This book features a discussion of "nine spiritual principles that can be applied by anyone desiring to take charge of their life. When it was initially published in 1997 Dyer also released a CD based on the "Seventh Principle: Meditating to the Sound of Creation." In summary, Dyer proposes that sound can be used to alter our own vibrational frequency so as to consciously attract people, things, and situations into our lives.

I actually put this tool into practice in the late 1990s, intent on fo

"I have the divine ability to manifest and attract what i need or desire"...this sentence from the book basically sums up the message from Dr Dyer. The central theme of this book is that we have the power within ourselves to attract to us everything that we want. He lays this out in nine principles :
1) Becoming aware of your highest self
2) Trusting yourself is trusting the wisdom that created you
3) You are not an organism in an environment: you are an environorganism
4) You can attract to yoursel

In this series, Dyer's focuses on the power of manifesting what you desire. To him, there's a lot of truth that if you ask and believe in something you shall get it. Of course, this goes against the logic of the age but some things can't be quantified, can they?

The audio series is very much about washing the garbage out of your head and moving forward with more inspiration. Real life examples are given as proof and it's up to the listener to deciee whether they believe or do not believe it.

In the age of computers and electronic devices
I am never without a book.
When I was reading this book the saying occurred to me.
You are today where your thoughts brought you you are tomorrow where your thoughts take you. By James Allen
This book is an exploration along those lines but much deeper than that.
A very convincing argument that we can achieve our deepest desires.

I've read/listened to at least one or two other Dyer books and find them to be quite nice. They help you re-focus your energy in a healthy way. As a non-religious person, I can still appreciate the allusions to religious texts, as I recognize a lot of common ground. This is an easy read, more or less, but it took me a while to finish (two weeks), partially because it's helpful to digest the info. My mind would wander, but I'd bring it back and refocus. I've seen some of this stuff happen in my o ...more

I consider Wayne Dyer to be the West's version of a guru. He has been writing fabulous self-help books for over 30 years. As he continues to evolve his own wisdom, he expertly translates complex, universal spiritual principles into convenient, readable formats that most of us can understand right away. This is one of my favorite books written by Dr. Dyer but all of his books are a good place to start for people seeking more self-knowledge.

This is a book to read and reread as I work toward living as a being interconnected to everyone and everything. I especially loved the ninth principle of gratitude for all that comes into my life -- focusing on the positive (all that is right and good) rather than the negative (what is missing). That's a great lesson for the holidays and for the start of a new year. Easier said than done!

Almost everyone to whom I've recommended this book has commented on how little they care for the title, but I hope some of them were able to get past that and read it, because it really is one of the best spiritual guides of our time. One of its main strengths is in its pithiness and warmth - it can be read in an afternoon, and savored for years. Every time I go back to it, I find new insights that I didn't catch before, because my priorities had changed. The central theme of the book is the One

Wayne Dyer passed away recently and I have a few of his books on my shelf. Whenever I travel, I have a penchant to take along a book that helps me to focus and re-evaluate where I am. I grabbed this one off the shelf and read it in bits and pieces over the last few weeks. Dyer made a living helping others with numerous books and talks, some presentations which you can find online via a google search. I have always admired such people who dedicate themselves to helping others get the most from th ...more

I have studies these principles for many years...the Law of Attraction...Attitude of Gratitude...etc., so this book was a bit too basic for me. I thought it laid out the 9 spiritual principles nicely for the novice, but didn't offer many new thoughts...as always though, you can always learn something. I do enjoy Dyer straightforward way of presenting ideas and giving people the 'key' to happiness. Whether you call it Universe, God, Yahweh, etc, you can find a connection with these areas of study ...more

I respect Wayne Dyer and enjoy the principles, however, the writing style grates against me. I listened to the audio version and was surprised when Wayne, reading his own book, re-enacted "procreation sounds." Didn't expect that.

2. Trusting yourself is trusting the wisdom that created you
3. You're not an organism in an environment you're a environorganism

This book I read just after starting into reading in Search of Man's meaning, both helped me get a vision of what is important in life and work and Manifest Destiny helped me many long lonely nights in a Hospital in Bellevue Washington actually take inventory in me, my work and helped me right a book that became a plan for my business. (Marketing / Sales Manual) Ultimately it taught me as I was reading and writing the importance of laws of attraction. As I wrote and walked the halls of the hospi ...more

I think Dyer lost me in the moment he plagiarised ideas by relating the old "it made a difference to that one" chestnut as something that happened to him. We all know this story: Two people walking on the beach, and one is tossing stranded starfish back into the sea. The other asks "Why are you doing that? Look at all the starfish here. You'll never get them all, so you can't possibly make a difference." The reply is "It made a difference to that one."

The origins of the story are murky (I even t

Dr. Dyer writes about law of attraction principles long before The Secret was published.

He reviews 9 principles on how to create the life you desire. I found his explanations of the principles to be easy to understand and also easy to practice.

If you have ever struggled with understanding and successfully using law of attraction principles, this is the book for you.

For anyone who is not familiar with the foundations of law of attraction, it may be a bit too deep.

Well all I can say is Wow!

Ok I can say more than that. This book is amazing if you are in the right space to take it in. I have gained much from it and I know that I have a long way to go. I will be reading it again shortly. I have taken a heap of notes and I have been using them to help me on my journey.

This is my second time reading this book and I know I was not in the right space to gain from it. Oh so different now.

Working with the Law of Attraction, the author posits nine rules for getting what you want, which rely heavily on realizing that your are God, and that you can attract anything you set your mind on. You need to meditate, detactch from the outcome, and practice gratitude and generosity. That's it, really. Do it. Now.

Indeed, a fascinating piece. The author showed his own version of Manifest Destiny |JW essay sample| concept. This is book is a worthwhile read. Probably, it won't teach you a life lesson but still there is something you can learn from it, like how to take charge of thoughts, desires and goals or how to try finding what you really need.

I just couldn't get into this book. It was a little too preachy on the spiritual side for me. I don't mind some spiritual elements, but this one just seemed to ignore reality and went straight for the preachiness.
