In the simplest words possible....I loved this book!

Seduction of a Highland Lass is the second book of the McCabe trilogy by Maya Banks and while I loved and gave 5 stars to In Bed with a Highlander, this book tops it with its passionately fierce love story.

This is Alaric McCabe’s story. Having not read the blurb for this one before opening it up and reading it, I still thought Alaric’s heroine would be Rionna, McDonald’s warrior daughter as was mentioned in the first b...more

Wowee! I absolute ADORED this book, more so than the first installment. It's so romantic and it definitely tugged at the heart strings and made me grab the tissues on occasion. Alaric and Keeley are just so good together. This book definitely put a big smile on my face. Oh how I love the McCabe warriors *sigh* Now the agonizing wait for Caelen's story.

Maya Banks you've done a wonderful job in creating these beautiful characters, that I've grown to love, for that I thank you.

OMG OMG OMG!!! This book had me crying! I loved these two equally (that rarely happens to me), I loved Keeley so much, she loved Alaric, and more then once puts his needs and the needs of the clan before her own. All she wanted was to belong somewhere, and once she did, she was loyal to her clan.

And Alaric, never expecting to meet someone who captures his heart the way Keeley does before he is to marry someone else. but of course he knows he cannot break off the betrothal. They cannot deny thei...more

A wonderful continuation of the McCabe Trilogy. The second in the series about the three McCabe brothers. The middle brother, Alaric is attacked on his way to the McDonald's clan, where he is to become formally betrothed to Rionna McDonald. Somehow he manages to get on his horse and the horse ends up near Keeley's small cottage. Keeley, an outcast of the McDonald clan, cares for Alaric while his horse goes for help. lol Well, he does. Anyway, Keeley ends up at the McCabe Castle, caring for Alari...more

Betrothed to the daughter of a neighboring clan to strengthen his own clan’s alliance for a coming war, Alaric McCabe is journeying to claim the women he has vowed to marry when he and his men are ambushed. Left for dead, Alaric manages to climb atop his horse and pray that the stallion will take him to safety. What Alaric finds though is an Angel who will put his honor, and his heart, in danger.
Keeley McDonald was outcast from her clan and betrayed by those she trusted most. With a ta...more

As much as I loved In Bed With A Highlander, I was hesitant to start this book. I loved Mairin, Ewan and Crispen.

At the end of In Bed With A Highlander, Alaric agreed to marry Rionna and become Laird of the MacDonald Clan; and that’s fine…but I didn’t want a story set in another place. I wanted spend more time with Mairin, Ewan, Crispen and the rest of the McCabe clan.

So you can imagine my delight when Alaric was injured and forced to recuperate amongst the McCabes!

Even though the book was goo...more

This series just gets better! I love an ‘ injured hero being saved by a heroine’ plot, and this one delivered. But what I really love are romances where the hero and heroine must overcome impossible odds, and that is what made this one such a winner for me. Of course you know these two will get their HEA, but how they will make it work was a huge question! Alaric McCabe is betrothed to the daughter of a neighboring laird, and this vital alliance must be made. The King himself demands the allianc...more

Alaric McCabe is set to marry Rionna McDonald to forge an allegiance strong enough to defeat Duncan Cameron and keep him from gaining the power he covets. On his way to cement this allegiance he and his warriors are stealthily attacked and only Alaric comes alive from it, only he's very badly wounded. His horse drops him at Keely's cottage door.
Keely McDonald was cast from her home and her clan years ago under shame. A warrior badly wounded arrives at her doorstep and Keely refuses to let him di...more

A great addition to the McCabe trilogy! I'm loving the fact that time isn't really passing from book to book...each book is pretty much starting off where the last one ended so it's like reading one huge book!

Really liked Alaric, a lot...and was very surprised to find out who his heroine was considering how things were set up in the first book. This turn of events definitely added to all the angsty and emotional moments and the last 15% was a crusher!!! I can now see why people labeled this one...more

Love, love, love this amazing Highlander series! I didn't think Ms. Banks would be able to top the first book, "In Bed With A Highlander," but she certainly has with "Seduction of a Highland Lass." I simply could not put this book down. I was just as enthralled and as delighted as I was with the first book in this series.

Please, Ms. Banks, stick with this genre for a long, long time. You have nailed it. These books have everything I love about Highlander romances and more. I can't wait for the...more

I read this book in one sitting on the beach last week. And I loved it. My only complaint is that the last few chapters ripped my heart out and I found myself with tears running down my cheeks--and did I mention I was on the beach?

I have liked a lot of Ms. Banks' previous books, but I really think she has a fantastic, fun, captivating historical voice. I'm just glad I don't have to wait too long to read the 3rd one, since the author keeps feeding my habit!

When this book releases this fall, I'l...more

I must say that I don't get the titles of these books... The titles seem cheesy; this one particularly. One could think that there was very much seduction involved, but instead I felt much more love, angst and romance!

Alaric... *sigh*... soo seemingly stern and cold, but inside... ahhhh!!!

That man has a way with aord that made me melt! His love words were so delicious and romantic that I was sighing constantly! He was hot and possessive too! I loved him!!!

Keeley was a dear too! She's sweet, but...more

Another wonderful installment in the McCabe trilogy. I agree with most of the other reviewers that this book was wonderful, and a real page turner, and definitely a tear jerker. Somehow, even though I new there had to be a HEA, I really was starting to think that Keely was going to die, and I couldn't put the book down until I got past that part. I loved this story! Only a couple of things made me want to give this book 4.5 stars instead of 5. One was where he tied her hands together and the way...more

I'm still deciding between 3 and 4. The book was as good as the first one, but that's also why I don't feel like giving it the same rating. Sounds weird, but I can explain.

I liked Alaric and Rhiona from the first book. (view spoiler)[Though I always pictured her better with the third brother, so I'm glad it ended up like that. (hide spoiler)] I liked Keeley, but when she defied Ewan openly in front of his men I was a bit disapointed. She was like Mairin and Alaric was very much the same as E...more

Review:

"Seduction of a Highland Lass" by Maya Banks was just another one of her excellent emotional, hot, sexy romantic reads that only she can produce for us. This was another Scottish historical novels...the second in the McCabe Trilogy where Alaric has been attacked and gets in the hands of an 'Angel or his devil' by the name of Keeley. Keeley was a 'healer' and tends Alaric wounds. Later, A...more

Oh wow I just loved this novel. Banks is one of the best and most origional romance historical fiction novelists I've read so far and I've read quite a few novels that all seemed to be copies of one another. Then I got to Banks' book and I was amazed and amused by her ctting wit and charming characters. I adore how she portrays Keeley McDonald (turned Keeley McCabe *SPOILER SPOILER*) as this sort of self-sufficiant woman who is made into the woman she is by force. Honestly, I'm a bit of a femin...more

4.5 stars.

Great story. I especially loved the romantic conflict element of it. Alaric McCabe is betrothed to marry Rionna MacDonald, the daughter of a neighboring clan so that their clans can unite and go to war with the evil Laird Cameron. But he falls in love with a young healer, Keeley, who has been wrongly outcast from her own clan (the same MacDonalds he is supposed to marry into).

I like that Alaric and Keeley are madly in love and simply can't have each other for reasons that are very muc...more

I loved, loved, loved this book! Great mix of romantic love, angst and small injections of humour throughout. Definately better than the first book in this series, although you really do need to read the first book to understand the politics at work in this novel. This novel picks up right where the last book ended.

Whatever words I put here won't do the book justice but let's just say that Maya Banks did an amazing job. As a reader I felt all the emotions Alaric and Keeley were experiencing thro...more

After so many rave reviews I really expected a lot more from the book, unfortunately it fell flat... VERY flat. I will say, I did not read the first book in the trilogy and just started with the second book. I don't know if I would have enjoyed the book more feeling as though I knew the other characters better... but I'm going to venture and say I would not. I guess for me the biggest problem was the whole love at first sight connection they had. I mean, he was injured and going in and out of co...more

Seduction of a Highland Lass: 5 Star book that everyone should read, amazing

Unfortunately, I have a problem. I am no where near good enough to be writing a review for such a perfect book. I mean, seriously, I am unworthy. Here are some facts

1. I've only actually reread about a dozen or so novels. I don't generally reread
2. I don't do series, and not back to back. There are some exceptions like Kresley Cole. And while i do read books in series, I usually never complete series.
Whelp, this book...more

I've read quite a few romances over the years. Most are good at letting the reader escape mundane reality for a while and rarely have anything in common with real life. Alpha type men just don't exist like they do in these stories and the women, nope, not them either. But they are fun so I decided to give it a try. And I'm so glad I did.
I can count on one hand the number of books that have moved me to physical response. This book made me cry! Literally, and not because it was that bad, no way....more

Redonk Nutshell: Forbidden attracting ensues after a Highlander falls in love with the woman who nurses him from a near mortal wound

Book two in Maya Banks' McCabe trilogy. Alaric McCabe is on his way to the neighboring clan to court his politically matched fiancee. He's waylaid when an attack along the journey nearly kills him. When Keeley McDonald finds a half dead warrior at her door she quickly takes him in and works to nurse him back to health. Keeley is a trained healer who lives on her own...more

Wowsers!

I loved this book even more than the first book in the series, In Bed with a Highlander. The love story between Keeley and Alaric was endearing and made me teary-eyed a couple of times. As in the first book, I felt like reading one of those old-school romances from the 80s - men are real men here and women feisty but definitely feminine. I really like the wildness of the Highland men and the medieval atmosphere. The meetings between the lovers have a bittersweet taste to them because th...more

WOW. JUST WOW.

This book has reduced me to an emotional mess and I say that as a compliment.

Alaric and Keeley are just two special characters. Their story is somewhat bittersweet and so very satisfying in the end.

Alaric was to be wed to a neighboring clan for alliance purpose when he was suddenly injured and cared for by Keeley. He grew quite attached to her and was attracted to her from start to finish. Keeley on the other hand, is a woman who's shunned by others because of a lie. Of course...more

Okay, I honestly don't even know where to begin because my emotions are still all over the place. I feel like this turned into me fangirling over this book, but I honestly don't care at this point because this book was amazing.

I've never been a fan of historical romance, at all. At least I never gave it much of a chance besides some young adult books I enjoyed, but beyond that my romance leaned heavily towards contemporary. I'm honestly glad Maya Banks and her highlander/scots stories were my f...more
