Annie Lou Riddle had big dreams and when she landed the job at HOT magazine she thought they all came true and if her dreams included selling her soul and working for demons she’d be right. Now after three long years in servitude to her demon boss Finola White she thinks she can manage the remaining seven year sentence and she just might have if she’d never met Detective Nick Rossi.

I have read one other book by Kathy Love before and I found it to be rather enjoyable, from what I remembered, and I thought I'd grab this one because the premise was interesting. This book is supposed to be a Devil Wears Prada except there are actual demons and souls up for grabs. I didn't really like The Devil Wears Prada, I mean I liked the movie, but I couldn't stand the book. I tolerated this a bit better than DWP but not much more. I just didn't really feel for the characters or their pred More...

Little did Annie realize when she got the offer that her dream job was actually the job from hell - literally - and her boss, Fiola, at Hot! magazine is a demon whose every impossible wish is Annie's command and the price of failure is her soul. Since Fiola's been a little hard on the past help - a string of disappearances lead police detective Nick to investigate Hot! and when he literally bumps into Annie the attraction is instantaneous - and soon the only thing standing between them are: Anni More...

A light, fluff romance from Kathy Love. Not much different than her other books, although the humans play a much bigger part in this first book in a new series. Nick Rossi, our hunky detective, meets country-girl-with-big-dreams Annie Lou Riddle while investigating some twenty missing persons, all past employees of Hot! Magazine, and all somehow tied to Finola White. It's definitely a case of wanting the forbidden fruit, and the relationship between Nick and Annie develops nicely, albeit predict More...

Intrigue, a touch of mystery and a whole lotta demons!

Too bad she didn’t know going to work for Fiona White was a win/lose proposition. Win the best job at the hottest magazine in the world. Lose your soul!

OK I got to admit I so judged this book by the cover to begin with because I just loved it! I loved the drawn in cityline and the girls hair on the cover so I just knew the story had to be a bomb!

For once the story was a riot as well! A nice easy to read contemporary romance with demons. Annie has basically sold her soul for a dream job and has seven long years to work off her contract because Finola her boss does not let emplyees backout of any contract but um if she becomes disatisfied with th More...

Annie Lou Riddle is living in the New York and has just decided to pack it in and go back to Mississippi when she gets a phone call that changes her life: HOT! magazine has just called to offer her her dream job.

Fast forward three years and Annie is miserable; her boss is evil - no really, she's a demon. Annie sold her soul for 10 years of being Finola White's assistant. While the perks are great - fabulous apartment and great clothes, the downside is that if she can't please Finola and breaks h More...

Devilishly Hot
By: Kathy Love
Copyright: November 2011
Publisher: Brava Paranormal Romance

And you thought your job was hell. . .
Annie Lou Riddle had a plan: Move to New York City. Break into the fashion industry. Work her way to the top. Nowhere in that scenario did she expect to accidentally sell her soul in exchange for a job at Hot! Magazine. Oops.
Demons, it seems, aren't big on letting mortals off the hook. Now Annie is stuck working as assistant/personal slave to Finola White—diva extraordina More...

Annie Lou Riddle left Mississippi and headed to New York with high hopes of breaking into the fashion industry, but even with degrees in fashion design and journalism she wasn’t having any luck. She was packing her bags to head back to the Deep South when she gets a call about a position as assistant to Finola White, owner of Hot! Magazine. Barely able to contain her excitement she accepts the position and agrees to start the next day. While she celebrates with happy dancing she doesn’t have a c More...

Really enjoyed this - it is fast paced, with big sexual tension. What makes the book special is that it isn't just about sex. The main characters have an indelible emotional attachment that drives the whole story. What I loved most was that halfway through, I was convinced there was absolutely no way the author solve all their problems and deliver a happy ending. Their love triumphed over impossible odds. Very fun read!

Most of the book was very entertaining, but I was disappointed in how quickly the story shut down at the end. (It was if the author was close to the allotted number of pages and had to abruptly stop writing to make a deadline.) I've always enjoyed other Kathy Love books and was excited to find this one at my local bookstore. Unfortunately, it was not one I wish to read again and I've already given it away.

Outside of my usual genre, this tale is a funny little Devil Wears Prada meets Damn Yankees. It is cute and interesting and will keep you reading. Characters are well thought out, and for me no one really jumped out that I was totally rooting for, the characters hold their own and in my mind I could picture them as individuals.

I usually love Kathy Love's novels, but Devilshly Hot was really lacking. For one thing, Finola wasn't scary/evil - more child like and immature than evil demon. For another, Annie and Nick didn't really "spark" for me. (In other words, I didn't feel as if they had a real attraction to each other.)

Full review coming soon.

Ok ... 3 stars -but I think that as I had seen the film "the devil wears Pravda", this spoilt my enjoyment of the book. I will read other books by the author to see if I enjoy her others more!

Though this was a clear rip-off of The Devil Wears Prada, it was still a fun read, especially because it had real demons and a very funny Satan himself to liven things up.

I went into this book thinking it was going to be a contemporary novel and it turns out to be about devils and demons in the mortal world. This is what i get for not reading the summary beforehand.
But, even with my current lack of enthusiasm for the genre, I liked this book.
The fun, quirky detective with a dark past and the quiet, and almost fearful, Editor's assistant make for a very fun match.
Add in a (view spoiler)[ cheating boyfriend (hide spoiler)], 21 missing people and a soul contract and you have got the makings o More...

The Devil Wears Prada with the actual Devil....

I enjoyed the first half of this book - but it seemed as I got into the romantic interplay I lost all interest. It was funny and entertaining but romantic was just not what crossed my mind and this was supposed to be a paranormal romance. I had to put it down. If you are looking for a comical and not too original paranormal romance chick lit, go for it.

This was considerably darker than what I expected from the cover, but not so dark that it was hard to slog through. Lots of angst that dragged through the whole book,, but it fit the theme & plot. A good read.

After 65 pages I am giving this one up. It reminds me too much of The Devil Wears Prada, only with a real devil/demon. This one just wasn't for me.
