This one started out well, but became increasingly "out there" as it went on. One of the book strengths, the author's own experience, turned on itself as his own coincidences kept interesecting with the story. First, his father knew the "Dr. Mary" of the title (OK); Second, while in college, he just happened to date a girl who just happened to be renting an old apartment of David Ferrie's where the thousands of mice were kept (I was OK with that, New Orleans isn't that big ...more

This one was hard to rate. The information in the book could be fantastic if it were presented better. I really feel that the author could have made a much more convincing argument had the layout of his book been a little different. Totally worth reading if conspiracy is your thing, but be prepared to spend time going back over sentences and trying to follow the chronology.

This book was totally obsessing. I couldn't put it down. If these facts are true it is pretty scary.

Such a complicated plot - my book club had many discussions about this book. The author raises many thought provoking questions that you will think about long after you have finished reading the book. The involvement of so many high profile characters is interesting. I think the author has done extensive research but he should have used an editor to make his book an easier read. This book is a must read for those who grew up in south Louisiana.

Very well researched and documented, this book was surprisingly good. Did polio vaccines given in the '50's contain monkey viruses which are contributing significantly to the cancer epidemic now? Was Lee Harvey Oswald a patsy, as he claimed he was? The author has done a tremendous amount of research and is to be commended for taking such great care in his interviews. I thought this was interesting and well written.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the intriging theories of Hasham. And being from New Orleans, I could really get caught up in the people and places he discussses...I've either been there or driven by or grew up near where all this supposedly took place. Very interesting.

The perfect conspiracy theory book is one whose facts the reader cannot disprove. Far fetched, but I could not disprove anything. What a read! Do yourself a favor and go for this one.

Much of this is difficult to believe, but the most disturbing parts are difficult not to believe. An entertaining and thought provoking conspiracy book, I recommend it.
