I think I am in Love with Christian, the main character in Grayton Beach Affair. It happened so quickly I was not even aware until I realized that I was almost at the end of the book and would have to let him go. Christian is German but was raised in America and even graduated from Georgia Tech. After World War I though, Germans in America faced discrimination and he and his parents were no exception. After his parents died he decided to go back to Germany and start a new life for himself. A Ge ...more

Christian Wolfe speaks perfect English. That is why the German-born man is strong-armed into rescuing a German POW from an American beach after he returns to Berlin during World War II. Christian is drawn into a covert mission against his will but meets troubled, beautiful Maggie Neal during that time. For two days, at Grayton Beach, Maggie and Christian begin an affair.

This book reminded me of an old fashioned TV miniseries. I liked the storyline, and the two main characters were likable. It was an enjoyable spy/war story mixed into a love story. I wish the story had gone on a bit more. I'm always the reader who says after reading the last chapter, but then what? How does that all work out?
This book is by a brand new Atlanta author. A good plot with lots of twists and turns, especially at the end.
Thriller-suspense novel with romance and a military theme that takes place, partly in the panhandle of Florida.

James Harvey was born in a small textile and farming town in South Alabama just a few miles from the town portrayed in To Kill A Mockingbird. His family was a poor, but genteel southern family more resembling a Tennessee Williams story than Margaret Mitchell. Harveys grandparents owned a home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida where he spent summers and heard stories of World War II German submarine ac ...more
