sail on to their next destination, the settlement of the otter clan.

Ms. Arend ramps up the sexuality in Book 2 of the Pacific Passion series, as noted in the book synopsis, the otter clan are extremely sensuous and playful and Laurin and Matt must make it known they are a couple to fend off any number of well meaning suitors vying for both their attentions. This short story also about relationship growth and how Matt particularly has underestimated Laurin’s abilities, she is very clever and quite savvy. I liked the fantasy element of this story in that Matt and Laurin's passion for one another enhances their magical abilities thereby strengthening their connection and love.

As the synopsis eludes, there is a scene depicting a fertility ritual that is part of the otter clan’s heritage. Ms. Arend pulls out all the erotic stops, and be forewarned, there is a menage involving multiple partners, voyeurism and exhibitionism, and the entire clan is part of the festivities. This is one hot scene and I found it unique and appropriate given the nature of these shifters. Matt worries about Laurin’s reaction to the ritual, however she surprises them both by embracing the festivities in a very, um ‘positive’ manner. lol

Using stellar descriptive prose Ms. Arend continues to depict the beauty of the British Columbia coastline, and using it as the setting for a people who are one with the land and water adding for me what was a special 'feel' to the story. I’m really looking forward to reading what comes next for Matt and Laurin in the final story of Ms. Arend’s Pacific Passion series, Silent Storm. (less)

Stormy Seduction picks up right after the events in book 1. Like, morning after after. Heck, Laurin and Matt barely have time to get in some hot morning nooky before the air shifters show up to challenge Matt. Let's face it, having your morning sexy time nearly interrupted by a group of guys who want to use your lady friend for their own nefarious purposes is enough to take the sting out of any man's stinger. Good thing Matt has a little more oomph than your normal guy, right?

This is one of my first shape shifter books that I absolutely adored. It blew me away. So tastefully done yet highly (HOT)erotic at the same time. Laurin the Teacher who is a air shifter (think Eagles) and Matt (Healer shaman) mix their magic to heat up the pages of the this story.

Whew, this one was hot! It picks up right where the last one left off. Laurin is worried about how things will go now that her secret is out. She really shouldn't have worried as Matt was more than able to take care of the competition. I loved the reaction that the others had for Matt.

Life in the otter community was sure interesting, they give a new definition to free love! I wasn't sure how the fertility ceremony would go, but it turned out to be super hot.

But, finally she give up. And when she go to the feast, it's not like what she expected. With Matt at her side, she enjoy the feast and let her magic and Matt's mixed, and their feeling growing...

Much longer than the first book Stormchild. There's development at world building, more conflict, and still steamy.. But there are some point that make me not give it full 4 stars! It's because not like the 1st book that have no conflict, in this book there are 2 separated conflict that seems to be forced in one story and in my opinion, doesn't fit each other. Even it explain some point that left blank at the 1st book..

Not my favorite series by Vivian Arend but still I'm enjoy it :).This series is for you, if you want a steamy short story with paranormal genre.

When starting a new relationship it’s never fun to have to already fight for her love. And I do mean fight. Now that the People of the Air have found Laruin there are several men who want to prove they should be her man. Matt is spending his time trying to show her that he loves her without scaring her off. Once that is over the Otter Clan tests her sexual limits. This is a fun one filled with lots of hot sex and some multi partner action. That Otter Clan sure sounds like a lot of fun!

I love, love, love Vivian Arend's stories and these two characters were exactly what I enjoy about her writing, but there's just enough here to bother me that I only liked this instead of loving it. I enjoyed the concept of this and the preceding story, but they have too much of an compacted quality to them for me to really get involved before they're over. The sex is boiling hot and there's a lot of it and when the story's this short, there's not a lot of plot movement.

The second installment for the series met all my hopes. The book picks up right where the last left off which was a little strange but quickly became a great jumping off point. There were some scenes I’d have loved to see fleshed out more, but as it is just a short story in a continuing saga I understand that.
Arend's love scenes shine again and I must say this just keep getting hotter. Can't wait to see what she comes up with in the next book. Definitely raising the bar for continuing sagas, as...more

I really liked this story. It was hot and sexy like the first book and the ending was more resolved than the last book. I really enjoy this world and the sex is wild and sizzling and the romance is sweet.
Although I enjoyed this book,I'm not sure I'll continue the series because I read the blurb for next book and it's going in a direction I'm not into cause I like my couples to remain couples not threesomes.

Huh? This must have been an early work of Vivian Arend. Because for the most part I like her cowboys and her shifters. But this was off in every respect. Characters, storyline, motivations, setting... everything was very sparse and therefore difficult to invest in with any enthusiasm.
