Funny, scary and bizarre. A whodunit turned upside-down and around and injected with a big dose of Who.
The Doctor and Charley are greatly hampered in their effort to solve a murder mystery, not in the least by the victims who keep coming back to life. As the story progresses the atmosphere goes from bizarre to downright creepy. I wasn't wholly convinced by the "solution" to this story, but it really didn't hamper my enjoyment. A recommended listen.

Christmas has never been darker and we get a little of Charley (the companion) history. quite a sad story with a rather sinister vain running thru.

Another bang up audio in this second season of McGann stories. This one;s a real mind frak. I found myself during the whole first half saying "What the frak"? It's really a bizarre story about sentient houses that control time loops and feed on death... weird. What really stands out though is the idea of classism and the relationships that we form and aren't even that aware of. Plus, we finally begin to address the seriousness of the Doctor saving Charley and changing history.

This kind of picked up towards the end of the plot. The first half just made me mindnumbingly bored but I did like it's resolution.

Just creepy: the Doctor and Charley trapped in a house where the servants keep on dying horribly - and even more mysteriously coming to life. Clearly some Big Revelation about Charley's nature is being planned.

One of the best of the 8th Doctor audios. Spooky, funny, and ultimately moving.
