I received this book a while back, and thanks to a hectic life, took me a while to sit down with it. Which just goes to prove how much I needed this book! This is a 10-week bible study of sorts for women, all about rewriting the story of your life, starting with today. This book lays out a blueprint for starting to change your life and write the story that you would like to have told after you leave this earth, and creating that story to reflect who you really are and who you really want to beco ...more

We have all had things happen in our lives that change who we are. Sometimes, they are good things and sometimes they are bad things.

Personally I know that sometimes I find myself stuck for a while dwelling on the bad things, I am a lot better at getting past them and moving on. But it still happens, sometimes. I need God to nudge me a long and show me there is more to this story then I can see.

Same Life, New Story is a 10-Week Bible Study for women all about writing a new story each day with y

Not as strong as the rest of her books. I find the "what might have been doesn't exist, so don't go there!" concept frustrating. God DOES go there (Psalm 81), and in Joel 2:25 He says rather, “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten." See also Isaiah chapters 49 and 54. I believe the Resurrection is the ultimate answer to all our disappointments and heartbreaks, not the concept that we can imagine -- but not obtain -- a better happy ending than God will give us.

Same Life, New Story is a 10 week Bible study for women. Each chapter is one week's study and includes personal reflection questions, a journal entry prompt and group discussion questions at the end of each chapter.

Each chapter is centered around one female character from the Bible. Mrs. Silvious tells the story of these women and relates their stories , struggles and triumphs into today's terms. Using anecdotes from the lives of real modern-day women to compare and contrast the plight of these

he full title of this book is Same Life, New Story: Change Your Perspective to Change Your Life. It is written as a 10 week bible study for women, focusing on women from the Bible. Each selected biblical woman has a section dedicated to her story and is divided into small sections of passages to read. The woman selected for this book are Naomi, Leah, Rahab, Deborah, Elizabeth, Hannah, Abigail, Anna, Jehosheba, and Naaman's servant girl.

Overall, I would give this book a 3/5. I enjoyed the woman's

It took me quite awhile to read this book because I was really trying to benefit from the message that Jan Silvious was sharing. She used various women of the Bible and shared their stories and also shared stories of things that have happened to women who are contemporaries of ours. I felt that some of the stories from the Bible didn't really illustrate what the chapter was all about and sometimes the contemporary stories didn't relate to the Bible stories. However, I still benefited from readin ...more

Have you wanted to make changes in your life? Can't figure out what's holding you back? Within the first chapter, I knew Jan was on to something that even I, a Christian for over 15 years, could apply to my life today. Getting stuck in a rut is no fun. Getting out of that rut can change our lives.

In Same Life, New Story, Jan brings to light the message that we can change our lives if we allow God to change our stories. The Master Author can edit us out of our circumstances and into an abundant l

This is going to be tough. I liked the book for the stories that were told, but it wasn't really a Bible study. Another thing I thought she made a point of...was that no matter how hard your life is...it can always be worse... so get over yourself. She gave many examples of how much worse it can be, in the Bible, her life and in the lives of many other women. I appreciate the idea of telling women to get over themselves and get on with their lives. But, as a Bible study book I believe it failed. ...more

How many of us as women, wished to have the opportunity to do it all over again but, to do it differently? Did you ever ask yourself, “only if I knew back then what I know now?” I know I have, but as we all know we cannot change our past but simply learn from it.

So, in celebrating Women’s History month, I reviewed, Same Life, New Story by Jan Silvious, you will see that although you cannot change the events of your past you still can transform your present as to take control of your future. In t

I received " Same Life, New Story" by Jan Silvious. I received this book for free in exchange for 2 reviews.

The book is a ten week bible study program. In it, the author talks about changing your viewpoint on your own life story. Our lives is a book, a story to tell , to be told by us and read by others. It mentions how we tend to be stuck in a story like setting in our lives. Some people stay in this funk, never venturing outside the box, never making the move to change our lives or our stories

Same Life, New Story: Change Your Perspective to Change Your Life by Jan Silvious is a ten-week Bible study course for women about starting a new chapter in life.

Just to start right in, I don't really recommend the book if you're looking for something to help you turn your life around, or even make minor adjustments. The book jumps around a lot, even within chapters, without a solid narrative arc, so it's hard to absorb a message that packs any sort of punch. The chapters are loaded with lots of

My current book to read and review from BookSneeze is "Same Life, New Story Change Your Perspective to Change Your Life" by Jan Silvious. It's a 10-week Bible study for women in the form of a self-help book. The book features stories and scripture from the Bible, quotes, questions and more!

The book is great for women who want to know more about the women in the Bible and themselves. Each chapter starts out with a name of a women from the Bible and a scripture verse. Then the chapter explains the

Great book that obviously God knew I needed right in this part of the story of my life. I learned and took away a lot from this book and have gotten information on how to forge on. I cannot wait to talk about this in book group now. Recommended to everyone that is struggling with something in their life and they feel as though they cannot move on. This will hopefully reverse that thought process for you like it has for me.
