Narrative nonfiction WITH text features! Who could ask for anything more?! GREAT book with minimal, yet highly informative, text. I'm disappointed our bookroom doesn't have the other books in this series! For more information, see my lesson plans at

Beautifully illustrated and simple narration describing the life of a hummingbird. Each page features a lovely picture and one sentence detailing what the image is capturing in that moment of the hummingbirds day. A nice animal science book for early elementary grades.

I didn't know hummingbirds migrated all the way to Central America and that they eat insects!
The first graders enjoyed this book today and had more questions about hummingbirds.
