The thing about Save the Date is that you have to view it as a satire, because there is no way to ever take this story seriously otherwise. While it has its cute moments, the story is so exaggerated and clichéd that it’s impossible not to facepalm.

That may be personal though, or I did not do my homework well. I was under the impression that this was an adult chick lit when I bought it. That is not the book’s fault, but mine. It was not an adult chick lit at all – instead, I found myself in the h

Oh me, oh my. One way to describe this book would be "interesting". Another would be "lacking" or "clichéd" or "OTT". After all, it's a book about weddings, bridezillas, a 'Wedding Curse' and a forever bridesmaid. What could you expect?

Inge's review sums up perfectly everything I felt with this book. Even though she warned me off it a gazillion times, my curiosity took the better of me... and look how that's turned out.

Okay, okay. I'll admit it. I'm a sucker for chicklits, a
Teenie-chick-lit with a high fun-factor. The story (High-school-junior and uncomplicated youngest sister in a set of six believes herself to be responsible for a wedding day curse, vows not to bring a date to a wedding again, but falls in love with the her sister's wedding-planners son.) was not that exceptional and the romance part did not reach me very deeply. But I enjoyed the humor a lot. The five elder sisters' very diverse characters are depicted with a hilarious exaggeration and the contr ...more

Jakarta (also known as "Jack") is determined never to fall in love or get married. She's seen her five sisters deal with boys and doesn't think they are worth the hassle. Plus, she's doomed by the "wedding curse": her dates at her sisters' weddings have turned out disastrous.

Two of her sisters are planning summer weddings and she's involved but sticking to her vow to not get herself into a relationship.

Then she meets Leo. He is the wedding planner's so

This was FUN.

I must say that there are some very creative wedding disasters in this story. I also liked the different ways that the author demonstrated the budding attraction between Leo and Jakarta. It wasn't your usual, y'know? Definitely sexy but they don't take themselves too seriously.
I think one of the main themes in the book revolves around Jakarta's parents' unconditional love for all their crazy daughters. Especially the father because he is just overrun in an estrogen-filled house but

Here goes...

This is the kind of book that I love to read... quick, fluffy, romantic reads. But this book... it's quick, fluffy and ZERO romance.

Come on! The guy in this book that's supposed to make me feel "first-kiss-tingles, butterfly-in-stomach-feeling" screams GAY, GAY, GAY!

No straight guy I know helps his mom as an assitant wedding planner. PUHLEASE! Maybe as a driver or so... but on-hand with weddings? Okay, maybe not gay but is in touch with his feminine side...? Who am I kidding? still

This book is a good mixture of hilarious and serious. I spent two days on it; just reading the first 2 chapters I fell in love. I loved reading it because my cousin is going through a wedding phase and is planning everything around big puffy dresses, so instantly I connected with the author. My mom recommended this book to me because she thought it would brighten my mood about things, and boy was she right! I'd recommend this for anyone 13 and up because there are some slightly inappropriate sp

Actually this book should be in the jr. girly fiction department, because i didn't realize it was YA when I bought it. It has a really cute cover, (the beach with flip flops) and was with a bunch of other romance/fiction paperbacks, so i figured it was a fun beach read. (It was, just the main character was younger than I expected). enjoyable, I might check out some of her other works too.
Maybe I'm finally "outgrowing" these books, or maybe this one just wasn't very good. Whatever the reason, I wasn't very fond of it. The characters were boring, and I couldn't wait for all the wedding stuff to be over.

Really had some good laughs in this one. I loved it and glad I gave this a read <3

I have a slight problem when I read books about “sisterly love”. I don’t understand it. Genuinely don’t get it. I don’t have any sisters. I have one brother and when we got mad, we fought and I mean literally fought (with fists flying and waterworks galore). Once he actually bit me. Bit me! And when we argued it was mainly swear words with the rest being complete nonsense. Back to my main point, sisterly love is interesting to read about, but I have no context for whether or not it’s realistic.

I picked this book up on a whim because I thought it'd be fun to read about someone else's crazy wedding to help me through all my own wedding planning stuff. What I ended up with was a total surprise-this was the perfect read. I loved all the characters-each sister is different which adds a fun dynamic to the story and the romance between Jack and Leo is perfect. Leo is totally a book boy crush-he's charming, he's sweet, he's hot, and he brings wedding cake samples-he couldn't be any more perfe ...more

Karena review di Goodreads bagus banget, maka saya setengah mati nyari buku ini. And it turned out... well, sama sekali nggak mengecewakan.

Uhm, well, Jakarta sendiri sih nggak segitu exci

4.5 stars!

This book is painfully hilarious. If that makes sense. Lol. I love the way the story goes. I love every dialogue. Everything that is supposed to make the readers laugh made me laugh. That's how good the humor is in this book.

And I love the names of the sisters. PLACES, PLACES. They're cute :D

The sisters.

Alexandria. Seriuos. Fine.
Sydney. Didn't feel her presence. Fine too, I guess.
Victoria. Nagger. Overly romantic. Fine.
Paris. SUPER ANNOYING. Selfish. Not fine.
Sofia. Super kind. She's

this book will definitely be in my 'My Most Favorite Novels'. You know why!!because i absolutely love this book!! i mean what's not to love about this book!! it is completely hilarious, also downright romantic and... full of drama!! i love just about everything in this book!! i just adore the characters!! they are presented in a such a way that
Kardeşlerinin gelin olma arifesindeyken geçirdikleri dönüşüm o ...more
I love Leo and Jack! I love them a loooot! I felt sorry a lot for Jack but also at the same time I want to hit her on the head because she doesn't see that Leo would be very good for her! Clearly, they're perfect for each other. I love Sofia. I hate Paris. Or not so much. She just annoys me a lot. I loved this quite a lot :))

(This was a lame review, though I've always forgotten to make this. Haha but really, I love this :))

A perfectly funny, splendid romance about girl who has always been a bridesmaid - two, soon to be four, times. She has suffered from the Wedding Curse, meaning that she can't possibly bring a date to either wedding she's a bridesmaid at this summer. But the wedding planner's son is making it awfully difficult to resist...

I love that this book was a happy, short read. If you're in a slump, this just might help!

Pretty meh. I hated all the sisters, save for Sofia; and I couldn't quite tell why Sofia was everyone's favorite anyways. There wasn't much development of Jack/Leo's relationship, and the only reasons Jack gave me that she liked Leo was because he was hot (by the way, how exactly are yoyos attractive) and nice. Although I was sympathetic for Jack, I also wanted to smack her for stupidity and overall lameness.
I wanted something fluffy, and I got something very fluffy ;). But while this was fun to read on that level, it was simply sooo unrealistic. I mean, I am pretty sure a guy like Leo does not exist anywhere in this world. It's just not possible. He is extremely good looking, he works for his mother the wedding planner and is even interested in all that wedding stuff and he pursues Jack endlessly although she says she doesn't want to date him - which she of course wants, but she is scared of the we ...more

Wow, Jakarta ( I know, weird name) have some serious superstition with this.
Patrick, her ex, a geek, had dumped her at her sister's wedding

She has 6 sisters, and their parents all name them after the country they're been too.

Will Leo win her trust, help her through good and bad times and life the wedding curse?

A fun, light read. Just flip through the pages as you go with Jack, yes she's a girl and it's short for Jakarta and yes she's named after the capital of Indonesia, as she goes through the drama of her sisters crazy weddings (take note it's more than one!), her 'Wedding Curse' theory, throw in a gorgeous boy she avoids dating at all cost and you got one unique story about family and how they always come first no matter what. :)

I really like this book, but can't give it 3 stars due to the teenage sex. I hate that this is becoming more normal in YA fiction. It would have been a cute, funny read without it.

Okay, uhm, this novel was definitely too cheery and enthusiastic for me. There was at least one word in CAPLOCKS on every page, pretty much. It got pretty annoying after a while, and the plot line was pretty predictable and bland. Nothing special happened, and the romance wasn't that intense or really there. I mean between Leo and her, they're both pretty flat characters. I skimmed a lot of parts, but I still got the gist of what was going on. But where Leo and her have (view spoiler) ...more

I really liked this book. It was funny but really cute and sweet. I read it pretty fast and thought Jack's theory was a little ridiculous but in a funny way and glad she saw it for herself. I also liked how Leo was the one who pushed for a relationship, often in books the girl makes a fool of herself and/or admires from afar and seems to be the driving force to make a relationship even if the guy did like them. I liked this better, it seemed sweeter on Leo's part that he seemed to care for her s ...more
I read this the couple of days before getting married for fun, not realizing the protagonist is a teen and that the whole thing would be silly and stressful not cute and sweet. it had its moments, but it seems more for young girls than older women. plus, the main couple are completely unbelievable as characters.

I seriously love this book! I finished it in one whole day, although I would've wanted to read more of it. Seriously, Leo is the perfect guy. I would've wanted to read more of them; I get so giddy with their moments :3

Although I wanted to rip Paris apart every sinle time she appeared in the book, I'm glad she did what she did, or else there would be a lower chance of Leo and Jack (Jakarta) happening.

All in all, it was a really funny (one of those books that literally make you laugh-out-loud),
