probably would have given 3.5 stars except the end when he said loving a man was unnatural and weird and he still desired woman so he would continue fucking his friend and women

This story was heading for a two star rating from the start. The premise was silly, the plot was unrealistic and illogical, the execution was awkward, the dialogues were stilted and the characters were totally one dimensional (and I kept forgetting who was who because both men are exactly the same). But then I got to the last page. And the oh-so-in-love boy (forgot which one) told his buddy/lover/love of his life that he was happy eventhough his feelings were unnatural and he still digged women...more

Not bad for a short story.

I liked the characters and Abbey is adorable. I did struggle keeping Matthew and Aaron apart at times.

Sweet story about two co-workers, Aaron and Matt, who are also best friends for 15 years. Matt was dating Abbey for 2 years. She also happened to be Aaron's friend, so they all knew each other quite well. One day, Abbey broke up her relationship with Matt. To Matt, she told him that he might be better off with Aaron, and to Aaron, she told him that me might be better off with Matt. This sent both Aaron and Matt into self doubt, confusion, and later realization of themselves.

This is a GFY squared...more

Matthew and Aaron work together in an office, and have been longtime friends. Both dissatisfied with their relationships with women, they have an inkling that they are atttacted to one another, but, is this something they really want to pursue, and so, will this irrevocably alter their relationship as best friends forever?

This is a literate, well-written examination of two young men who are unsure about whether to take their friendship to the next level, or, maintain it on a more platonic basis....more

Matthew's girlfriend of two years broke up with him over a stupid reason he claimed. He refused to acknowledge the reason Abbey claimed she broke up with him.

Aaron gets a call from Abbey who has known him longer than she has Matthew. That call makes him thing about a lot of things it also gets him into a nice fight with Matthew. Not that I'm complaining that was a good one. It started with shoving and ending with a kiss.

Abbey made them both think and Aaron realized that all the women he'd been...more

SUMMARY

This book is 16 pages so it is what it is. It’s hard to develop a story in such a short time. The set up is unrealistic. I’m not saying it couldn’t happen or be someone’s fantasy but it was a bit out there. However, once you get passed that, I must say it was pretty hot. So if you’re lo...more

An enjoyable quick, smutty, and slightly unbelievable read.

I think this was my first friends to lovers m-m story and it was enjoyable. There was a strong friendship between the two characters, which made it more believable that they could become lovers. It was a very quick decision though. The sex between Matthew and Aaron was hot, but if this had been a longer story or novella, there could have been some delicious tension. Also, if it was longer, the transformation from friends to lovers would...more

Very short story of two guy friends who come to realize that they have feelings for eachother. With the help of a mutual friend and very recent ex-girlfriend, these two straight friends find not only some very hot sexual release in eachother's arms, but also the start of a lasting, loving relationship once they drop the pretenses and come face to face with what's always been behind their friendship.

This short story packs a lot of heat and I thought it was smoking. Would have loved to have some m...more

Two guys known each other a long time, both straight but suddenly gay for each other after ex girlfriend of one tells them both that's what they really want deep down ? Sorry, but because this is so short a story that premise just doesn't work and the fact that a few hours after they are kissing and making out then, a few days later these two ' straight ' men , who even at the end of the story won't admit they are gay, are having pretty hardcore gay sex, felt too far fetched! Possibly if this ha...more

2.5 stars

Apparently the very last line/paragraph is really homophobic so I would never pay money for this. But the sex is allegedly hot. I already have it so I'll read it the brief 16 pages if it's interesting.

Update 3/24/13

It was a lot less homophobic than I expected. The homophobic comment is there but it's realistic. What makes it bad is that it's in the midst of an incredibly unrealistic story, so it was not necessary and that's why it was very bothersome. This is just basically a GFY/OFY...more

I don't think this really deserves a full two stars, but it's not quite horrible enough to be lumped in with my other one star reviews, so it wins luck of the draw.

The author, as far as I can tell, has no idea how people actually behave in real life. Or how they talk. Especially men. The dialogue is pretty atrociously wooden and ridiculous, the rationales and behavior of the characters are at times confusingly over-exaggerated or bizarre, and the premise is annoyingly cliche. I wanted to throw s...more

A short story of discovery..... Very hot

Aaron and Matthew are best friends, Matthews just been dumped by his girl and is not happy by what she said !

This had a very hot and honest (I imagine) sex scene, so definitely worth the read. :))

I really liked the characthers in this even though it was short got a feel for them. 3.5 stars really could have even longer......

I'd actually give this 1.5 stars.

The writing was mediocre and a little stiff. The two men were so identical that when perspective was switched between them, I couldn't tell the difference. I think my favorite character was Abbey, who never actually appears on screen.

If you want a quick read about two friends who secretly (or not so secretly) love each other and have toss in the bed to "experiment" since they both (previously) thought they were straight (--or maybe bi--), then you may enjoy this...more

I liked the premise and thought it would be a fun gay for you short story. Unfortunately the whole thing was poorly executed. The story was rushed, the characters were one dimensional and the writing wasn’t very good, either. It read more like a very detailed outline for a novella, rather than an actual story. Despite of this, I would've still given it a 3 star, but when one of the heroes (forgot which one) said it was unnatural to love a man, the whole story was ruined for me. What’s the point...more

Let's be honest, I LOVE gay for you stories. This one was pretty short and quick paced but it still worked. I would have given it three stars except for a line at the end of the story where Matthew basically says that (view spoiler)[ being together feels weird and unnatural and he still likes girls. I have no problem with Matthew being bi-sexual and still having an interest in girls but you just had sex with your best friend, who is a male, confessed that you love him and want to be with him, an...more

It was okay. Too short perhaps but I just didn't care much about the characters. I'm glad it was free I would have probably been aggravated if I'd have paid for it. In reference to the part at the end that didn't set well with others, I'm choosing to read it as it was just because they were best friends not because they were both male. That's the good thing about things that annoy, the ability to read them differently so they don't completely piss you off.

Best friends, Aaron and Matthew, need a little manipulating by Matthew's ex-girlfriend to get their to-be relationship started. Once things are out in the open between the two and they admit to themselves and each other what they want though, intimate relations quickly follow.

There was one comment I didn't like at the end of this novella and it should have been rephrased, but other than that, it was an enjoyable friends-to-lovers read.
Jeff
This story is an amazing work. The only thing that kept me from giving it a higher rating was it's lack( in my opinion) of a proper ending.

I usually don't have a problem with HFN (happy for now) endings but this one was just a little TOO HFN, it's more a personal issue but I prefer things to be a bit more solidly complete.

Other than that though I highly recommend this story for people who enjoy friends-to-lovers stories.

Could have been a great deal better than it was. There was a great deal of yelling and resentment between them and when they decide to give it a go they jump immediately into anal-penetration sex. For two adult completely straight men, I would have expected a little bit more in the way of adjustment. Not to mention the fact that by the end [page 15] they were both professing their love to one another and ... well.
Yeah.

Mmmm....no!
Short.
One-dimensional
No depth.
aghh!

Did what's-his-name just ended this so called HEA with something in the lines of 'yeah I like u but I don't want to commit ...oh and I still want other relationships'.
Why does that spell not so HEA for me...

Is it ok to say this book sucks?

It sucked...! The guys sucked! Urgh...I mean characters sucked....aaarrrggghhh! W/e!

I did not like the story...

I really liked this book. It's well-written and one of the most sexually charged books I've read in a long time. I think it's lack of popularity has to do with it being a short story. Yes they get over their issues quick, but that fits with the story. With the ever increasing sexual tension between them who would want to stop and ponder "what could this all mean"? Just strip already!

Aaron is engaged and out of nowhere his future wife tells him that he is in live with his best friend, Matthew. Aaron realizes it's true, and is nervous about losing his friend. However Matthew gets a call from Aaron's ex who tells him that he's in love with Aaron. Good story, however most women wouldn't take it that easily, let alone play matchmaker. WaAR

Don't know if some would consider this Gay for You. I'd call it Wait, I'm Gay? WIG (now that's gay!)

Anywho... A couple of best buddies, friends forever, apparently can't see what one fiancé can, they've got it bad for each other. And they don't know it. So she tells them.

Denial, Kiss, Denial, Sex.

And all is right with the world.
Miss Asima
This was a fairly good story. I liked where she was going with this and wish it had been longer. However if it was longer I'm sure id be complaining about the writing because yes, it did need help. And I'm chosing to ignore the ending because I didn't like it. At all. I did enjoy the chemistry between them though. And the sex scene was pretty hot.
Judith
Would have liked the author to take a few thousand more words to tell the story and develop the relationship a bit more. Some of the character's comments are offensive to some, but they reflect the thought of many, right or wrong. I like this author, but this story was waaaaaaay too short for as good as it started out.

This is my first m/m book and it's very interesting experience. I chose this book because it's short and it's free and I found out that m/m doesn't making me freaking out like I expected. To be fair, I think it's pertty hot. Omg, I am getting bolder! I may ready more of this in the future.

This was an ok story about two guys who have been friends for over 15 years, and their friend (and girlfriend of one) who decides to give them a push towards each other. She breaks up with the one, telling him he is in love with his friend, she tells the other one that he is love with the other. They decide they love each other and have sex to experiment and make sure. I had a hard time believing a lot of what went on in this story.
David
Interesting story of the evolution of love between two friends. Everyone else saw that these two men loved each other deeply they could not admit it.
It was a little confusing at times, I had trouble knowing who was talking at times, Matthew or Aaron.
