Grave Consequences is book two in the Grand Tour series and at least the eighth book of Lisa Bergren's I've read. Having loved Glamorous Illusions (book one), I was anxious to dive into Grave Consequences and continue the "Grand Tour" journey!

I loved the main characters in Grave Consequences SO much. My favorite is Will - I couldn't help caring about him and what would happen in h

Really enjoyed this! There were a lot of great settings like Austria and Italy. That's where this series really shines I think - in the setting and historical details. It's rich in both.

With delight I rejoined the Kensington family on their tour across Europe in this second book in Bergren's engaging "Grand Tour" series. The first scene hit with the jolt of a train just starting its departure, and then I was right back into the rhythm of alternating setting descriptions, historical tidbits, family drama, and romance.

I love the adventure these characters manage to embrace at the various places they visit. It provides chances for intriguing plot twists and character growth, which

The very premise of this book boggles my mind. Spend weeks touring Europe just because you can, in the very lap of Royal luxury? I can't imagine! Doing so with several love interests, people who don't like you, people who want to kidnap you, and not knowing whom you can trust - I think I'd lose it.

With that said, the descriptions of each place visited in Europe are completely fascinating. As a total lover of history, I would love to stay in a Venetian palace, visit a French ruin, or climb a gla

Great second book. Romantic, adventurous, far away places (for me anyway) great characers. Loved the love triangle, wasn't too much. I took off 1/2 a star because there was a lot of history talk. I'm not a history buff/fan, and it got a little too much in spots for me, but not horrible. Overall great read, and can't wait for the next one.

Moral Note: Clean romance, clean language, some social drinking, and talk about drunk men, mild violence from a drunk man, mild smoking usage.

So many twists and turns, and things I did not see coming. LOVED this one too. Cannot wait for fall to read the 3rd book.

The Grand Tour series is yet another entertaining historical series from author Lisa Bergren. I don't believe I've read a book by Ms. Bergren that I didn't enjoy and recommend to fellow Christian romance fans. Grave Consequences, Lisa's latest novel is an interesting story to say the least. I'm still not sure if I like Cora's main love interest. I just could not connect with him and found myself liking the other gentleman soooo much more. The rest of the characters and story itself are terrific. ...more

Hooray! This second book in the Grand Tour series by Bergren did most certainly not disappoint in the least! It was absolutely riveting…I couldn’t stop reading. The story moves along quickly and smoothly through several fascinating European locations, following the travels and yes, drama, of Cora and her companions. It’s full of well-thought-out plot twists and turns that you most certainly will not suspect. Between those enthralling locations (can I go?! Please?!), gripping suspense (you won’t ...more

4.5 Stars. In two brief months, the course of Cora's life has irrevocably changed, leaving her reeling in its wake. From a future secure in the knowledge of her parents' love, with plans to attend Normal School and become a teacher, she discovered the life she'd always claimed as hers to be built on a lie. In truth the illegitimate daughter of copper baron Wallace Kensington, Cora's birth father swept into her life like a whirlwind, determined to bring Cora into the fold of his family and open h ...more

I have been looking forward to Lisa T. Bergren's second installment of the Grand Tour series since reading "Glamorous Illusions" last year. I didn't like "Grave Consequences" quite as much as the first novel, but it was still a great read.

Danger makes an appearance at the conclusion of "Glamorous Illusions" and continues to thread through "Grave Consequences," often lurking in the shadows of European landmarks. The sense of impending attack upon the travelling party lends a suspenseful edge to t

"How much did we do in life that was the result of what others around us demanded? Rather than what God was calling us to do?"

Cora Kensington has it hard. Taken from her comfortable country home and parents, she's brought into a well-to-do family she didn't know she belonged to until recently. Lime-light didn't seem to suit her, but now she has a part to play in it, and she must learn to cope with it. As well as her biological father's wishes for her.

This is the second book in Lisa T. Bergren's

Wow this series! I have recently become obsessed with Downton Abbey (as has my husband- hurray!) The Grand Tour series hints at this same glamorous time. I love reading about the clothing, the settings, and even the details of the food they eat. The author has a fantastic way of describing the surroundings of Cora without info dumping. I love that she has created this world of characters who both infuriate me and crawl their way into my

Another amazing book by Lisa Tawn Bergren, Grave Consequences once again stole me right back into the glamorous excitement of the Grand Tour. Everything about this series is just so fascinating! Will and Cora’s romance has to be one of the sweetest love stories ever, even though it is quite forbidden. Yet that only makes it sweeter still. I love a book that I can get lost into, and Grave Consequences was definitely one of those books!

Grave Consequences is the compelling companion to Glamourous Illusions and parallels its predecessor with a riveting plot, intriguing characters and palpable suspense that will satisfy even the most captious historical romance readers. With a group of personalities that are redeeming themselves for their cavalier and pretentious behaviours in the first instalment, Cora continues her sojourn across Europe's most renowned destinations and c

This series really took me on a beautiful guide of Europe, making me want to visit! Next time I'll have to read it with a map of Europe nearby because I wished I understood the references better. That was a little frustrating.

Cora not only traveled through Europe, but she traveled through love. She had to make decisions on whether she would pursue one or both of the men looking for her attention, Pierre and Will. Pierre was so charming and extremely rich, and Wil

Picking up immediately where the first novel, Glamorous Illusions left off, Lisa’s second chapter in the lives of the Kensington-Morgan clans travels is no less decedent in its settings featuring a compelling, “real” heroine and the best part of all, it shows no sign of letting up as reader’s gear up for the final novel in the trilogy. Never is there a dull moment in Cora’s overseas travels that continues on through Austria, France and Italy. The skill with which Lisa writes this book is unparal ...more
The Quiet Eccentric
I have enjoyed Lisa's books in the past, but when I read "Glamorous Illusions" (the first in this series) I was a little disappointed. Although I wasn't expecting to be "WOWED" in this book, I had liked the first one just enough to care about what happened in the second.
The thing that stands out the most in "Grave Consequences" would be the beautiful places their group visits. The plot borders on monotonous, but they do visit some spectacular destinations and it makes you want to travel. Like wh

GRAVE CONSEQUENCES, the second book in the Grand Tour series, is one of Lisa Bergren’s best novels to date. The adventure, danger, and intrigue that faces Cora Diehl Kensington honestly never let up. A time or two, it felt like a bit much, but the mastery with which Bergren wove this tale headed off my negative thoughts with compelling characters. I admit it—I was conflicted over who Cora should be with. Does that make me a bad person? She just did a fantastic job making both potential suitors e ...more

Let me begin by saying, I'm not a huge fan of book series that carry the same plotline all the way through. I like, with each new book, to have a new set of struggles and circumstances for the characters to overcome. In the case of “The Grand Tour Series,” the same plotline is followed through the series (I have yet to read the third one but I assume it is basically the same as the first two books). Just from that alone, I wasn't a huge fan of the series once I finished the first book. That bein ...more

"Grave Consequences," written by Lisa T. Bergren, and published by David C. Cook, is the second part of a trilogy which started with "Glamorous Illusions" and ends with "Glittering Promises." Our heroine, Cora Diehl Kensington, is the illegitimate daughter of a wealthy man who plucks her from a life of obscurity in rural Montana and whisks away on a European Grand Tour with his legitimate children. Cora's half siblings, Felix, Vivian, and Lillian, are also traveling with Vivian's beau, Andrew Mo ...more

I loved the first book a lot! So I had high hopes for this one, but I found it a little disappointing. One of the things that I like about this series was that it is Christian . I thought that the book didn't focus on her relationship with God, but more on her relationship with Will. With that said, Cora didn't develop her relationship with God and she didn't really think about what God wanted. I thought that the author kind of put in those small moments with God just to make it seem like a Chri ...more

These are well-written. I started skimming over the historical part, it just seemed to be a bit much after reading the first and second book back to back. I liked the romance, and the suspense. Hopefully there will be a happy ending for everyone in the final book.

Jessica, I think you would like this book. It is inspirational, historical. The heroine travels to different countries. She faces dilemmas of the heart and faith. It is the second book in a series. Of course, I didn't know that when I started.
Sandy
I could barely make it through. There just isn't enough of a plot here to justify three LONG books. I was shocked when I finished the first one that so little plot had been covered by so many wordy pages.

This is the second in the "Grand Tour Series." Cora and her new found family of millionaires continue their grand tour through Europe with William as their new "bear." (For some reason, that is what tour guides were known as in the early 1900's.) Cora continues to struggle with her new identity as the daughter of a very rich and well known cattle baron and mining king. There is romance and some mystery thrown in as someone follows them from place to place trying kidnap one of the daughters for r ...more

I liked this one better than the first, but it was still a little too on the romantic side for my tastes.

Lisa Bergren is an excellent writer. She is great at using words to weave her story. Even though I was not all that impressed with this particular story, I still marvel at her writing style.

I will say, I had Arthur figured out from almost the start. Really guys, was it that hard to see that?

There was a little more action in this one,

The first book in Bergren’s historical fiction series, Glamorous Illusions, was a light and fluffy read that I found to be entertaining enough to enjoy, even if I wouldn’t exactly call it a substantial piece of fiction. In comparison, I found Grave Consequences to be even fluffier, and much more romance-centric. For me, this book is an older version of The Luxe and its companions, though perhaps a little bit less engaging.

After the seriously dramatic kidnapping attempt at the end of Glamorous Il
