Mayu started off a bit slowly for me. I'll admit that this is not my usual read, and I think it started off a bit slowly. But, after a few chapters, the momentum of the story started to carry me along. Mayu had a somewhat challenging life, and to me, it seemed like she had a tough time enjoying herself. As she goes through the different phases in her life, she is accompanied at many steps by her companion and lover, who helps her see the positive side of life.
