This is a continuation of two of the main characters in the author's previous regency romance: The Marriage list. Our heroine, Lady Iona, is the perfectly raised daughter of a Duke. Everything about her speaks of total propriety. However, her father has arranged a marriage to one of her well-bred cousins but she does not love him. Instead she wishes to study sculpture and not marry at all. Enter the hero Lord Nathan, who in the past year has descended into the depths as a notorious rogue and wom...more
I downloaded Lady Iona's Rebellion free from Amazon a couple of days ago, and it's the story of Lord Nathan, who has a very bad reputation, and Lady Iona, who is the perfect lady. Nathan's plan is to win Iona's heart, and that way earn a better reputation and his family's respect, but Iona wants the exact opposite, she wants passion and freedom.
It's a game where none of them are going to win. Nathan wants to protect her, even from himself, and Iona is starting to fall in love with him, but is he...more

Lady Iona is your typical obedient daughter, she has a reputation in society as someone who can always be relied upon to behave properly and never put a foot wrong. She is the middle child, and as such has always felt overshadowed by her married older sister and her beautiful younger sister. She has been on the marriage mart for 6 years, and her parents are getting anxious for her to find a husband; they decide to marry her off to her cousin, who is destined to take over the family estate due to...more
This was a cute tale of a "proper" Duke's daughter trying to find her independence in Regency England -- and of course, choosing to do so by finding a wicked rake to "tutor" her in scanadalous ways.
Despite this trope having been done nearly to death in historical romance, I still enjoyed it. Iona wasn't QUITE as stupid about her escapades as many heroines in similar situations (though really, the whole gambling thing with the mustache made me shake my head), and Nathan actually managed to redee...more

Lord Nathan Wynter is a romance novel hero you'll never forget, and not simply because of his physical endowments. He is selfless, falsely accused (willingly so), and conflicted. The sexual tension between Nathan and Lady Iona is palpable. They struggle to come to terms with who they really are deep down, and what they mean to each other. The author keeps us guessing until the last page as she immerses us in the town of Bath in the Regency era with beautiful descriptions of costume and setting....more

This book took me a little longer to read through than a normal historical romance. The pace wasn't the quickest, but I still very much enjoyed the read.
Lady Iona's Rebellion has a great premise and great character's, too. It has a nice balance of action and seduction.
I look forward to reading more by Dorothy McFalls.

2.5-3 stars. I'm normally a Sifi/pnr fan but I've been giving Historical Romances a chance. The story was cute a bit slow with medium drama. Part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
Iona seeks out Nathan because she is tired of her boring life. Nathan tries to rein her in but Iona is determined to act out girls gone wild 1800's version. They each try to use each other for their own personal gain. In the end they fall in love and Iona realizes that she can still be her own person and be...more
