Kate, Margo, Alexandria an jane make up the ladies fo the Black Widow Agency. They share a passion for justice for women hurt by men and chocolate.

Their client was drugged, framed and fired by a VERY sexually harassing emplyer. And she lost her home and daughter in the process.

The Widows need to find out the truth and vindicate her. And they are very good at what they do.

A Very entertaining start to a new series.

I originally chose this book to read because, according to www.stopyourekillingme.com, it was set in New Hampshire, so it was going to be my New Hampshire selection for the A Mystery for Every State project I've been doing. However, there was, I think, only one brief mention of the location, and no real local color, so I'll be looking elsewhere for the New Hampshire entry.

For what appears to be a first novel, a mystery that almost borders on fantasy (not the supernatural kind) and uses an urban

This is chick lit. Make no mistake about that. However it's not bad chick lit (and I have read some really bad chick lit books).

I call books like this "palate cleansers". They're books I pick up when I need something lighter, or when I need a quick break from the stress of day to day life. At a little over 220 pages, Black Widow Agency is a light snack of a book. A quick read finished in an hour or so if you're uninterrupted (I should note that I'm an insanely voracious reader, so what takes me

In Felicia Donovan's The Black Widow Agency, the first installment in the Black Widow Agency mystery series, these four women who don't just get mad, they get even. For Katie, Margo, Jane and Alexandria, each one of them have a special asset to contribute to this agency with a hidden past. It all started for Katie, a former cop, when Amber Gordon came into her workplace to discuss her case, when she lost her daughter and everything else with it. That's when Katie and her team devised a plan to ...more

THIS BROUGHT THEM ALL TOGETHER AND FORMED AN AGENCY WHERE THEY HELPED OTHER WOMEN WITH SIMILAR ISSUES. FOUR WOMAN FROM DIFFERENT CULTURES BECAME A FAMILY AND SUPPORT SYSTEM OF THEIR OWN. It’s a good, simple cozy, and not a mystery actually. The agency is run by some women trying to give justice to wronged women. And of course the wrong was done by men. An ex policewoman, a mysterious master of cyberspace, a superb cook and a numbers whiz with menopausal problems (a bit late at sixty, I thought). A slim book to pass the time, nothing more.

I love the whole idea of these women who have been "wronged" by men helping other women in the same situation. I also liked the interaction among the women in the office. I can't wait for the next book!

I will limit myself to commenting that the editors of the book disliked it enough that it seems that they didn't even bother to read it beyond the first chapter, as the book was rife with typos of the nastiest sort - sentences that abruptly become new chapters, misspelled words, etc. Really now.

I just picked this book up from the library as I was researching schools for computer forensics... Being bored I decided to give it a read and it was really interesting! There are a couple spellings errors and other poor editing work but otherwise this book is a great little read.

I kinda felt like the characters started off non-realitic, man haters, but by the end of the book, they became more human, and I was kinda drawn in. One does start this book wondering if there are any nice guys out there, but it manages to find a few...

This is the first book I read that Felicia Donovan wrote and I loved it.
I love mysteries and I love her modern view.
I gave her books to my granddaughter and she told me she could not put them down..
We both read them all..

Quick and easy read. Liked well enough to read the second book in the series. Several twists and turns although fairly easy to figure out.

Author of THE HUMMINGBIRD WOMEN'S SOCIETY series (including THE FRENCH GIRL), THE BLACK WIDOW AGENCY series of comedy-mysteries featuring the raucously funny gals of The Black Widow Investigative Agency; and several other books.

Felicia Donovan has been telling stories since she was a young girl (apologies to my siblings for some of them). She has worked in journalism, education, and law enforcemen
