When it comes to romantic suspense, Marie Force delivers exciting, believable stories, and Fatal Flaw, the fourth book in the Fatal series is no exception.

Senator Nick Cappuano and D.C. Police Lieutenant Samantha Holland are home from their two week, romantic honeymoon on Bora Bora. Literally, just minutes past midnight on her official ‘first day back,’ Sam gets called to work, and it begins. With investigations, campaigning, cold cases, threats, cheating husbands, missing people and murder, Sa...more

Sam and Nick return from their honeymoon, to be faced with a double murder and threatening letters to both their safety. This really shows the other facet to their characters in how they deal with the issues ahead of them and their committed love for one another. Which by the way is sublime. Nick Cappuano can "park his shoes" under my bed anyday!

Nick Cappuano.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the secondary stories, involving the other characters. It was like coming home, to people you love. So good.

Returning from her honeymoon (after getting married to Senator Nick Cappuano in Fatal Destiny: The Fatal Series Wedding Novella), Police Lieutenant Sam Holland finds herself plunged abruptly back into the world of investigating crime. Someone is killing people who seemingly don’t have an enemy in the world; someone else is sending Nick and Sam distinctly unfriendly sounding “congratulation” cards. Or could there be a connection between the two?

This was my first time trying this series; my first...more

The Only FLAW in Fatal Flaw was that it ENDED!! I NEEDED MORE!!

Let me tell you, a Samantha IN LOVE is a Samantha I love!! From the first page we have our Nick and Sam back, and not just back from Bora Bora, where they Honeymooned, but we get the Sam and Nick who love each other more than anything in the world, and I didn't think I could fall anymore in love with this Series, but Marie made it possible!

So, here we have Sam and Nick, In Love and Happy....well....that...more

Marie has done it again with the next book in the Fatal Series.... I just can not get enough of Nick and Sam and the rest of the gang. As soon as I finish one book I am downloading and deliving right into the next book.

Nick and Sam return from their honeymoon and dive right back into their life and work. This book has a bit of a twist in that the crime Sam is investigating does not have a political connection this time which was really nice to see as we all no even though they are in DC not all...more

4.25 out of 5. This fourth book in the series continues the story of Lt. Samantha Holland and her now husband Senator Nick Cappuano. Those of us who have agonized through the ups and downs of this decorated police officer's experiences were delighted that Sam and Nick made it to the altar, but the "spit" hit the fan just minutes after Sam is once again on duty after returning from their honeymoon. People are dying--people who are good, who have no enemies, no one who would have a motive for kill...more

I love Marie Force's entire Fatal series--the main power couple of Nick and Sam is real and fantastic (albeit at times Nick is almost too perfect), all the 'secondary' characters are incredibly fleshed out and get their moments to shine throughout the various books, and the writing is fast-paced and tight. This fourth instalment [excluding the novella] delivers more of what has made Marie a force (no pun intended!) in the world of romantic suspense & contemporary romance, and what fans of th...more

Fatal Flaw by Marie Force
I have a few other books by Marie and I'm not sure why I kept putting off reading them other
than the covers look dark so I thought a lot of killings and suspense. I'm a bit squeamish around
blood and such but wow was I happy to learn this is more than a suspense, it's got a bit of
romance and a lot of mystery to it. I've not yet read the other books in the series but I do
have them but while reading I was brought up to date on the other characters without giving
away a lot...more

Fatal Flaw is a great addition to the Fatal series. I love the characters of Lt. Samantha Holland and Senatur Nick Cappuana, and this book was a satisfying continuation of their story. As usual, there was plenty of steam and chemistry between the two main characters amid a suspenseful and fast paced storyline. I am already impatient to see what happens next in the lives of these two great characters.

I'd happily give this 5 stars if Sam weren't Sam.
Another solidly plotted romantic suspense story, which I've come to expect from this series (and author), but Sam is a thorn in my side.
The one thing I give her credit for is how she "dealt" with Jeannie and got her to come out of hiding and start regaining her confidence and strength.
There are so many things going on in this book and all the side stories are beautifully done. From Jeannie starting to recover and deal with her attack, to Freddie s...more

If you’ve read many of my reviews, you’ll soon see that I’m not a big fan of romantic suspense. Frankly, I’m a wimp! But this past summer I read Marie Force’s wedding novella Fatal Destiny and liked it so much that when I saw Fatal Flaw was available on NetGalley, I instantly requested it. It then sat on my Kindle for months. And I mean MONTHS!!! I finally got around to reading it yesterday, and now I can’t believ...more

Book 5 in the series is not like most series that you think the first is the best. This could be the best one in the series so far! The only "Flaw" was that the book ended and left me wanting LOTS more. (Please write faster and faster Marie, I have to know what happens!)

Sam and Nick just back from Bora Bora are so in love and having a hard time wanting to go back to work. Murders throughout the city targeting them makes Sam head back to work faster than she expected or wanted. This case at times...more

A great addition to one of my favorite series. Lieutenant Samantha Holland and Senator Nick Cappuano are back from their honeymoon in Bora Bora, and mere minutes after Sam is back on duty, she gets a call about a double homicide, apparently motiveless. As the murders continue, the case becomes more confusing with each one. Sam receives threats disguised as good wishes upon her marriage, and other story threads, including a secondary romance, are interwoven with the main mystery plot.

Each additi...more

I really enjoyed reading this detective genre albeit it is rather rare for me to read such a fast pace book. Basically this book is related to the investigation related to Sam who has recently got married to Senator Nick. There are few murders occurring as soon as Sam returned from her honeymoon leave and seems to be related to Sam. At the same time, both of them received threatening mails and messages which Sam believe is related to the mystery of a string of murders. Reading this book remind m...more

Another great book in the Fatal series follows the ongoing story of Lt. Samantha Holland and her now new husband Nick. In this installment Sam hunts for a serial killer of seemingly well liked people who are murdered in their homes with no obvious motive. Sam soon suspects that their is a connection and that in some way she is linked to the murders as well. Of course there's romance and steamy scenes with the newly weds. This is the 4th in the series and I now feel like I know the characters wel...more

Once again, our favorite couple is thrown in to multiple murders. Recently home from their honeymoon, they barely have time to unpack before they are embroiled in another threat on their lives.

And as always, the author is allowing us to get to know the supporting cast. We watch as McBride heals from her trauma, Cruz deals with his Mom and her hatred of his girlfriend and Terry finds someone special. We also get more of a glimpse of Nick and Sam's desire to add Scotty to their family. I have to...more

WOW! Why in the world have I waited so long to read this book?! Another excellent addition to the Fatal series. It just keeps getting better and better, I love this series!

It's a given that I love Nick (he's my romance book boyfriend) and Sam, but I was so excited to see the cast of characters get more story in this book. I'd love to write more, but all I can say is read this series, one of my all time favorites that just keeps getting better and better.

Now off to book 5, I can't wait to see wha...more

I love a good mystery/thriller and Marie Force has accomplished to write an ongoing series (Fatal) that is fabulously suspenseful, full of mystery, with well developed and believable characters. I can't ask for more than that!

Fatal Flaw is the 4th installment in Ms. Force's Fatal Series. Each book in the series builds up to the next so it is advisable to read them in order. The main characters remain the same throughout the series and you get to know them better with each book. Senator...more

I don’t think I can put in words how great this book was. We have the privileged to see a new version of Sam and Nick after the wedding: happy and wonderfully blessed. They are just home from their honeymoon when all hell came lose: a series of murderers that, at first sight, don’t have a thing in common.

Throughout the book, Skip got really sick (I didn’t get a good feeling from this one), Jeannie was coming back from the terrible attack she suffered and was almost herself again, Freddie finall...more

Fatal Flaw begins with Sam and Nick returning from their honeymoon in Bora Bora. Their troubles being with a double murder and wedding cards which arrive congratulating them on their marriage, all is normal until Sam discovers threatening notes to both herself and Nick.
We see a very different relationship between Nick and Sam now they are married, Sam’s earlier issues with informing Nick about concerns and threats mad against her life seem to be cleared. Their relationship seems to be heading in...more

The honeymoon is definitely not over for Nick and Sam! But apparently it is their destiny to be cursed with continual confrontations and interruptions from all sides of the law. But never fear because these two are hotter than ever and their relationship steadily grows stronger. Sam and Nick's relationship remains front and center in every story, the cases continue to be "arresting" and captivating, the storylines developing among the secondary cast are equally as dazzling to read, along with th...more

What an awesome addition to the Fatal series. All of our old friends were back, Freddie, Gonzo and all of the PD crew. Plus, Elin and Freddie's mom come in to play. Not to mention Jeannie McBride. And of course, Scotty. The true here, in my opinion, in this book, was Michael, Jeannie's boyfriend. Anyone that has gone through Jeannie's ordeal knows that patience is what is needed and the patience and love and support that he showed her made her feel safe, and that was exactly what she needed. If you aren't up to speed on the magnificent Fatal Series, our central characters are Samantha Holland, Metro Police Lieutenant in the homicide division and Senator Nick Cappuano. At the beginning of the series, they were reunited during the murder investigation for Nick's best friend, Senator John O'Conner. They have spent the past three books on a whirlwind romance filled with intrigue, murder, and mayhem.

After Fatal Destiny, the wedding novella, I was convinced that Sam and Nick weren't going...more

Original Review: Swept Away By Romance

Nick and Sam have just come back from their honeymoon on Bora Bora. Now that they’re back home, they know that they are going to be busy again but they definitely didn’t expect to come back to a serial murder case or the personal threats they both receive. On top of all that, Sam’s father faces serious health issues and they are trying to adopt the boy that has grown to be like a son to them.

I have loved every single book in the series so far and after that...more

This is a series that I am really enjoying. I love the relationships in the books and the suspense is just right. Sometimes I can figure out the guilty party, but not in this book. It was an excellent read that I would highly recommend for anyone who enjoys romantic suspense. Do yourself a favor though, start from the first book. You won't regret it. Great read.
