Surprisingly good. I thought the first book in this series was rather slow (a LOT of travel and searching that goes on and on) but the other two books get progressively better. The weird part about this trilogy is that it's not exactly... in order. The author says she constructed it so that it's an actual triad where you can read any of the three books first and just jump right in. So each of the three focuses on slightly different groups of characters. This one is the best, though, I think.

This is the only book I've read from the trilogy, but it never stopped me from enjoying it. The way it's written allows you to pick up from this book and not worry about what you're missing from the previous stories. It gives enough background that you can plunge right in and if you like it, you can always read the previous books.
