Interesting and well written story about day to day life in New Madrid at the time of the earthquakes, told mostly by the members of a family new come to the area. The author obviously did a lot of research, but the information is skillfully woven into the story so it doesn't read like a history book. I highly recommend this book.

Historically accurate, but fictional account of the New Madrid Quakes of 1811-12. Enjoyable, quick read. Wish there was more history on the event and area, but it wasn't very populated in the early 1800's. Characters were enjoyable.
