5 - "I'm with the man, not the king. The king can kiss my ass." Stars!

The King and his ‘mate’ are given their story.

I liked Dage in Fated; the guy is dealing with a lot of responsibility, but still manages to keep his sense of humor. Emma is Cara’s sister, who we get to know a little about in book 1 as well. You also get more of an insight into their past with their parents in Claimed, but from Emma’s point of view this time.

Main point for me that I loved, was the verbal sparring between the two

I consider myself a HUGE fan of Rebecca Zanetti's "Dark Protector's" series. Which is Fated now Claimed. Before I started blogging, I wasn't a paranormal fan. And now I'm hooked. Not only am I hooked but I'm hooked on this series. Rebecca's books have a little bit of everything. It has Action, Science, Romance and my favorite it's sexy! It's so sexy it's steamy. Though it has sexy and steamy scenes, it's written very tastefully. I love her writing. PERIOD. This series has become one of my favor ...more

I thought Fated was bad, but I could not imagine the sequel was actually worse. This kind of stories are awfully reminiscent of pre-feminism, of a time when a woman "wanted" to be raped/forced/compelled and books told that kind of "truth".

Claimed is boring, at 66% I had skipped most of it already. Dage is the usual Neanderthal man, Emma the supposedly strong woman is really a womanly woman and immediately gives. All her strength and combativeness (she survived the bad guys for months) flee out

Rebecca Zanetti's sophomore title sure delivered. Dage is an awesome leader. Emma a brilliant heroine. Stubborn, strong, weak, enduring all rolled into a beautiful woman.

I loved all the action in this one. Tons of fighting and battling. I have to admit, though, the romance part was a bit .... rougher than I care for. I kept waiting for some tenderness to be shown, yet I didn't see that. Then again, I lean more toward the softer side of romance so it's just personal preference.

It was fun watchi

Amazing new take on vampires, Ms. Zanetti’s vampires are innovative and exciting!

Emma Paulsen has been on the run for weeks. She is trying to escape the Kurjans and now also the Vampires. During her work as a geneticist she discovers that she isn’t researching a cure for cancer but something more sinister. Grabbing her research and running is her only option. A race of evil beings called Kurjans are hunting her down for more than her research though. While on the run she discovers anoth

Dage, as king of the Realm, has the incredibly important job of keeping his race and other paranormals safe from the Kurjans. Geneticist Emma Paulsen has been on the run since she unveiled the Krujan's, an evil group who are trying to infect women with a virus to unmate them as well as change their genetic makeups. Emma's sister is infected and with child, she needs her to help find a cure, with this comes trouble as Dage Kayrs, King of the Realm, is determined to

Since I’m starting to sound like a broken record concerning Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protectors series, I’ll most likely make this my last review and just rate the rest as I read them. CLAIMED is my favorite in the series so far. I loved Emma, and Dage is a hero to die for. Ms. Zanetti’s witty dialogue and sense of humor between the characters makes the book a fun, exciting read.

What I truly admire about Ms. Zanetti’s style is that she introduces secondary characters gradually, but integrates them

I just finished re-reading Claimed and I must admit I loved it even more the second time around. Rebecca Zanetti brings such vividness to her stories and I seem to just get lost in their world. Dage is definitely one male that isn't afraid to be Alpha all the time. He makes no excuses, doesn't hold back and is sexy beyond compare. Emma is definitley the right female for him, she is stubborn and strong in her own right but, come on...we all know who is going to win this battle of wills. Don't we? ...more

Because this book has not been released yet I will not go into all the reasons I love it.Yes, I'm extremely lucky and have already gotten a glimpse at it! What I will say is that while it's good to be the wickedly sinful King, it's even better to be his mate!
I don't know why I keep reading these when I find some of the characters' views on sex so questionable. In the first book Talen used sex as a form of pseudo-blackmail to prevent or allow Cara to see her young daughter. In this book Dage uses crazy-no-hands-psychic-orgasms to essentially "break" Emma of her desire for independence.

This is, I think, the only PNR I read where I skim the sex scenes because while I enjoy the rest of the story, the sex scenes just do NOT do anything for me.

Emma Paulsen is a genetic scientist, a seer of the future, and a possessor of the 3 Bs – brains, beauty and bravery. She’s more than a match for Dage Kayrs, King of the Realm, 300+-yr-old vampire and wielder of several known (visions, teleportation, controller of the elements) and unknown powers.

This story picks up where Fated left off. Emma has been kidnapped by the Kurjans and is on her way to be forced to mate with their new leader. Dage has no intention of letting that happen because Emma is

Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protector's series is incredible. Her series in unique since science plays as big a part as the supernatural. We met a lot of the major characters for this story in book #1 Fated, and we got to spend time with them all again in Claimed. I was intrigued by Emma when we met her briefly in Fated. She is a strong heroine to our hero, Dage, who is King of the Realm. This was an exciting series, but since this story is part of a continuing saga, it is slightly frustrating since ...more

Oh my Dage.... I adored this book. I love biology and genetics so I loved the whole scientific part of of the plot. Dage and Emma are such a perfect match for each. Two strong, hard headed personalities with an underlying vulnerability. Without spoiling it for anyone who hasn't read. There's a scene when Dage loses it complete, when his heart and emotions are cracked wide open. It broke my heart. I really felt the emotion seeping from the pages. An author who can write like that and make me cry, ...more

Emma Paulsen has been running for months. She is a geneticist. Unknowingly her lab was being used as a research facility for the evil Kurjans. The Kurjans plan to find a way to take their enemies’ mates. Emma will do anything to keep that from happening since her sister is now mated to a vampire. Emma has psychic premonitions and knows things are going to get rough before they get better for those she loves. She is determined to protect those she loves if it’s the last thing she does. i absolutely fell in love with this book... this book has it all... love, action, mystery and suspense. i was on my toes all the time trying to figure out the big mystery surrounding Emma and the King ha ha Dage and how Cara, Katie and the Prophet got infected and the answer is unthinkable. But ill let you read it and find out for your self. This is a must read and i very much enjoyed it and i know you will too.
Another fantastic work by @RebeccaZanetti. I loved every aspect of this story: the dominance of the hero, the gentleness when it came to his mate, the care his brothers showed for the whole family, no signs of weakness from the heroine (as sometimes is expected in any story). There was great balance in the flow of the story and I just cannot wait for the next story in this series. Highly recommend it.
Cant believe it but this one was better than the first! I love this series! King Dage was awesome. He was a great alpha male but not to the extreme like his brother Talen (although Talen was great too). There was so much going on . Seemed like one thing after another kept on happening and I stayed up almost all night to finish this book. Cant wait for Conn's book!
Another great addition! I truly love this series, never a dull moment. I can't wait to find out everything, especially about Janie and Zane! :) oh and Conn... And Caleb.. ... And well, everyone else!

Second in the series, 3 1/2 stars....

We met Emma Paulson in book one, the sister of Cara, who was kidnapped and mated to Talen, the uber-alpha vampire prince. Cara has an adorable four year old daughter named Janie who is prophesied to be some savior of all the supernatural people in the world that Zanetti created.

Emma is a scientist, who grew up in an abusive home with a father that beat her because she could see the future. She spent her youth stepping in front of his fists to protect her youn
I love the inner plot with these books, but I continue to be appalled at the fact that all the Kayrs men feel the need to "break" their women. I was disgusted with Talen, but I figured I would go ahead and give the second book a try. Dage was wonderful at first, but the further you get into the book, the more of an @ss he becomes. Telling Emma he will break through her emotional walls with or without her consent (and at the risk of her emotional well-being) is ridiculous. Locking her in a room o ...more
This was a nice strong sequel to the first book in the series. There were a few things that make it even more enjoyable. For one, all the set up and introductions to the Dark Protector world have pretty much been established so the story could focus more on the plot and characters. And for another thing, I liked the main characters better. I enjoyed how the story took me further with the main story thread and a few of the other other continuing threads even while placing much of the emphasis on ...more
Great read. Action packed, strong alpha males and the women who love them even though they fight with them every inch of the way. But hey the sex is great and these gals get theirs.
I really enjoyed Dage and Emma's story, mostly because of Dage, he one hot King. Emma was to pigheaded for my taste but thanks to Dage's strength and courage I was able to overlook that.
I love all of the males in this series, Talen, Conn, Jase, Jordan and Caleb, all of them are so fierce and yummy.

Okay, I mis-spoke. I liked the first one, but the second tanked about half way in. The dialogue got hokey, the characters started repeating themselves and the plot tanked. Too bad. I really wanted to like this one and it really started with a bang. I'm undecided about whether I'll read the 3rd or anymore by this author. She really needs to work on planning the story so it doesn't just crap out.

I don't think I'd recommend this book to anyone and that's unfortunate. The premise was good and the fi
Boring, altrough I loved Emma and Dage this book was hard for me to finish. 3/4 of the book is centered on the virus and the search for the vaccine, Dage keep doing his neanderthal man things, Emma is pissed but almost immediatly she gives.
Too little action the plot was flat, I wanted to see more of Emma kicking Dage's ass, all her strenght and combativeness flee out of the window after the first 'I love you' wich, btw, doesn't ring true at all.
I love spitfire characters, but gone is the woman

I will admit... when I came into the paranormal romance scene, I was a little spoiled. I just happen to fall into some of the best series right off the bat (which is probably how I came to be a fan). When on the first few times into this genre, I happen to hit the jackpot of Dark Hunters, Black Dagger Brotherhood, Immortals After Dark, and Demonica, those are tough acts to follow. As a result, when I hit a series that is better than average, but not spectacular, I get very picky... The Dark Prot ...more

Okay, so this book was a little bit better with it's Alphanmaleness compared to Fated. However, I continue to be amazed and flabbergasted by the Kayrs men and their desire to "break" their women. I mean seriously...who talks that way?!?

In the beginning of the book, Dage is awesome! He is sweet and thoughtful and treats Emma in a decent way. However, by the end of the book he is a complete ass! I mean to the point of threatening to break through her emotional shields without her permission which
