This book is a great tool for learning poetry. It provides many poems, all starting with the letters A and all the way to Z. In each letter that has a related poetry term or type of poem, it will say "Try This:..." and provide the definition, strategy, and examples of the "try this" it is referring to. For example, in "A" the book says "Try This: Acrostic Poem." It gives the definition of acrostic poem, three examples, and many strategies for writing your own acrostic poem. Some letters ha...more

This is an informational book that suggests that it is a guide for young writers. This book nicely gives examples of poems and tips that would beneifit the young asipring poerty writer.
