A Vampire's Salvation is short, sweet and very hot. This novella has danger, a hot alpha vampire and some hot sex. You get some bondage and mention of anal. One thing I loved there's mention of Cruelty free products; I am a freak about this, so it thrilled me to read it.

Frankie is one tuff sharp dressing lady. She had a bad experience with her first relationship and the scar on her face to prove it. There is a hunk she works with named Jake that has caught her eye. With her fantasy running wild

Frankie has been eyeing Jake Rios, her boss's head of security for months now. There's something about him that draws her. When he catches her nearly drooling, he decides it's time to make his move. He's been waiting for the right time...which is when she can't wait any longer.

Jake is a vampire and she is his mate.

I enjoyed how Ms. DePaul mixed well-known vampire mythology into her story and made it her own.

This was a steaming HOT novella with enough plot and mystery to keep me interested. Ther

The format of novellas or short stories does not help authors who want to pack plot, characters, world-building in a few chapters.

Ms DePaul couldn't convince me to care about this erotic novella (that seems to me clearly a prequel to a new series).

Characters were simply unbelievable. The heroine was supposed to be this emotionally fragile survivor who for most of her adult life stayed away from men. But she had no problems in having sex and donating blood to a vamp. Vamp as in vampire, somethi

Frankie is known as the Midas Touch because everything she does she puts her heart and soul in it and they usually come to plan. She has had a hard time in the love department and still carries the scar she got at seventeen when she was kidnapped. Now someone says she owes them and is going to hurt the people she loves if she doesn't make sure that Jake stops what he wants to do.

A Vampire’s Salvation by Virna DePaul

This novel got to me in several ways. First and foremost is how Francesca is depicted as a heroine who is very steadfast in her resolution to keep away from men (yup, this was another one of those novels where the heroine has been burned before, and as such, chaste for all her adult life, while the hero for whom she breaks the chastity, enjoys women’s bodies extensively) but the moment she sees the hero, she is eager to have him. So anyways

This is an author I will be coming back for more of her stories - AVS was very sexy with great characters and a seductive plot. Love her style of writing and the imagery her voice creates makes you not want to put the book down.

If you like JR Ward, Lora Leigh, Christine Feehan - this is a story for you.

Virna DePaul also writes great suspense stories so check out her entire library.

A VAMPIRE'S SALVATION introduces us to a new modern world of vampires: their traditions, their needs, and their desire to be accepted in mainstream society.

Jake Rios, vampire, gets a job as night bodyguard to the governor of California in hopes of forming a relationship with the powerful politician. If Jake can gain the governor's trust, he can ask the governor to support his idea of vampire integration. What Jake wasn't expecting was to find his mate, Frankie, an environmentalist working on the

I'm not fond of novellas that were obviously written to set up a larger story. They're short on character development and plot and typically leave more questions than answers, either of the excited "what will happen next?" variety or, more often, of the perplexed "huh?" variety. This was the latter.

Frankie is a fundraiser who supposedly has the Midas touch. She's supposed to appear competent and put-together. But all it takes is for Jake, a vampire, to
Frankie is drawn to Jake Rios. She has been fantasying about him ever since she first saw him. She has given her heart only once and it had devastating result, so she isn’t looking for any kind of relationship...just something physical.

Jake Rios is a vampire that has search the world for his perfect mate. He has discovered her and now intends to claim her. Slowly planning his seduction, Jake knows it will all be worth it. Now he just has to convince Francesca (Frankie) Stewart.

A Vampire's Salvation by Virna DePaul was a quick read filled with a sweet, hot romance and lots of intrigue that kept the plot moving and me interested. Once again, DePaul shows her prowess as a writer by creating in the moment relationships with real to life characters that draw the reader in. In short, this is a wonderful novella perfectly concocted for paranormal romance lovers to sink their teeth into.

One thing that I simply love about this w

Great read for a quickie vampire fix! *wink*

This was a great read; short, fun, and very sexy! After reading This Magic Moment, I was very excited to read more by Virna DePaul, and I was not disappointed with A Vampire's Salvation. Starts off with a mysterious vampire stalking Frankie Stewart with what seems like creepy infatuation but turns out to be sinister motives. Jack Rios has found his mate in Frankie and vows to claim her and protect her. Because AVS is a novella (I wanted a lot more!), t

Frankie Stewart works for the state governor. She's been lusting after Jake Rios head of the governors security detail for the past 6 months. He's tall 6' 4" broad shouldered but not typically handsome, his face is all harsh lines. But he possesses a compelling personality.
Jakes is very aware of Frankie, from the first time he met her he wanted her, but he's a vampire and has been biding his time not wanting to rush the situation and have a Frankie run from him.

A sizzling hot vampire romance. Why only 4 stars, you ask ? Maybe it was my fault, but it was not exactly what I was expecting; I would have liked a bit more adventure than all the sex. It's very, very short; maybe a bit too short; the author could have added a bit more in the adventure part. But it's extremely well written. If you're looking for a short, very hot, very sexy paranormal romance, this is is ideal.

I'm not even sure where to begin with this one. It reminded me of the True Blood series on HBO but a lot cheesier. One thing it had going for it was it was a short novella thank god, because if it were any longer I probably wouldn't have finished it. The sex was not bad, the plot was OK, but I kept picturing Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton as apposed to what's her face and Jake. Oh well, cant win them all.

The idea of a vampire's mate is a little strange. Shifters have mates not vamps, but I am not judging because I like possessive males as my leading male. Jake's request could be a prequel to True Blood.

The book was satisfying but after I learnt that this is the first book (the end is a little chiffy and I put two and two together) I was a little disappointed and felt let down. I will read the second book of course as soon as possible with the hope that there will not be one with the same main ch

I must say that this is my first Erotic read, so if this is not your cup of tea, then this would definitely not be the book for you!

Vampires always seem to be drawn to power, and this is one of the current books connecting vampires to American politics. Frankie Stewart is a hardworking woman who raises funds for the Governor of California's re-election campaign, passionately committed to green causes. She's so focused that she doesn't date and only security man Jake Rios has been at the centre of any fantasies for some time. Jake, if she only knew it, is two centuries old, and fast approaching the time to pick a mate.

Fangs, steamy sex, blood, life mate, a heroine with inner strength and a hero with yummy body and a voice that could make a granny drop her panties! This story has it all! This was good. I read it earlier this week when I needed to take a break from writing.

The author put a lot of great descriptions in there.

The romance and sex was yummy but not over done or pornographic.

It was short, sweet, and enjoyable.

I don't know if I will read the next one, but I would sleep with the main ale character.

This is a steamy, hot yet fast read. I am only giving this book a 3 stars because I found that there was too much to explore in this book for it to be a novella. I love the concept of the vampire's walking among everyone else. Jake is looking for his soul mate and found it in Frankie. Jake being the alpha-male and Frankie on the mend from a really horrible experience as a teen, they really did make a good pair. I

The best thing to be said for any book is that you can't wait for the next one....and that is how I feel. This is on my to read again book shelf.
I have enjoyed a few of this authors other novels, like her SIG series but I’m not a big fan of this one. I love vampire romance and while this one is a bit different, which is usually good, I just didn’t enjoy it that much. The story was ok but it just didn’t do it for me and Iiked the characters well enough but Frankie got on my nerves a lot of the time. She changed moods so fast I couldn’t keep up with her. I received this book as an e-ARC free from Netgalley. Below is my review.

I think there was just too much going on in this novella to really make it a cohesive story. There is the central romance, some vampire hating people and some vampire hating vampires, a threat to the heroine, a lot of vampire/human politics and multiple threads that weren't cleaned up in preparation for a second book that I haven't even heard is coming out.

The central romance felt shortchanged. Frankie and Jake don't reall

I could tell this was going to be a hot read from the first chapter when Frankie was fantasising about Jake–Steamy!–and I wasn’t wrong.

You get to see from both Frankie’s and Jake’s POV, which is an advantage when Jake is described as being a serious, moody guy by Frankie. But then seeing from Jake’s POV just why he’s behaving like that balances it out and it switches between every so often.

The first sex scene between the pair took up

I have been reading some really great stuff this past week, however, this is not in that category. I haven't read anything by this author prior to this and I know much of my opinion is dues to how rushed it felt in its short format. The best part of the story was the development of the main characters, who are interesting, and the emotional content of the sex was fair. But I found the plot, even as a set-up, ridiculous and the language was filled with hyperbole. Frankie Stewart's acceptance of h ...more
