It's very hard to top a book like Water Bound, but this is a very good follow up. I think that Lev and Stefan managed to feel different although they are brothers, both very dominant, possessive, dangerous, edgy, and surprisingly passionate men. I'm not going to lie and say that I wouldn't have liked Stefan even if he was too much like Lev. I just have no resistance to this kind of character. But, I am glad that I liked him in a different way. Lev started out very rough and turned into, not a pu...more

Ahem. Review revised from original comments whereupon I used foul and negative language to express my displeasure with GR for losing my original review, which I labored over for at least 40 minutes;) Ms. Feehan does not deserve to have my juvenile (though justified) tantrum associated with her fine, fine book:)

In brief: Russians and kaleidoscopes and spirit elements, oh my! This easily could have been the silliest book I've read all year, but Christine Feehan can, apparently, make me love *anyth...more

A story of betrayal, lies, assassination, undeniable attraction, obsession and elemental magic.

Spirit Bound is the second novel in the Sea Haven series. This book is the story of Stefan Prakenskii and Judith Henderson.

After years of tracking down the criminals responsible for crimes against his country and months of undercover work in a prison as Jean-Claude's cell mate, Stefan is ordered to set up a cover in Sea Haven and gain Judith's trust. Using an identity other than his own, Stefan deceive...more

Favorite Quote: “..he was drowning in the need to be a better man.”

Stefan Prakenskii is working undercover in a French prison, trying to uncover the location of a secret microchip. He believes his cell mate, Jean-Claude LaRoux, stole the microchip but that’s not what interests Stefan. It’s the hundreds of pictures of a single woman that decorates the cell. A beautiful solitary woman who speaks to Stefan through the photographs. When hi...more
I have been a big fan of Christine Feehan for years. I've read every one of her Carpathian novels and most from her Game series. That being said, this was the first of the Sea Haven series that I've read and I was very disappointed.

Our two main characters: Judith Henderson is an artist who has stopped making the incredible pieces she used to make because she is haunted by the death of her brother, which she blames herself for. She also has distinct trust issues concerning men, which are underst...more

The Drake Sisters series remains one of my favorites by Christine Feehan (Jonas and Hannah’s story is my most reread by far…ah Jonas!). The idea behind this series is each book follows one of 7 sisters, each with their own special talent. The youngest of seven sisters will in turn have 7 daughters, and the legacy continues. One of the Drake sisters married Ilya Prakenskii, the youngest of 7 brothers – brothers who were scattered and separated at young age...more
3.5 Stars..... I wanted to give it a 4 star bit it didn't quite make it for me but thought 3 stars was too low. I did like this book but found it a bit slow in places and I wandered off several times to read something else! However I did obviously come back to it. I struggled to feel the romance between the H/h and it often felt like I was reading 2 seperate stories which only intermingled when we can across a sex scene. I know that it was important to give us insight to Stefan's upbringing and...more

Judith Henderson is an artist that puts her whole heart and soul into her work. And since she is an
element, with a strong psychic gift connected to spirit, that means that she puts a lot more than just passion into it, and it shows. But after an unfortunate occurrence in Paris, which leads to her brother's death in Greece, she suddenly finds herself unable to cont...more

Recommends it for: fans of paranormal romance
This is as good as the first in the series, or the Drake Sisters series that preceded it. Jonas appears in this one, in time to save the day and create more paperwork. Again there is suspense mixed with some supernatural.

I did not give this book the best rating because I am not sure Feehan gave me enough information to understand just what she meant by a "spirit elemental", which our heroine is. I think the characterizations and settings and plot were superb.

I love this kind of theme, where the...more
I am what you might consider a pretty big fan of Christine Feehan. I've read every one of her books many more than once. This new series Sisters of the Heart is good but I'm struggling with the love i felt for the Drake sisters series. I'm not quite there in feeling for this new series what i felt for the Drakes. I love that the new series is set in Sea Haven and that the Drakes are somewhat included but not enough for me at this point. Book number two Spirit Bound is was really good once i got...more

*This book is a sequel to Water Bound*

I can't think of a way to summarize without spoilers, so here goes...

Lethal undercover agent Stefan Prakenskii knew a thousand ways to kills a man—and twice as many ways to pleasure a woman. That’s what made him look forward to his new mission: arrive in the coastal town of Sea Haven and insinuate himself in the life of an elusive beauty who had mysterious ties to his past, and a link to a dangerously seductive, and equally elusive master crimi...more
Spirit Bound by Christine Feehan
Paranormal Romance Dec. 27th, 2011
4 ½ stars

Sprit Bound is the second book in a series about women from varying backgrounds with elemental powers who find each other and create a haven in a small village known as Sea Haven. Together they have built a small but successful farm. (It is not necessary to have read the first book, Water Bound, but some characters do tie in from that book and the Drake sisters series.)

Judith Henderson is haunted by a mistake she made whe...more
Spirit Bound is Christine Feehan’s second book in her Sister’s of the Heart series which is a spin-off of sorts from Ms Feehan’s Drake Sister’s series.
Spirit Bound is a follow on from Water Bound which while I enjoyed it I didn’t love it and think that should have been a clue for me on how I was going to react to this series. I usually really enjoy Ms Feehan’s books but I’ve been struggling with her Sister’s of the Heart series and although I didn’t have any problems with reading Water Bound I d...more
This is really 3 1/2 stars.

First of all I really like this series, so I wish that I could have given the book a better grade. I did read the book very fast and enjoyed it for the most part, but there were things that happened during the book that pulled me out of that 1/2 star. I liked Stefan and glad that he has been reunited with Lev, but the brothers don't get to meet up with Ilya yet. I feel there is going to be a big brother's reunion book in the works. I thought that Judith was a good fit...more
The second book in the Sisters of Heart series, this one was about Judith. I found this book very entertaining and really liked watching Judith and Stefan together. I also realize that pretty much every book in this series (and also in her Drake series which this is an extension of) is the same and as long as I acknowledge that, it doesn't really bother me.

It did take me a few pages to remember who was who and what was going on, but there was some extra foundation at the beginning that clued me...more
For me a lot of the attraction of this book is the interaction between the siblings. You have the brothers, who were ripped apart as kids, yet still have that connection. Then there are the sisters, who aren't tied by blood, but by choice. The scenes where the boys teamed up and sort of bonded about their past and Levi warned Stefan off had me laughing and holding my breath. The scenes with the sisters supporting each other and urging each other past their comfort zones were fun too. I loved see...more
I'm not a huge fan of paranormal romance, but Christine Feehan is one author who's Sea Haven books I've enjoyed. I enjoyed Spirit Bound and coming to find out what made Judith so angry and reserved. I also loved seeing Stefan fall in love and become a better man.

What bothered me was how many times Ms.Feehan repeated how Stefan was a trained sex machine with no emotions. I stopped counting after the fourth of fifth time when it went beyond annoying to aggravating.

It was nice to see Lev and Rikki...more

I've really enjoyed Ms. Feehan's various series, and after loving Water Bound, I couldn't wait to see where this new series was headed. Unfortunately, this book had waaaay too much telling and not enough showing. I could skim through entire passages and not miss anything.

I did like the interaction between Stefan and his younger brother Lev in the book. Their relationship was the high point of the book, which is disappointing, since I really wanted to see more of the romance between Ju...more

Another great entry. I'm really enjoying this series. I suppose this one didn't quite have the same interest as the first one as the heroine in the first book was autistic and that was interesting all by itself, but certainly I enjoyed the continuing story of the "sisters".
Spirit Bound (Sisters of the Heart #2) by Christine Feehan

I love Christine Feehan. She writes action and romance mixes in some psychic or paranormal and a good story.
I was a little leery about this spin-off of the Drake sisters series when the heroine of Water Bound (Sisters of the Heart #1) turned out to be a high functioning autistic. But Ms. Feehan handled it with grace and I looked forward to the next. Spirit Bound is Judith’s story. When she and Stefan Prakenskii get together it is smoking...more

Was surprisingly great read. I like that there was greater inclusion of the 'sisters' and how their lives are woven together. Stefan was a great male lead because the reader can hate him in one moment and find redemption for him in the next. Judith was a little too all-over the place for my liking but this was clearly Feehan's intent for her personality. For all of this story's merit, I like Water Bound more. Still, I am eager to read the next book and I hope more of the hot Russian brothers mak...more

I'm not sure how I feel about this book or even the series.

The storyline is likable enough, mainly because it's set in Sea Haven which would only be new to someone who had never read the Drake Sisters. How could we not want to revisit that quaint, little town with the nice people and gorgeous scenery. We also get some glimpses of some beloved characters in that series- so far, Jonas. But others have been named- and we've gotten a bit of updates on them.

This book was just too quick in its passin...more
This series came out of the Sisters series so I expect we can find 5 other books.

Here is my main problem with this series, Stefan Prakenskii acts and struggles like every other Prakenskii we have seen so far. In fact, he is the SAME personality of the Russian friend Aleksandr Volstov. I can appreciate a tortured warrior and all, but enough is enough. Can we have a unique personality?

I will try the next book, but I think it might be time to find another author.
3-1/2 stars.
On the whole I liked this. Sometimes there was too much magic stuff and many times there were too many sex scenes. I can overlook the over use of magic better than the over use of love scenes. At least the magic was part of the action but the sex scenes mostly just interrupted. Still I liked the hero and how he was so overcome with the heroine and how he felt about her and how open he was that he needed her. She was much more of a nonentity.

Stefan Prakenskii comes to Sea Haven with a duel mission, find a missing government microchip, and make sure his brother was safe. What he ended up with, was his very own, fallen angel, Judith Henderson.

Judith does not trust. Not herself, or anyone else. Being drawn to Thomas Vincent, aka Stefan, she struggles to control her emotions, when all she can do, is feel alive with him.

An excellent addition to the Sea Haven sagas.

I am NOT a seasoned Christine Feehan reader. In fact, this is the first book I read ALL the way through by her. I was pulled in from the beginning. Intriguing, different, and very passionate. Just what was needed to combat the boredness that settles in. Also, this book does quip my interest in wanting to read more of this series AND other series by this author. Which is exactly why this author is an excellant writer.

But, there were times, this attention deficeit individual got a bit bored with t...more
This is the second book in the Sisters of the Heart series. Stefan is in jail to get close to a bad guy. He is trying to find a microchip with some damning information on it. The bad guy, Jean-Claude La Roux, has photos of a woman all over the wall. Stefan thinks she is the most beautiful woman he has seen. He is supposed to get La Roux broken out of jail and find the chip but his orders changed. He is being sent to Sea Haven to keep an eye on the woman in case La Roux shows up. He knows somethi...more

Liked first book much more. Slow begining. It was okay, but I was really looking forward to it. Obviously Blair is already ran into one of the brothers. I guess she will be the next book. Her rubbing her hand, and know the priest.

So, I have to tell you, I really grew to hate this book. In fact, I stopped listening to it when I was on section 18 of 21, because it was just making me too angry. I didn’t set out to hate it! I was really looking forward to it – Christine Feehan was my gateway author into vampire romance with her Dark series. I loved her Drake Sisters series even more. Spirit Bound is even set in the same town and world as the Drake Sisters series. I went into this book expecting it to be pretty good, but thin...more
