This book was very entertaining. The reader shouldn't have a hard time sitting down for hours with this book. The main character, Meggie, is a dynamic character. She is inquisitive, caring, and intelligent. This book is definitely aimed at the young adults/adults-the reader will likely expand his/her vocabulary.

Have you ever found yourself reading a book and skipping through about 20 pages at a time because you expect it to get better and more enjoyable if you just keep going? Meggie Brooks was this sort of a book for me and I struggled with it a lot!! I feel bad about admitting that I skimmed some areas but honestly there was no way I could continue reading the awful politic dialogue that continued to pour out of everyone’s mouth!

Almost every time I picked up this book to find something in it, I would catch myself 10 minutes later just reading along--and that was after I had already read it through twice! The writing itself is so compelling, you want to "stay" in the novel. And the last 100 pages are *so* compelling, it will ruin your life for a day or two (in a good way). Don't read while operating machinery!
