Something Inside of Me: How to Hang On To Heaven When You're Going Through Hell is a memoir by Chitoka Webb that I was kindly given an ARC copy to review by JKS Communications. As always, all thoughts, opinions and what not are clearly my own and unpaid for.

Ms. Webb's memoir shares her struggle with not finishing high school on time, becoming a barber, opening her own barbershop, opening not one but two health care facilities, designing her own barbershop from the ground up, health problems and...more

I was initially drawn to this book by the title alone. I had seen a review for it, and I thought I would check it out. Lately, my family has been going through a lot of garbage, and I have felt sometimes that I was in the pit of hell. Yes, even as a committed Christian, you can have a very rough road. In fact, probably the more committed you are, the more the enemy attacks!

I began reading this book, and I was instantly drawn to Chitoka's easy-to-read style. In this book, she shared many personal...more

Just look at the cover! It pretty well sums up this amazing lady!

(OK...you may have to go to another on-line site to see it: http://www.amazon.com/Something-Insid...)

This is an inspirational story you read with a big wide-open smile, like Chitoka's on the cover...it's not a maudlin, tear-jerker of a story. The author makes you feel like you're on her journey with her - and it's matter-of-fact without self-pity.

Anybody can find something in this book to identify with. I'm amazing that someone at...more

Something Inside of me is the story of the struggles that Chitoka Webb faced to become a successful businesswoman. Her story is inspiring and her ability to overcome every hardship seems to come from an inborn inner strength that most people just don't have. No matter what hardship she faces, poverty, molestation, blindness, she comes out with a self love and ambition and courage that amazes. It's makes you want the same thing for yourself. Chitoka mixes her personal stories and antidotes with a...more

CHITOKA WEBB'S "SOMETHING INSIDE OF ME" (REVIEW)

One of the best words I can think of that comes to mind when I read this book is 'admiration'. I admire this woman for her courageous journey through life and the ups and downs she has learned to overcome. This book is remarkably written and her story is one that shows just how important it is to take life as it comes and work with it not against it. One great lesson is to treat others as you would have them treat you. This is something everyone sh...more

Ms. Webb delivers. Candid testimony that who we were originally designed to be can not be denied from without. The omnipotent presence of "something on the inside"...the Spirit of God...defy adversities and we are always victorious. I am encouraged to live a purposeful like - my best life. This reader highly anticipates Ms. Webb's next NY times best seller.

Chitoka is has secretly been an author for sometime, as she shares her thoughts and feelings in this book, I admire her ability to guide us in knowing that we each have something in us that is a gift from God. It is up to us to pray and determine the opportune time to unleash that gift. Chitoka's gift has been unleashed in this book. She is a woman of valor.

This is a pretty good book. This lady has gone through a lot of bad things in her life. Including a disease that makes it's hard to see. She has come through them stronger than ever. A very inspiring story. Makes you want to be as strong as she is.

I was glued to this book from the first page to the last. This woman did not let nothing stop her in every chapter there is a life lesson that you could use now or twenty five years from now.
