This book may only cover a year of her life, but Rhona Cameron covers the year in which she became an adult. When her father passed away I had to choke back the tears (I was in public), it was so moving and so heart-wrenchingly painful. She perfectly describes the pain of being a teenager, the insecurity and desperate longing to belong whilst wanting to maintain one's individuality. I was recommended this book by a friend of mine but to be honest...as much as I really, really wanted to like it, by the time I finished I thought "what was the point in that then?". I like Rhona Cameron's comedy and thought this might be worth a read but instead I found the writing bland. Bit disappointed but there we go.
