It's clumsy, but it has good bones. A lot of threads left that look like they will be fleshed out as the series progresses such as the one unreeling for the main character's relationship with her twin sister. Mary DiNunzio, in this first book of the series, is not my cup of tea, but I will read the next one before deciding on whether to read more. There was too much stalking, not just from the criminal, but it seemed every male in the book, including the gay ones, loved her best over everyone e More...

The heroine and narrator of the book, Mary Di Nunzio, is an associate in a corporate law firm in Philadelphia and up for promotion to partner. She's foul-mouthed, ballsy wise-cracking and the voice is pretty light and humorous. It's not just first person but present tense and sounds a bit odd. Present tense often lends a sense of lyricism and immediacy but that's not really the tone set here.

The thing is, even though this was on a Suspense novel reading list and is billed as a legal th More...

Mary DiNunzio is one of Scottoline's short heroines. (all are either tall or short).

I've been reading Scottoline -- whose work I like a lot -- out of sequence. So it was fun in this one to meet Mary "pre-Rosato."

The key plot line -- that a federal judge is wack-o in love w. Mary (to the point of killing her husband) is over the top. But I've realized that even with an overtopped plot, Scottoline has a lot of interesting things to say -- about twin-ness, why a teen m More...

Rates a solid “good” for me. Not great, not the best ever, but quite good. This is only the second Lisa Scottoline book I’ve read, but so far it confirms that the most interesting part about her books is the character development. In some books, especially in the legal-/mystery-thriller genres, you’re really more interested in the mystery than in the actual characters. The suspense builds as the action moves forward, regardless of whether the characters are well written or not. In Scottoline’s c More...

The first novel by Lawyer Lisa Scottoline.

This tale of corporate intrigue centers on Mary DiNunzio, a lawyer on the partner track at one of Philadelphia's top law firms, and her secret admirer/stalker. Mary, stressed by nature of her occupation, first shrugs off silent phone calls to her home and office that are eerily in sync with her comings and goings. Soon, however, when she starts getting personal notes, too, she starts to suspect her co-workers. When Brent Polk, her good friend More...

I read this book at my mom's request, because she really likes the author and the series of which this is the beginning. I enjoyed it as an interesting look at the legal world as well as a good mystery that made for a very quick read. My enjoyment was probably more like four stars' worth, but I don't pretend that this is great literature--plus I'm leaving room for improvement in future books, which I plan to read. The writing was great, but I'm pretty sure that the plotting and characterization More...

After reading three of her books in no particular order (which I chose based solely on plot), I've become enough of a Scottoline fan to want to go back to the beginning and read her books in order. Not all of her books star Mary DiNunzio and her eventual law-partner/boss Bennie Rosato, but enough of them do that I decided I need to start reading in order.

This was Scottoline's first DiNunzio book and first book, period. Mary was the first character of hers that I met, and remains my f More...

I really went into this book with high hopes; I'd long been bored with the formulaic legal template utilized by greats like Grisham and Lescroart and thought the perspective of a ball-busting female corporate attorney would be a refreshing twist on the predictable. I was encouraged to look no further than lawyer/author Lisa Scottoline's repertoire. Unfortunately, the novel didn't really live up to the hype.

What Scottoline does better than her contemporaries is handle nuanced charact More...

I literally finished this gem in a matter of hours and like always when it comes of Lisa Scottoline's work, I wasn't disappointed.

Last year, I picked up one of her later books, Lady Killer, featuring Mary DiNunzio and fell in love with the character. I was more than overjoyed to see Mary featured in another book from the Rosato & Associates series.

Mary's inner struggles with her job and conscience were realistic, and I've thought about some of the same things regarding More...

I liked the plot and premise of this book. I like Mary's character, though she is kind of a wimp. I'd have given this 4 stars if it weren't for the seemingly gratuitous profanity in the book. It seemed to me that the author was using the F word for the sheer pleasure of saying it, as if she could defy her mom by putting it in print. It didn't have much to do with the plot, dialog, or anything else. I'm not a prude. I just think that some authors pour it on like pouring heaps of salt or ketchup o More...

Mary DiNunzio is about to make partner at her highly regarded law firm if she isn't killed by her stalker first.
What I didn't like: The book was full of cliche's from her first tryst with her love interest to the gun going off in a struggle at the end. lots of typos (not the author's fault). A very strange resolution to the stalker story. Finally, she is unable to accept her sister's choice to be a nun and takes time off from being stalked to go to the convent and harass her about it.

Lisa Scottoline is a great read if you enjoy court rooms and end of chapter cliff hangers. Her stories are informative and witty as well as a joy to read. They primarily center around Bennie Rosato's all women law firm and the cases they take on. Bennie and her attorneys usually participate in each book but they all take turns as the "star of the show." Lisa evidently tends to write each story as it plays out to her...reasonably unplanned.....which makes them read fresh and rather More...

I gave this a one-star rating because I actually finished the book. So much to say, but how little time I want to waste on it. The book was so peppered with foul language that it was hard to tolerate. Instead of a dialogue built upon a solid foundation of character and intrigue, it was painfully weak with a disconnect of every person. I wasn't left with the panic of finding out the stalker, and I found myself rolling my eyes in several places. I wish this was a book I could say I enjoyed, b More...

In 2009 I discovered the Lisa Scottoline legal mysteries and have now read sixteen of them. In my opinion, each one could be described as a....can not put it down novel! For those who enjoy following the character development in a series of novels, I would suggest that you begin with "Everywhere...." and read them in the order they were written in order to avoid spoilers. In her acknowledgments, the author often explains her reasons for certain character choices or plot lines. More...

For 2011 my book club has chosen to focus our reading on local authors &/or topics set locally in the Phila area. Lisa Scottoline's first book is our first to read under these guidelines.
This is not a typical book for me to pick up & read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was suspenseful but not horribly frightening. The characters engaged me, and I was eager to read it from chapter to chapter. The ending was a bit of a surprise, too, so that makes it even more enjoyable. I definitely More...

I really enjoyed this book. At first I was a little taken back by how often the "F" word was used but after a few chapters they use it a little less. I enjoyed the storyline and can't wait to continue on in the series. I think I might have enjoyed Think Twice better if I had read through the books in order.

I like Mary's character. I'm also rooting for her and Ned but I guess I will have to wait until I read the next in the series to see what happens. I was surprised when t More...

I read a newer Scottoline novel and since I am unemployed-I decided to read the Mary DiNunzio series. This is a fun book, which gives a brief history of Mary, her dead husband, and her law background. Mary has a stalker and the list of potential stalkers is large. I liked the ending, and the possibility of another book. Many unanswered questions---why is Mary's twin sister a nun? Why did Mary not take her husband's last name? Will Mary ever reveal her abortion to anyone? The characters a More...

EVERYWHERE THAT MARY WENT
Scottoline, Lisa - 1st of series

From Fantastic Fiction: Mary DiNunzio has been slaving away for the past eight years to make partner in her cut-throat Philadelphia law firm. She hasn't got time to worry about crank phone calls and hate mail -- until a sinister pattern begins to form: someone wants Mary out of the way enough to kill her. But who can she trust when everyone she knows is a lawyer?

Great start to the series. Liked the charact More...

Blah, Stereotypical plot (all the typical things happen); no twists or depth or believability.
There's no way a high powered attorney acts like Mary; little common sense and swears like a truck driver (everyone, but the nun, in the book swears profusely).
Mary's wonderful a brief about jurors taking notes is just horrible and has nothing to do with the story.
Mary's nun sister seems to be an attempt to knock the Catholic Church. It has almost nothing to do with the story, but may le More...

Recently widowed Mary DiNunzio has been hard at work for the past eight years trying to make partner in her Philadelphia law firm. The crank phone calls that she has been getting don't bother her until they start to come more regularly. The phone rings as soon as she gets to work then as soon as she gets home. Someone is watching her every move, but who is it? She starts to get the sneaking suspicion that maybe her husbands death wasn't an accident. Is Mary next?

e-book This was a great read, as are all of the Rosato series, this being the first. I was a little surprised by the profanity, considering that the main character, Mary DiNunzio, has a twin sister who is a nun. Her challenge in this particular book is that someone seems to be trying to kill her. Other than having lost her husband to a hit and run driver almost a year before, she seems to have an interesting life. I'll be interested to read other comments by readers.

I fell in love with Lisa Scottoline's writing after reading "Killer Smile" then I went back to the beginning and read "Everywhere That Mary Went". Lisa did not disappoint! I love her style of writing and her humor. The main character in this book, Mary Di Nunzio became so real to me (because Lisa's writing is that good) and I enjoyed her so much that I read the rest of the books with her in them as well...you will not be disappointed...

I really like this author. The way she develops her characters make them seem very real, you get to see so many sides of Mary DiNunizo. This book seems to bring in all of the different people we would meet if we lived in Mary’s world.

The plot had good twists and turns to keep you guessing, I like that. Although I like to be able to figure out “who done it” I don’t want that to be too obvious and this one had me going right up until the party at the end. Although looking back, I ca More...

This is the first book I've read by this author, so I don't know yet if she would fall into the "if you've read one, you've read them all" camp (hello Robin Cook? I'm talking to you...). In any event, I was pleasantly surprised to not have pegged the mystery from page one, and it really was a page turner.

I found the ending frustrating - a blatant set up for a sequel if there ever was one - but overall, a nice diversion for a few hours of blessed free time!

I liked this book because it took place in Philadelphia and I recognized the locations. It is a mystery novel that was slightly suspenseful, until I figured out who the culprit was about half way through the book. After that, I just wanted to finish it because I had started it and I don't like not to finish books. I'm not impressed with this author even though she's a NY Times Best Seller apparently.

Mary DiNunzio is a lawyer on the lookout for a partnership with one of Philadelphia's top law firms. Still grieving for her late husband, she is really in no mood for a secret admirer/stalker. With all the stress of her job, she ignores the early signs of the stalker, but when things get considerably more personal, and Mary's friends start to pay the price, she can't help but take the attention seriously.

First Lisa Scottoline book that I have read (also first in her list). I thought it was a pretty good book...could have done without some of the language but overall a good read. I read it as Lisa Scottoline is going to be at the Kansas Library Association Conference in Wichita next month. So I thought I should have at least read one of her books :o)
