This was pretty good for a teen chick lit book. Several twists kept it interesting, and I didn't expect the last twist at the end. It kept me guessing, which I appreciate!

The PLDs have been together since the 5th grade. Sylvia Orly is the tyrannical head of the group, followed by Carolyn Bosch, the lesbian, Megan Williams, the fashionista, and Ellen Schmidt, the misfit of the group. Breeona Wu is the seco

You know, even at the ripe old age of 34, I still remember the cliques in high school. There were the popular kids, the stoners, the geeks, the band geeks, etc. None of our cliques had cool names like the Pretty Little Devils, but we made do with what we had anyway. At first glance this book appears to take you back (if you're out of high school) to your high school days, or if you're still in high school, remind you of your place in the social net...but this book is so much more than a typical ...more

I could not put this book down! It had me guessing until the end who the culprit was because it literally could have been anybody! My initial guess at who it was was NOT who it was and that is all I am saying on that before I spill the beans but it basically has your usual clique of popular girls that everybody wants to be or in this story wants a piece of.

Sylvia was an awesome character...played her part to the hilt as the original queen biatch who tried to rule all her queens courts lives bet

I tried really, really hard to read this over a 2 year period. I put it down, tried reading chapters inbetween other books... just about everything. I just couldn't get interested in this book.

I'm not sure why this didn't catch on with me because it's not like I dislike Holder's work or that it's poorly written. I'm reading another one of her books (Possession) which is decent enough. It's also not like I can't get into YA fiction- it's actually one of my most favorite things to read. For whate

Pretty Little Devils was a great book. It was about a bunch of girls in high school in this group called the pretty little devils. They are the most popular girls in school. They rule the school, they can get away with whatever they want to. It always helps when they are cheerleaders. It's there junior year in high school. - My Description -
Hazel Stone would give anything to be one of The Pretty Little Devils or PLDs.

The head cheese, Sylvia finally recruits Hazel.

Bad things begin to happen to Hazel.
Threatening phone calls. Harassing emails. Animals die. People die. Terrible stuff.

- My Review -
Wow, this book reminds me of one of the reasons why I hated school. The elites, cliques and peer pressure.

All in all, it was a good mystery. My suspicions kept changing of who I thought the culprit was.

Pretty Little Liars: the Prequel.

This book was so heavily reminiscent of the Pretty Little Liars series—up to the point where I'd call PLL a rendition of this. All the lies, cyber-bullying, cliques, mysteries, pretty girls with sketchy histories..."Pretty Little Liars" v "Pretty Little Devils"?

Is anyone seeing this? Anyone?

Similarities aside, this was a one-in-ten contemp that will satisfy the typical YA reader. Duly unimpressive, though.

This was a great book.It was about a girl named Hazel who wanted to be in the popular group that called themselfs the pretty little devils A.K.A plds. Here wish was granted she became popular. With that she found out being popular comes with unpleasent suprise.I recommend the book for teens or pre-teens with there being bad language and inupropriate parts as well uther wise this is a great book and I rated it 5 stars

I can't believe I just now found this book. It came out around the same time as some of my favorites. It is like a cross between Kate Brian's Private and Pretty Little Liars but came out before them. I loved this book. The story line is awesome and addicting it kept me guessing until the end and the last page was awesome. I don't want to give anything away since it is a mystery but I loved it!!!!

This book is kind of scary. It's a mistery and the author leads the reader through all of the events that happen to Hazel and the Pretty Little Devils, to where (at the end) the author reveals the mistery murderer! (NOTE: DON'T SKIP TO THE VERY LAST PAGE! IT WILL JUST RUIN THE WHOLE STORY!)

The purpose if the author for writing the book; Pretty Little Devils was for teenagers to become aware that being themselves is the key to personal fulfillment. The book portrays Hazel, as a normal teenager that somehow craved the attention of people and wanted to feel that she fitted in. In the middle of finding herself, she lost herself by trying to be something she was not and by doing everything the PLD’s thought was “cool”. She became the most hated girl in school in a matter of days and w ...more

Soon, Hazel is one of them and feels on top of the world. This is, admittedly, one of my judged-by-a-cover books.

I was simply browsing through the books in the Dollar Tree when I came across this book. Both the title and cover seemed promising enough, so I sent out to purchase it in hopes that it was worth the dollar (YAY for dollar books!). Anywho, I had read the back of the book and noticed how remotely similar it was to Pretty Little Liars...

Was it?

Pshyeah.

Actually it was more like a mix of PLL and The Lying Game, both ironically written by the sam

This is amazaing. Simply amazing. The story tells about the coming into the in-crowd of Hazel and how her life changes completely when she started hanging out with her new friends.

What I like about the story is that the author has written it very well. She described the characters clearly that I was able to picture them as to how they were described in the book. The thrill of finding out who was the real culprit didn't let me put the book down. I read it in a matter of hours. The excitement was

My third review today people I am on a roll! So, this book is reminiscent of what I know about the pretty little liars series. The blog entries remind me of the notes on the back of each pretty little liars book. But, besides that, this book is decent. So I'm done.
Wait, am I? Nope, I'm not.

So, this book is about Hazel, a girl who would kill to be popular, no pun intended. I didn't like Hazel but I'm pretty sure that holder didn't write her to be liked. Regardless, the character had her ups and d

Nancy Holder, you are the queen of mystery & suspense.

I'll admit it, I thought I had the killer pegged after only 100 pages in, and I wasn't swaying. Usually I rock at guessing the killers but, needless to say, I was so far off. So bravo, Nancy, you fooled me!

This novel kept me on my toes, wondering who would be next, who would be the next suspect. The crank calls were definitely eerie (I know I would flip out if some weirdo was crank calling me like that). Sylvia definitely has the group w
