Fatal Destiny is book 3.5 in the Fatal series and just a great story. Heartbreaking, heartwarming, romantic and sexy – this is everything a love story should be!
We’re one week away from the wedding that we, and all of Washington, D.C., have been waiting for! Lieutenant Samantha Holland and Senator Nick Cappuano are finally going to tie the knot, but along with the usual last minute wedding scrambles and things to do, Nick and Sam are still coming to terms with a tragic loss. Nick feels helples...more
Just got back from Sam and Nick's wedding and it was PERFECT! I loved Sam and Shelby aka Tinker Bell's interactions. I'm loving the growing relationship between Nick and Scotty. I don't want to give anything away, but there's never a dull moment with Sam and Nick, so it wasn't all smooth sailing getting to the church. Once under way the ceremony and reception were amazing, you could just feel the love. I especially loved Graham's best man speech...brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait for the n...more
Marie did a great job sharing Nick and Sam's wedding. From wedding planner Shelby aka Tinkerbell to the dress by Vera Wang it is the perfect wedding, but getting there isn't so perfect.
As always there is something going on in Sam's world of homicide that always seems to keep Nick and the reader slapping your hand to your palm saying OMG not again Sam. LOL
The book starts out with Nick worrying about Sam's where abouts as he is home with a house full of guest for their wedding shower. There is s...more

Though I have several of her novels in my TBR pike, this is the first book I've read by Marie Force. Many readers I trust enjoy her, so I don't really have an excuse for not trying her before this.
This is the third book in a series that centers around one couple, so naturally I felt a little lost at times, but not so much that I wanted to stop reading.
I really liked Nick, but I struggles some with Sam. I understand she was dealing with some emotional trauma. The way...more

So I'm wondering if I shouldn't have read this book without reading the others in the series (there are Fatal Affair, Fatal Justice, and Fatal Consequences). I think that in some ways, you can read this as a stand-alone: I mean, the full storyline is there, and you don't really need the backstory to know what's going on. But I think that if you don't already love these characters from the other books, you're not going to love them from just reading Fatal Destiny.

This was a wonderful installment in what has become one of my favorite romantic suspense series. I have loved each book and worried that the wedding novella wouldn't be long enough to do the series justice. I am happy to say that I was completely wrong, and this short novella was just as good as the full length books in the series. Sam Holland and Nick Cappuana are great characters who have completely captured my heart. Fatal Destiny had a good storyline with plenty of action and suspense. I am...more
I thoroughly enjoyed this novella! This has become one of my favorite series and it was definitely a 5 star read for me just like all the rest. It's great getting to read the story that happens in between the larger books. It was very sweet to read about all the details of Nick and Sam's wedding - and Shelby (Tinkerbell) is one heck of a good wedding planner!
I loved the fact that this book wasn't ONLY about their upcoming nuptials. Even in the off time, Sam is still a cop through and through, an...more

First off, this is written to be somewhat of a stand-alone novella, and you could probably read it if you haven't read the series without being too lost, but I think you need to have read the first three books to really enjoy it. This was a wonderful novella about Sam and Nick's wedding with just enough of the subplots to make you wonder how the next book in the series will start off. I love Scotty's character and can't wait to see him brought into the family. I also loved Tinker Bell and would...more
When I first read the summary in Netgalley, I picked this book right away, cause at the moment I wanted a happy ending, sometimes this happens to me.
It didn't really matter at the moment that it was a novella in the middle of a series. So when I started to read it was a bit confusing, but my fault not the author, and dispite this I quite enjoyed this little book, cause is short and can't wait to put my hands on the rest of this series, cause I wanna know how they met.

Okay, wow, I don't usually like to be overly negative about a book but this book was not good. It had no conflict. At all. It was a story about a couple who were going to get married. They had a few very benign arguments that were quickly resolved because they were both so understanding and accommodating. No fun there. The heroine was a lieutenant and somehow we heard about her horrid past but still didn't really care and also she was shot at during an investigation but still, didn't care. There...more
Sam and Nick are getting MARRIED!!! It's so wonderful that Marie Force charges nothing for this one :). This is a great installment for the series, and even if the core theme is about the wedding (yes, it IS happening) but the story still moves on as well. We have Sam and Nick dealing with (view spoiler) that happens in book #3. We have Freddie dealing with his (view spoiler) with Erin. We have more information that might related to Skip H...more
Freebie for my Nook. I've read the author before — I liked her writing, but I didn't like the book (Love at First Flight) at all because of the main characters' actions. I promised myself I would give the author another shot, though, so when this came up as free over at B&N, I downloaded it.
I think this was the wrong book for me to try the author again. First, it's around the fourth book in a series which I hadn't read. I didn't know that at the time, and as I first started reading the book,...more

“We’re going to the chapel and we’re gonna get married . . . .” But not without some obstacles along the way. Crime stops for no one and the bride-to-be, Lt. Samantha Holland, can’t turn her back on solving crimes. Peter Gibson, Sam’s ex won’t stay away either . . . no he presents himself the night before the wedding, along with gun in hand.

4.5 out of 5. A delightful, romantic, sexy, and suspense-filled novella that involves the main characters that are featured throughout this series--a police lieutenant and a United States Senator who are trying to get their lives in sync in order to pull off a wedding. But there is trouble afoot and even difficulties from the past turn up to make the reader wonder if this couple will ever find their happily ever after. Beautifully written in such a way that it really could stand alone, but is be...more
I usually dont like novellas but I am soo glad Marie Force wrote this one!!!
SPOILER ALERT
Sam and Nicks wedding deserved its own story , I read and re-read the wedding part of the book three times, savoring the details, Sam and Nicks reaction to each other when they first saw each other in the church and the first time togther as man and wife (that was sooo romantic and intense)...I also loved the side stories with Cruz/Elin and Scotty.
I LOVE this couple!!

I picked this short story up as a free read. It probably wasn't a good place to start, since I believe it's a 'fill-in' between books in this series.
The story stood alone reasonably well, although there were mentions of characters and events in passing that I didn't understand. No doubt regular readers of the series would not have the same trouble.

I read the entire book before I realized that this was the second book in a series of three. Therefore, I was disappointed with the ending as I am sure I would have gotten more out of it if I had read the first book and need to read the third in the series to complete the story. Story line is based on two main characters--Samantha Holland, a police lieutenant, and Senator Nick Cappuano. They keep getting pulled apart due to their work and struggle to put everything in order for their upcoming we...more
I'll mop up my happy tears and write the review tomorrow. So damn good!
If you're Fatal Series fan, you'll most likely remember a few months ago when Marie Force had daily (or maybe weekly I can't quite remember) polls for Sam and Nick's wedding. FINALLY that day has come and we get to see how those top voted choices were weaved into the Fatal Wedding.

First, thank you to Net Galley for giving me the opportunity to read and review "Fatal Destiny."
This is the second in a series by Marie Force. I found "Fatal Destiny" to be a good engrossing read. Because I had not read the first in the series, it took me awhile to get to know the characters, but once I felt comfortable with them, I enjoyed the plot and interaction. I was quite involved in the police portion of the plot and would have liked to know more, but I suspect I could gain more insight...more

Perfect - just perfect! Great dramatic suspense, beautiful wedding. Each installment in this series just gets better. Even though there was addition to the ongoing story, the focus on the wedding was the purpose here. I've enjoyed watching Sam develop a softer side as this series goes along and by the time the wedding went down she just melted into Nick. Ok, Sam did have a brief hardass moment just before walking down the aisle, but it was well deserved. The most fun was how MF allowed us all to...more
I know it's not an end to the series (it's book/novella 3.5 and I hear #6 is coming out in the summer of 2013) but this was a lovely "happy ending" where the main couple finally weds. I liked that it was a separate thing, that even though crime and mystery still surrounds them and invades their life, they can actually have a moment or day just for them. Kudos to Ms. Force!
**Also, I find it humorous that a 400+ page book is a "novella" to the author. :)

Everytime I read a Marie Force book, I end up thinking that I would have enjoyed the story more as a novella--get in, get to the point. and get it done. Indeed, this novella contains less beating around the bush, stays on track, and works very well, without a lot of ho-hums where things drag out. I enjoyed this little novella very much but be warned, the crime drama is left up in the air, it's conclusion presumably saved for the next book.
I read this one firt because the cover was so beautiful and the plot seems great. I wasn't wrong. Now that I know some of these characters, I think I should read the others to do them justice and to get to know them better. So that's what I'm going to do...
Sam and Nick are perfect for each other and with the wedding day finally here, the drama can't seem to leave them be: there's crazy ex-husband, poor excuse of a mother and bad guys coming to them.

Not a convincing first reading of a new promising author for me.
I do not really understand that the free book should be number 3.5 in a series which always feature the same couple as heroes. It makes the entrance into the book and characters quite difficult and frankly absolutely not convincing.
So many catastrophies had happened in the heroine's life over the last few months that I really had trouble to find any of it realistic enough to catch my interest. No characters seemed to have been able...more

This "in-between" book in the Fatal series is mostly about the wedding of Sam and Nick, the main characters in the series. There is of course some drama as Samantha continues to hut for the man who sot her father and put permanently in a wheelchair. Like all of the books in the series there are some tense moments, funny dialogue and steamy interludes for Sam and Nick. Now I am ready for book 4.
Finally Nick and Sam are getting married. The build-up was amazing and I loved being able to participate in the wedding by voting for flowers, hair, dress etc. I think this was a lovely idea and I was even more anxious to read the wedding novella.
I loved every single book in the Fatal series so far and wish it would go on endlessly. Nick and Sam grew close to my heart and I just think Marie Force made them a beautiful couple. Fatal Destiny is another amazing addition to the series. While the foc...more

excellent read! i love Sam and Nick as a couple and even though this was a freebie filler to show their wedding, i understood who was who, what was going on, and all the necessary details--and explaining these things did not detract from the story. kudos to Ms. Force--you've got a new reader. i will be looking forward to getting the full length books at some point in the future.
Loved it. Glad to see Peter get what he deserves although something tells me we have seen the last of him. Lt Stahl is up to something and is not only gunning for Sam but her entire team IMHO. I can see Nick's mom making it difficult for Sam and Nick.. he should go to the press about her like he did when the news about Sam's past got out. She is just trying to cause him trouble as she knows what buttons to push and how they affect him. She is a real B!^&H

Well loved it at times brought tears to the surface. Defianatley a must read but will make no sense if you have not read the first two because it is litterally in the middle of the relationship and certian parts just wont be the same unless you read it from the beginning. Well on to number 4 I am really enjoying this series
Tastes differ...I won't bother writing a review. Marie Force is just not my cup of tea. She reminds me of authors/books I read about 20 years ago. Too lukewarm, cheesy, and boring. I can't help it...I feel this way and it's ok that a lot of people love this author. There are so many other good authors and books to discover yet.
