My clippings:

Common symptoms of neurological dysfunction (rather than a psychologically based disorder) include trouble concentrating that can be described as "spacey" or "zoney;" a sensory, auditory, or vestibular processing difficulty; executive dysfunction; sleep difficulties or an abnormal sleep cycle; and fine or gross motor abnormalities. As noted elsewhere, these findings, particularly the fine and gross motor issues, become markers for the likelihood of a virus occurring.

Ok, this book has a really bad title and it apparantly offends a lot of people because it sounds like - if you don't read the second part of the title, that the author considers autism not to be a real condition or something.
What the author means by calling autism a myth is that the huge group of symptoms that is now called the autism spectrum does not fit the original definition of autism as defined by Kanner. Kanner's autism is a developmental disorder that is present from birth. Today's autis...more

Not a bad book at all. It seems that he has enough evidence to make the argument and it is better than the tradition, "mysterious autism" that's been used in the literature. It'd be interesting to see how others in the community, namely Medical Doctor's, psychologists, and parents, will view this book and their response to it. His argument that Autism is a medical disease and not a psychological, developmental or genetic disorder is compelling. His reasoning and arguments to support are plausibl...more

If you or anyone you know has been diagnosed with autism I urge you to buy this book. Dr. Goldberg attacks autism as a medical condition and he has had a great deal of success with this approach. As case studies of kids that have been cured prove, autism is treatable and should be treated as a medical disease (not some psychological problem that requires yet more useless pills). Dr. Goldberg and his co-author, Elyse Goldberg, have first hand experience treating children with this devasting condi...more

The soundest basis to perform a science-based diagnostic and treatment of neuro immune dysfunction. Every parent with a child under diagnostic of autism/PDD-NOS must read before accepting the label and also perform a neuro spect scan. I'm currently in touch with several parents with children labeled within the spectrum that have already performed such a diagnostic (using neuro spect scan) and they have truly found the inflammation in the brain. Therefore following the book's treatment they have...more

An interesting view of autism as a dysfuntion of the neuro-autoimmune system. Based on NeuroSPECT scans, Dr. Goldberg views autism as a consequence of inflammatory process which can be treated. A very unique and interesting analysis! Who really knows?

Very interesting theories. A bit repetitive at times but it will keep me thinking and exploring for a long time to come.

Not especially well written but absolutely fascinating and potentially groundbreaking. Goldberg's theories make more logical sense than any others I've heard to date, which offers so much hope for those affected by autism, ADHD, and autoimmune disorders at large.
