This is a difficult book for me since I don't know the poems that Bloom analyzes all that well. Bloom is an incredibly intelligent and erudite writer and I found it worth my time to muddle through just for the glimmers of understanding that I managed to get, as well as for the interest it generated in reading some of the earlier poets (Blake, Keats, Yeats) that I never really explored.
I am rating this only 3 stars, not for a lack in the book but for a lack in me.
