This book was a good read. I enjoyed it. I read it in 2 hrs. It was pretty good for a erotica romance though a few things bothered me about it. Spoiler Alert. If Luke loved Sarah so much, why didn't he come back to her right away and try to win her back when he heard about her divorce? Also, I understand this is a erotica romance novel and everything but if I haven't seen my old girlfriend in 4 years and I just spend one night of mind blowing sex with her, the way to win her back isn't popping a...more

Cop Appeal doesn't even have the thin veneer of respectability that Copping to It attempts to maintain. Sarah Larson has always wanted Luke (the undercover cop in the preceding book who participated in the menage with Ty and Claire. My Review:
Ava Meyers returns to the RED HOT COPS series with another good read that gives a taste of a woman's fantasy to do slightly naughty things with the man that she has desired for some time. Luke, the third participant in the menage that happens in COPPING TO IT, makes a return appearance as that man. As in the first book in the series, there is a certain amount of danger that lurks in the background, while the two characters explore and fulfill their sexual attraction to each other.

Sarah, the primary feminine character, is well-defined. She has a past that is revealed, but not dumped on the reader. A key phrase, one that haunts her about her reputation, is speckled throughout the novella, as a sort of subliminal reminder of both sides of her desire and fear of moving forward with Luke. Aside from that, there is also her ex-husband that is a much more tangible danger. Though he doesn't make a real appearance as a deterrent to Luke and Sarah's relationship until the end, his presence as one of Sarah's all-too real fears gives spice to the encounters that she and Luke have.

I liked that Meyers stayed away from using Luke's job in an undercover cop situation, as the seminal plotline. As with the first book in the RED HOT COPS series, there is a degree of naughtiness and sexual fantasies coming to fruition, but the different slant on why the two characters are thrown together, kept me from feeling that the book mirrored its companion novella too closely, and distinguished itself as a stand alone piece of writing.

COP APPEAL is a good addition to the RED HOT COPS series, and I enjoyed this, slightly longer than the first, novella. I think that other readers who enjoy seeing an man in uniform, out of it, while being able to experience a little bit of a "forbidden fantasy" type plot (there's another orchestrated m/f/m scene), will have fun with COP APPEAL in particular, and the RED HOT COPS series as a whole.

I don't know if there are words to describe what I'm thinking right now. While this book was hot and the connection between Luke and Sarah is explosive, the story-line left a bit to be desired. Sarah and Luke used to be hot and heavy. Not only that, but both are in love with one another and have been for years. Sarah made the mistake of breaking things off with Luke because she didn't think she was good enough and has spent the last four years living in regret. Soon after her break-up with Luke she jumped into a marriage with another man and that ended horribly. Sarah just wants to get past her horrible marriage and move on with her life, the only problem with that is her psycho ex-husband. He is bound and determined to make Sarah his at all costs, and if he can't have her no one else will.

Luke has always loved Sarah and it damn near broke him when she broke up with him. But in a fit of anger he threw himself into his work and didn't fight for her. Now four years later he recognizes he was wrong to just let her go. When he hears that she is newly single, he know he will do everything in his power to have her back in his life.

There are so many sparks between these two and I really enjoyed watching their scenes together. The love and passion these two feel for one another is explosive. My problem with this story is the other characters. I never really understood why Luke is so determined to bring another partner into bed with him and Sarah. It just felt like the author wanted to make things spicy and thought "hey let me add a menage scene." It didn't really go and the way it came about was straight up porno. The guy just shows up and starts removing his clothes. Um okay? I just wasn't feeling it. I thought the the chemistry between Luke and Sarah was enough and it didn't need a third party.

My other issue is the psycho ex-husband story-line. I wan't really fond of the way it was handled and I could have done without it. It just seemed like an after thought.

Again, Meyers demonstrates her amazing ability to transport the reader into the lives of the characters. Intense, romantic and extremely erotic this is one novella that should not be missed!

This time we follow Luke, on of the under cover police officers briefly glimpsed in Copping To It. While he is definitely the bad boy presented in that story we now come to see the more protective 'softer side' of his nature as he is reunited with the woman that he loves who walked out of his life many years prior. Despite a quick intro into the respective characters, we are easily brought into the simmering passion that still exists between them. Immediately, the spark is there and I can't help but be impressed by Meyers's talent in this respect. Normally, I can't stand characters that suddenly fall into bed after only a few pages, and yet with this series it's rather organic as she effortlessly combines thoughts, dialogue, and emotions into moments filled with pure unadulterated passion.

The characters, as have come to be expected, are wonderfully developed with human flaws and fears. Sarah is self-deprecating as she is filled with self worth issues surrounding her relationship with Luke. Not raised with a silver spoon in her mouth, she's had to work for everything she's gotten. Considering herself nothing more then trash in comparison to Luke's wealthy upbringing she chose years ago to leave him before he could hurt her feeling that letting Luke go would be best for them both. Luke, on the other hand, honestly loved her and has been pining for her for years. When he sees the opportunity to step back into her life in the form of a promise Sarah made before marrying he eagerly jumps at the chance to win her back. Despite his rogue-ish appearance, he is quite genuinely a loving and caring man eager to bring every happiness and pleasure he can into Sarah's life. His charming sense of humor is a complete contrast to every preconceive notion that I had about him. That paired with the very evident alpha streak within him only serves to make him that much more appealing. The tender way he sweeps away her concerns about her upbringing leaves no question that he is in the relationship for the long run, despite Sarah's misguided conviction that he is merely using her.

While the build up of trust and passion is amazing, I also loved the build up of the threat that Sarah's ex-husband presents. Walters, also a cop, has been harassing Sarah for months. Finally desperate to be rid of him Sarah goes to Internal Affairs looking for help. When Luke steps back into her life she's eager for him not to find out about her stalking ex uneasy about what either he or Walters would do to one another. When Luke steps into his protective role, she's both thrilled and worried. This tension sets a nice undertone within the story promising suspense and action. However, it was here that I found this novella to be a bit lacking as the showdown between the two men is rather rushed. I would have loved to see more go on between these two and get more then just the impression of threat. When he shows up drunk with only the evidence in his car pointing towards his darker intentions I couldn't help but be a little disappointed. In the future, I would love to see this series become a bit more rounded with both passion and action to up the suspense within the novellas. I think it would make things so much more appealing if we could see these strong, protective alphas in action outside of the bedroom as well as in.

Overall, this was an amazing novella that I truly enjoyed reading and wonderful compliment to the series as a whole. It had everything one could want and left me eagerly awaiting the next installment to see who the next sexy man in blue is! Those who love their men hot and their romance hotter, then this series is definitely for you as it will not disappoint.

I love the way this author writes. The words just flow over the pages. This was the second book I read by her, and I loved it as much if not more than the first. She slips enough thoughts and conversation in between super steamy sex to create a hot, enjoyable erotic short. I love stories where the guy is so in love with the lady, and his focus is to convince her to stay with him forever.

this is my second time to read another book by Ava Meyers and it just gets better. i previously encountered Luke Anderson in her book Copping To It. this time she puts him on center-stage and provides his back story and more.
Sarah's plight is real and some readers may relate to her. she has her flaws and her fears are justified but it was a good thing that in the end she managed to extricate herself from her situation by taking some steps and asking for help.
Luke and Sarah are perfect for each other. Luke is the rock that Sarah will ever need to keep her safe and to be herself - a healthy, loving sensual woman. Sarah is also the woman that Luke will ever love and make him complete.
Cop Appeal has more than just graphic language and sexual situations to offer. there is a lot of that here and even if they were not explicitly detailed, you would still have a beautiful romantic story that talks about courage, second chances and breaking free.

This is the second book in the The Red-Hot Cops Series and as in the first one it does not waste time in getting into the action.

Sarah loved Luke but since she didn't come from the same high society class that Luke did she felt that she wasn't good enough for him and broke things off with him and married someone else. Imagine the woman you love and who drives you crazy is being threaten by a vindictive ex who is close to doing her physical harm. Luke loves Sarah, but Sarah feels he can do better. but Luke will not allow an angry ex or Sarah's denials keep him from claiming the woman he loves more than anything. Great read and great sex.
