This is the book I have been searching for for a very long time. I have been so dissatisfied with praying through a prayer list and have tried praying using Christ's example of prayer, but just couldn't seem to connect well. This book tells the importance of seeking God's face in prayer by acknowledging His character and praising Him instead of just giving a list of your requests. You can do this by personalizing a psalm or other scripture. I was blessed by reading this.

The author argues that prayer should first and foremost be an act of praising God and that only this will prevent prays degenerating into "shopping lists". I found this a helpful book on achieving a right balance in prayer.
What a fabulous book! I will never look at prayer the same way again.
