I can't believe how involved in this soap opera I am!

There's little hints that Nana K drops toward the end of the volumes - how this is all a flashback for her and she's telling this story far in the future.

This was a good one as the band Trapnest becomes involved with the band Blast. Or, rather, the members of Trapnest become re-involved with the members of Blast. Very complicated.

So many choices for Nana K to choose for her next love!

Silly but poignant. It's about growing up and I'm enjoying w

I'm completely addicted to Ai Yazawa's shojo manga Nana. Nana is the story of two young women, both from small towns, who meet on the bullet train and end up moving in together in Tokyo. Nana Komatsu (a.k.a. "Hachi") is a small-town girl who has big city dreams of romance and leaving her old life (and self) behind, while Nana Osaki has come to Tokyo to try to find success as the singer of her (psuedo) punk rock band, Blast. This all sounds like pretty standard fare so far, but once you throw in ...more

This was a fun and interesting volume, and I love Trapnest. I think its so sweet that Nana O. made a special treat for Hachi. I'm anxious to see where it goes from here and i enjoyed Takumi. I'm hoping that she wont read to much into that night because i don't want her to be disappointed and heartbroken again. I get why she did what she did and can't blame her or hold it against her she is an adult even if she is still immature. I want her to be able to appreciate the memory and let it be what i ...more

Poot Hachi- I thought she was growing and then... I have skimed other volumes so I know some of what comes, but still... I still love Nana O. She's such a cool customer. And what she and Ren have is deep. Gotta love Shin and his straight face

Oh god, enter Takumi.

I appreciate how intertwined everybody's lives are. It makes things so messy and emotional!

This is my third Nana volume today.
I'm obsessed.

It's not as good as Fruits Basket, but I love it.

The more I read those books, the more I love the characters!

Synopsis: Nana Komatsu is a 20 year old with a penchant for falling in love at first sight. After a year at art school, her best friend and her boyfriend move to Tokyo, so Nana decides to save up her money and follow them after a year.

Nana Osaki is a punk singer in the band Blast with her boyfriend Ren. When Ren gets an offer to join an up-and-coming band in Tokyo, he leaves Blast and Nina behind. A year later, Nina heads to Tokyo as well.

The two women meet by chance on the tr

Again it's a great book and this one actually makes me think of a few of my friends. I really hate seeing Hachi getting herself in the horrible situation she's gonna be in! T.T It's just not fair!! Ohhh I'm totally gonna cry just thinking about it!!!! T.T

While I adore the Nana series, this volume was so-so compared to the others. Not that it was bad or anything. Hell no, it was actually okay. But until this volume, Nana seemed to follow a pattern of realism in everyday life and love lives. But the whole Takumi x Nana thing was way too... dream like. It was just too easy and too perfect. I already know it ends well, so that's how I know it's too perfect. Unlike with Shoji and Nana, we see no development between Nana and Takumi. It was just 'I adm ...more

After the concert Nana O. and Ren find love again, and Nana K. feels lost and lonely. She is meeting lots of new friends and finds another painful romance.

I'm giving this volume 5 freaking stars exclusively for the scene at the beginning (view spoiler)

This is definitely more of a set-up volume, as much of the drama that had been building up has been partially resolved at this point.

God, I hope everything works out for these peeps. Five volumes in and I'm already worrying about imaginary people.

This is one of my favorites out of the Nana series. This is the only time I really sympathize with Haichi. I mean I think she was wrong that she couldn't just back out, but I know what it's like to feel so engulfed in someone.

I really like Nana and Ren as a couple. I hope to have love like that someday.

I also think Takumi is an asswipe and needs to get over himself.

This is the turning point where the story starts to get muddy and the whole mood of the series suddenly gets much heavier. I personally enjoyed the earlier half better, without all the betrayal and love triangles and such, but I have continued reading NANA just so I can finish it and see how the whole mess ends.

"But Nana... I want true love... Just like you do. I'd love to have something like you and Ren have. Hey Nana... Actually... I'm not okay at all. I don't want to have a one-night stand with Takumi. What should I do? Nana, I'm scared. But I think it's too late to turn back." - Nana K./Hachi
The characters are really good but I am already tired that the only things that happen to them so far are they fall in love, they fall out of love. They get a job, they lose a job. Something dramatic better happen soon or I will drop reading this.
