In my opinion, this is a book that anyone who is thinking about or is already involved in any type of social media MUST read. It is the basics of what you need to know in order to promote, publish and access anything online. From yahoo groups to nings Content Nation takes you step by step on where the most accessible places to publish anything are. Content Nation is an extremely thorough overview of the nuances and vagaries of social media. More than just an explanation of social media ("What is Twitter," etc.), Content Nation offers real world examples of how individuals, companies, politicians, and others have become content publishers through social media. If you are looking for a social media overview, we highly recommend this book. It will leave you reeling with ideas for your own social media campaigns.

This book was twice as long as it needed to be. While it had some good insights as to how social media has become a vehicle for altruistic human motives, it largely fails at it reads too much like a manifesto rather than a sober history of the rise of social media.
