You had me, Cat Patrick. You had me for a significant portion of this novel. Then you totally lost me. You did, however, inspire me to read up on short-term memory loss. For those of you wondering what the heck that has to with anything, this book’s main character is a teenage girl who “resets” every morning around 4am. Each night, she writes notes for herself of things she needs to read for school, what she should wear tomorrow, and any developments with family and friends. The entire book kee More...

Forgotten is right in the pocket for the current YA climate. It offers a contemporary storyline with a twist that gives the book a vague supernatural vibe (London can “remember” the future). The sale of Forgotten went down in a heated bidding war and the rights were bought internationally. Already it has been optioned and early reviews report the hype is true ~ to expect originality, a swoony romance and a wild More...

London Lane remembers her future the same way we remember our past. And while the average person doesn't 'remember' their future, London doesn't remember her past. Her memories are of the future, but the moment they become the past, they're forgotten. At precisely 4:33am every morning she forgets the day she's just lived and awakens with only what she sees of the future and her daily notes on what's happened in her life. She has to remind herself of the clothes she wore yesterday, the conversa More...

Forgotten is spellbindingly mind boggling. I was so intrigued with London’s strange life. Cat Patrick certainly created a keeper with her debut novel. It’s so intricately developed, the messages and emotions vividly portrayed that had me living anxiously alongside London, watching as she forgets again and again her yesterday, and then seeing her remember her future. It was such a unique premise, and confusing at times. Kind of like one of those time travel concepts that stretch your mind.

Forgotten, and the sooner, the better.
This book could have been so much better than what is here. The premise is mysterious and the confusion London feels as she tries to make her way with no past memories is well done in the first few chapters. I'm not sure I understand why her teachers wouldn't know about her memory problems. That doesn't make sense or why it has to be such a big secret. Who would care? And that she can "remember the future" didn't really work to me. I underst More...

I had heard of Forgotten and even read some great reviews about it, and to tell you the truth it sounded interesting but I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. Well, after reading it, I can now tell you that I thought it was one of the most clever, intriguing, creative books I have ever read. Like seriously, if this is Cat Patricks debut, I can’t wait to see what she writes next!

All of the characters were well written about and entertaining...especially London. I thought that she was such a More...

Lissa’s Review

It’s the second best book I have read this month alone and it’s the best YA book I have read this month!!

Cat Patrick took me on an unforgettable journey through the eyes of London, a young girl whose memory reset every morning. She has no memory of her past and every memory of the future. Forgotten was so gripping to me literally could not put it down; I laughed, I sighed, I giggled, I cried. The story was a mesmerizing p More...

Forgotten by Cat Patrick..

What an amazing, amazing book! It turned out to be one of those books that I just didn't want to put down and one that I could, and probably will, read again multiple times.
Being Cat Patrick's debut novel, I was allowing myself not expect too much from the novel even though the summary sounded promising right from the start and I had read more than a couple of glowing reviews, I wa More...

Forgotten is a story of girl who has no recollection of her past whatsoever but for some reason of her future. It's clear though from the get - go that knowing the future and not recalling the past has taken its toll on her. For one, she has to make notes every day before she goes to bed to remind herself when she wakes up of what she has to do that very day. The problem with this is that the London who wakes up that very morning may have the notes to remind herself to bring; a chemistry book, w More...

Oh man! how I loved this book!
I won this in The Mockingbirds facebookpage, so I am hugely and eternaly thankful
to Daisy Whitney; without her I wouldn't have been able to read this awesome piece of literature
two moths before it comes out.

So yeah this book was all the things I like:

Romance: the romance in this book is to die for!, kinda like in the movie 50 first dates that
Adam Sandler makes Drew Barrimore fall in love with him all over again every More...

Is it sad that I am giving this 4 star because of the ever so super sweet romance? I am sure if you look up the meaning romantic fool there would be a picture of me next to it.

Enjoyed this book. It was just a light, relaxing read. Full review coming eventually...

Forgotten was a very unique and different read. Even if it’s not technically a paranormal novel, it’s definitely not purely contemporary either, since London has the ability of seeing the future. While it might not have blown me away, it definitely touched me and didn’t keep me from being hooked and staying glued to the pages until the final one was turned.

Imagine not being able to remember anything from your past and instead only remember things around you in t More...

That was truly a great book and a very unique and fantastic idea! London is a girl that can only see her future memories but forgets her past. So when the day is over she forgets what happened.

How can she go to school? Well, she writes notes of her day for her to read in the morning and catch up and to make sure she doesn't forget thinks like bringing a T-shirt for PE. Also she has a best friend Jamie who knows about her special condition and helps her wherever she can.

But, More...

It's slightly difficult for me to rate this fairly, coming as it were after reading two books that burrowed their way into my psyche to the point that the impact hasn't yet faded from my mind.

Forgotten is not that kind of book.

It immediately caught my attention, reminding me of Before I Go to Sleep, in that everything she experiences that day is forgotten (unless it is written in her notes); while adding the new twist of being able to "remember" the future.

The premise More...

This book really annoyed me. I'm not even sure how I managed to talk myself into giving it 2 stars when I have nothing particularly complimentary to say. It was boring, the protagonist pissed me off and it is nowhere near as interesting as the goodreads description would have you believe. I think I didn't give it 1 star because it couldn't even rouse that much passion in me to write a full-blown rant review.

The idea sounds so cool. A girl (London Lane) remembers things that have not More...

London Lane 'remembers forwards, and forgets backwards'.

Loved the concept - combining reality with paranormal elements. LOVE.
The perfect mix that I would like to see more of in the future. I am obsessed almost with the mystery aspect. I didn't guess a thing right! It was perfectly executed and just pure awesomeness.
The writing is very easy, straight to the point and has a very relatable voice.

Having only just completed the awe-inspiring Anna and the French Kiss, it says multitudes that I'm already raving about FORGOTTEN. A June 2011 novel centering on teenager London Lane who has a regrettable memory issue that may seem familiar to those of us who saw the 2004 Adam Sandler comedy, 50 First Dates. You'll be glad to hear, the two are hardly alike as London manages a pretty normal lifestyle considering her memory resets itself at 4:33AM every morning due to a car accident induced coma. More...

Wow, this book is amazing. I cannot believe how well Cat Patrick told this story. This is her debut, and already it's set for worldwide release in June, with a movie on the way! If that doesn't promise a bright writing future for Patrick, then I don't know what is.

Forgotten follows the story of a girl who can remember the future, but her past is a blank. Part mystery, part contemporary romance, part just finding out how you fit in, Forgotten fits the bill.

Let me just say More...

Review posted at Amaterasu Reads

London's brain resets at 4:33 am. Everything she has done for the day, fighting with her mom about the secrets she's been keeping from her about her dad, talking to her bestfriend Jamie, getting hit by a dodge ball in the face, borrowing hideous clothes from a snarky schoolmate, and meeting that one boy who she'll love, she forgets all of them. Whether she likes it or not, the moment her eyes open the next day, she would not remember any of it.

Dudes, how much it would suck not being able to remember anything that you did yesterday? Nothing. Not what you picked out to wear, not what you ate, what you learned in class or the hot guy you talked to, flirted with and perhaps kissed! Forgotten totally boggled my mind and hooked me from page one!

I felt so bad for London! She’s completely likeable and she's just this genuinely happy person even though she has to deal with this miserable brain re-set every. Single. Day. And althoug More...

I didn’t really know what was going on and I kind of liked it that way.

London remembers the future and forgets the past. Every day she wakes up and reads the notes she left the night before. It’s handy as an avoidance technique, but if she doesn’t write it down—or tell one of the two people who know about her memory malfunction—it’s gone. She doesn’t recognize the clothes in her closet and schoolwork requires some additional study. But since she remembers the future, the next day and More...

Huh... I expected something different, I think. Something a little deeper. More artistic. More masterful.

Instead I get another fluffy YA romance. Why is the universe so unfair?

And Forgotten was pretty unbelievable. Despite the two characters, London and Luke, both being fairly likable, their relationship is entirely unbelievable. He takes her out, draws her ear, and then tells her on their first date that he believes they are reincarnated lovers. Not like the characters More...

Every morning at 4:33, the time that London died in a car accident before being saved, her memory is wiped clean. She remembers a few things, but not much. She relies on detailed notes to get her through the day, especially once Luke becomes her boyfriend. To make matters more difficult, London "remembers" the future, so she knows that her friend Jaimie is making bad choices that won't end well. Since she doesn't "remember" Luke in her future, she is confused as to what this More...

After reading the blurb for this book I was intrigued and couldn’t get a copy fast enough. There was so much potential in the plotline I was all psyched up for the possibility of a great read. Unfortunately, I psyched myself up just to be let down. I still think the core of the plotline held a lot of potential; the execution was just a little sloppy and didn’t do it justice.

Maybe its just me, but when I read that her memory was being erased I thought that meant someone or something wa More...

Summary: London Lane is has something unusual about her. Every night at 4:33 am, her memory is erased. She forgets the past, but remembers the future (she has visions of the future). In order to remember things she leaves herself a note to read every morning. Things become complicated when Luke Henry, a gorgeous boy who shows interest in her, enters her life. London starts having flash-forwards of a tragic event and must discover her past in order to figure out the future.

Sometimes, or rather a lot of the times, I hate giving ratings. This would be one of those times.

I read this book in one evening, which means that the writing was good and the story flowed for me, but the story didn't pick up until about pg. 200 or rather, I think it was actually closer to pg. 250. Which, since the book was only 288pgs meant that there wasn't room for too much to actually happen.

The story is about a girl named London, who is a junior in HS and who has a rare More...
