Some like it dangerous . . .

Highland beauty Catriona Kincaid cares nothing for propriety—or even her own safety—when she storms the grounds of Newgate Prison. Determined to return to Scotland and restore her clan's honor, she seeks the help of Sir Simon Wescott, a disgraced nobleman and notorious rogue. She is prepared to offer him both wealth and freedom, but she never dr

In Some Like It Wicked, we set off with two people that met under not the best set of circumstances, But Catriona was captivated by Sir Simon Westcott, in her mind he was her hero....honorable and loyal despite having becoming a man that has fallen in debt and put in prison where not even his own father will set him free. But Catriona needs his help. So she offers him a deal, half of her dowry if they marry if he escorts her to Scotland to
Some Like It Wicked is the first book I've read by Teresa Medeiros and I really liked it. I bought The Devil Wears Plaid a whole ago but never got around to reading it. Then I saw that Laurie had this and it sounded good, so I figured I'd give it a go. Plus, it would give me a little bit of feel for Medeiros' writing before I read The Devil Wears Plaid since this was one of her earlier works. At this point, I really want to jump right into reading the next book, Some Like It Wild, because I abso ...more
I would've really loved this book if I wasn't so tired of "I am not good enough for you excuses that heroes come up with but still have sex with the virgin heroines." Like seriously if you can't marry her keep the pants zipped or in this case stay married to her. The highlanders characters were adorable. The heroine also got on my nerves...grow some spine women....he keeps treating you like shit and you keep going back like really? The second book was way better although plagued by similar issue ...more

Really 3.5 stars.
My historical streak continues with “Some Like It Wicked” by Teresa Medeiros. I enjoy Ms. Medeiros’ writing and I also enjoy stories about Scotland (ah, brawny highlanders in kilts!), so I couldn’t put this one off for long. As I began the book, I was soon lost back in time in England, rooting for a beauty that refuses to give up on her hero.

Catriona is determined to find the brother who sent her off to England when she was just

SOME LIKE IT WICKED has inconsistent characters (now he's a wicked rake! now he's a mellow sweetheart! now he's wicked again!), a totally ridiculous plot (heroine wants to run off and do...what?), and not much else to recommend it. Oh, and as a bonus feature, there are a ton of historical errors (the author refers to buying commissions in the navy, seems to think the card games whist and faro resemble poker, has a mail coach drop a passenger off at her front door...and then there's the super-eas ...more
I really enjoyed this book.. Teresa Medeiros' books are a lot of fun to read, they are fast-paced, funny, romantic and sexy all wrapped together and this book is no exception! I usually don't read all the books in a series back to back (call me weird, but I tend to get bored!), but with this book I find myself wanting to jump right into the next book, so I think I'll do just that! Highly recommended! :)

It was a light and fun read, nothing serious and heavily emotional. It has just the right amount of humor and romance, the characters were likable, and the chemistry between Catriona and Simon was very well written.

After dealing with the gruesome deaths of her parents as a child, Catriona was sent to her uncle by her brother Connor to grow up as a respectable young lady. She has this fervent dream of reuniting the Kincaid clan and later on she grows up to make it come true, and there's nothing

2 stars. I wanted more plot and more character development. It needed something special or different.

Catriona’s Scottish parents were killed by the English. Her brother stayed in Scotland and sent her to live with an uncle in England. Her cousins made life difficult, and she dreamed of returning to Scotland. Catriona first met Simon when he was having a tryst with Alice, Catriona’s cousin. Simon then served in the Navy and was given a hero’s welcome when he returned. But he was mise

It has been a while since Ms. Medeiros released her last novel. So, I had high hopes for her latest release. When I first started this book, I did not like the hero at all. He was a womanizer who seemed to have no hope of ever being reformed. Half way through the book though, you find out more about him and why he acts the way he does. I became sympathetic to his character, and I wanted to keep reading to see how things would work out with the hero and heroine (the latter, by the way, is a nice ...more

I would give a long review but it would be pointless because there's only a few words to describe Some Like it Wicked. Wonderful, Funny, lots of adventure, and most importantly lots of romance! Teresa Medeiros delivers yet another awesome historical romance!
Catriona Kincaid wants more than anything to get the Highland lands back once belonging to her family. To do this she enlists the help of Simon Westcott, a naval hero that she has secretly harbored a crush for since she first met him. Catriona proposes a marriage of convenience, Simon needs money and Catriona needs a husband to escort her to the Highlands.

I liked how spirited Catriona Kincaid was, just like Simon Wescott. Their banter and matter of fact relationship spurred the sexual tension b
My English review:

Catriona has been in love with Simon since she was 15 years old. She finally finds a way to spend time with him and realize her dreams. Simon introduces her to the decadent world of passion and lovemaking: making her a woman and a wife in all ways. This love story is a great read and I didn't want to put it down!!

Luckily this was not the first book by Teresa Medeiros I read otherwise it would have put me off her books forever. I know she wrote cool books so I will continue reading her works. I will consider this a possible mistake.
This book was soooooo bad.
The writing style was great, a few scenes were wonderfully described... but the characters were totally unbelievable.
The heroine gets upset because her love interest doesn't want to kill himself either in war or battling with guards at her whim.

LOVED this book from Medeiros' backlist! I'll hate to finish my pleasant task of reading her past books. This one has been my favorite so far. The characters are interesting and well developed. There is lots of humor. An example would be heroine Catriona's cat who is named Robert the Bruce. The cat is there for the entire story from being a kitten when she is a teenager to an old cat who still has a love life in the epilogue. My next task is to locate the sequel which is her brother Connor's sto ...more

Romance is one of those genres I always tell myself I'm going to read more of, and yet, it's one of those genres I never seem to read a lot of. Which is weird, because, for the most part, I've really liked a lot of the romances I've read. Sadly, this wasn't the case for Some Like It Wicked, which turned out to be okay for me.

Catriona definitely is what I'd call strong. She's very determined to make sure the family name and the family land is okay, and she's willing to do what she has to in orde

An OK book... nothing special. Engaging story, but it follows the "romance" pattern without fail.

Simon seems to be the "bad boy" - he thinks he is, and he tries to make Caitriona think so, too. Problem is, he just won't admit to himself how much her caring for him means to him... and then won't admit how much he loves her. So that seems to make him a horrible person, treating her meanly, if not brutally at times with his words.

Caitriona is more than naive. She's spunky and intelligent, but for

This was really a great read. I truly enjoy Medeiros' style and the story was smooth and fun and even tender. It is just a bit reminiscent of an old Errol Flynn or Cary Grant movie where there is adventure, witty dialogue between characters, and romance of the softer kind. Not steamy but very warm. TM's writing talents give you a clear view to the story and it plays well in your mind, captivating enough to take you completely in and let's you look around. It's like those optical illusion posters ...more
