Southwell has an amazing imagination. Her rendering of the alien Crystal Ship, in habited and controlled by the evil and destructive Envoy, is pretty amazing. Rayne is the "Golden Child" prophesied to protect the world of Atlan from destruction. She and her brother are rescued from the fatally damaged Earth and brought to their new home, so that she can provide the protection the legends promise.
