Can a girl have two loves if one of them is a ghost?
The story begins with the prologue where we discover how Frank died. Then we meet Camellia, and finally Brad. Each character has a point of view, and the reader learns their strengths and weaknesses as their very different personalities unfold.
Francis DeLuca breaks everything he touches–crockery, his mother, and finally himself. He is dead, a ghost imprisoned in a light fixture, able to materialize only when that light is turned on. He’s been...more

Francis DeLuca breaks everything he touches–crockery, his mother, and finally himself. Frank is dead, a ghost imprisoned in a light fixture, able to materialize only when that light is turned on. He’s been dead a quarter century, the victim of a gunshot during a robbery turned bad, and he stays in the bedroom in his own kind of purgatory.

After reading the last sentence of the above blurb….it was easy for me to answer.
Ghost + dead = Frank. Human + alive = Brad.
Hmmm…Brad - Frank - Brad - Frank - Brad…..
I actually wanted to rate this story a 2, due to the ludicrous story line of a HEA with a ghost, but there were some things Ms. Ethridge did well. With that being said…. Beware, these are spoilerish. (Is that a word?)
BIG PROBLEM….CAM. She loves a ghost, a dead man. Who only appears to her when...more

A really fun novel! I really loved how extremely vivid Frank was, I could just see, smell & hear him, with his slight New York accent, his funky 80's mohawk ,the too-tight Metallica shirt and the faint aroma of motor oil.
The author did a really great job of conveying just how drawn apart but desperate the situation was for Cam. Usually when I read a synopses like this (there were lots of themes similar in Songs of Love & Death), I figure that there will be a heart breaking decision for a...more

If you loved "Ghost" with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze, you'll love PARAMOUR. How can you love a ghost? Especially one you never knew when he was alive? Camellia grew up with a spectre in her room, and he became the boy she loved. When she comes home as an adult to bury her father, her old feelings are renewed, but become inextricably mixed up with her budding romance with Bradley, a guy who is not only red blooded, but warm, caring, and alive. This love triangle makes for a most unusual romant...more
Paramour was interesting, if a little odd.
Camellia Stafford’s dad has just passed away so she has come back to her childhood home to clean up and say her last goodbyes. But Cam has been keeping a secret for all these years, there is a ghost in her room, and she’s been in love with him ever since she was a teenager.
Cam is a strong, funny woman who is easily likeable. What’s not likeable about her is the fact that she has a hot, strong, successful live man, begging her to be hers and yet she is st...more

Nicely done, Ms. Ethridge, nicely done indeed.
This debut novel is packed with details that draw you into this unusual supernatural love story. Although the pages are packed with heated moments of passion surrounding the somewhat unorthodox love triangle in this story, it's the sweetness of the description of ordinary moments that stick with you even after the storytelling's done. Even though the dirty mounds of snow are still dotting my yard, I'm picking up the scent of fresh-cut grass. I swear...more

The blurb from this book gives you so much information. Before reading this book, I had only read one other book that was considered “romance” with a ghost in it. So, I kinda took this book as a challenge. Because there is NO WAY a second book of this type, could be hot . . right? I was so wrong. This book was scorching. I picked it up and found myself unable to put it down. I honestly do not want to give a single piece of this story away. So...more

Paramour is a stunningly well-imagined, richly detailed romantic exploration featuring three of the most unforgettable characters I have ever read. The storyline is captivating from beginning to end, and the description throughout is second to none. Every line is powerful. Every word is palpable.
Paramour, quite simply, is a masterpiece.

I really enjoyed this love triangle with a twist.
I actually thought that Brad was a bit of an arse though and I would have liked to have seen more Frank!!!
My heart broke for Frank...he so obviously LOVES Cam and I would have liked to have seen them together.
Overall a really interesting read with a paranormal twist

Well written, fast read. Two romances for the price of one! I enjoyed it; the storyline was really very unique, but maybe just a little too surface level because I was left with some pretty big questions - I just now noticed there is a sequel... Kind of peaks my interest, but I am not sure I will read it. I would be really disappointed to still not get answers.

Margaret Ethridge lives with a sweet-talking Southern gentleman who claims to be her lawfully-wedded husband. She is the (not-so-wicked-but-she-has-her-moments) step-mother to their two children, the adoring mistress of three spoiled dogs, the food purveyor to eleven hungry goldfish, and the comic foil for one rather impertinent house rabbit who thinks he rules the roost.
