Fancy Nancy: Stellar Stargazer! (Fancy Nancy)
Fancy Nancy thinks that everything in the sky is simply stellar, from the sun and the moon to the stars and their constellations (that's a fancy word for the shapes that stars make!). So nothing could make her happier than a special sleepover under the stars with her dad and her little sister, JoJo. Together Nancy and JoJo wish on stars, moon bathe, and even eat astronaut...more

The Fancy Nancy books are all big hits in my household. This one happens to be the one most recently read so here is where I'm depositing my review of the series in general. The illustrations are dazzling, the main character is utterly charming, and in addition to providing a sweet story each book is also a great vocabulary builder for your little ones. The appeal (particularly visually) is primarily for girls but I wouldn't hesitate to read Fancy Nancy books to a boy as well. Little girls after...more
This is the first time I have let my daughter read one of these books. She is 4 and I didn't know anything about the content. I was pleasantly surprised. Nancy uses big words which she refers to as "Fancy" words, which are very informative. The whole book explains star and moon patterns and the constellations. It's a very creative way to make an informative children's book. I will be buying more for my daughter.
Fancy Nancy never disappoints! Her love for all things fancy, including her larger more challenging vocabulary to share with your little ones is always spot on. In this book Fancy Nancy is having an overnight camp out in her yard with her family. While Nancy and her little sister play in their makeshift space shift, they can't wait to gaze at constellations. I even learned new facts about our solar system! That perfect combination of education and fun.
We've read a ton of Fancy Nancy stories and our girls really like them. They are fun and girly and introduce new vocabulary words in an interesting, if repetitive, way. This book discusses space exploration and constellations and we loved the glow in the dark cover. So fantastique (that's French for fantastic.)

Due to limited time and attention span, we only shared Nancy's made-up constellation and her story about it--"The Legend of the Diamond Tiara" (of course!) to give the 5-8 year old group an idea about constellations and their legends.
This is the best Fancy Nancy I have read yet! Stellar Stargazer is amazing beginning to end. This one does not just go on the children's shelf, but in the special educational science section! I love it when kid's books are more than just cute. :) Highly recommended!!

As someone who doesn't like pink or fancy things, it is amazing how much I like the Fancy Nancy books. A lot of that is because the focus of the books is more on fancy vocabulary, rather than just fancy frills. (Although there are plenty of fancy frills in the pictures!)

The book was about Fancy Nancy watching and learning about stars. We liked this book because we love Fancy Nancy, and she is a good fancy girl. SM

I liked the Stellar facts that were added in.
I thought this one felt a little forced. It was focused on being "educational" instead of just flowing with Nancy and her Fancy ideas. But Nancy was cute, and the interactions between her and her family were sweet, so it's still a pretty good story.
And, a nice introduction to stars and the moon for Fancy Nancy fans.

Since the publication of Fancy Nancy, Jane O'Connor's closet now boasts so many boas, tiaras, and sparkly ensembles that sometimes friends do not recognize her on the street. She still resides (that's a fancy word for lives) in New York City with her family and their canine companion, Arrow. --from the publisher's website
