In the opening, the heroine, Gwendolyn, is beating up a bad guy while talking on a cell phone. Need I say more? She's a vampire with a tough exterior and a definite chip on her shoulder.

Elves are one of the reasons for Gwendolyn's grudge against the world. She can't stand them, not at all. Enter our hero, Hunter. He's gorgeous, of course. He's also the kind of guy that could sweep any girl straight off her feet. Oh, he's also an elf.

This is the second published works of Melissa Hosack following the charming 'More Bark Than Bite' published in 2008.
Gwen is a vampire, a tough vampire with a tough exterior & an inner vulnerability that keeps people & colleagues at arms length, I really enjoyed the opening salvo & fighting scene. Written in the first & second person, it is mainly a paranormal love story between Gwen & the very different male protagonist Hunter who is an Elf.

Melissa Hosack lives near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her husband Jeremy and their four pets: Duke, Edge, Eddie, and Leia.
