The Librarian
I was weeding the 300's when I came across this book. The title caught my attention and the photographs drew me in. Only a few of the photos feature any of the employees of the brothels. The focus is on the physical surroundings these women work in (or worked as some of the brothels are closed now), which often looked as if they had been decorated by twelve year old girls .. or perhaps what someone imagined a twelve year old would like, as I have a feeling many of the "girls" had little to no ch ...more

Alexa Albert, M.D., is a graduate of Brown University and Harvard Medical School. She has written and lectured widely on issue of public health and prostitution and was named on of Mirabella's 1,000 Women for the Nineties for her work with Nevada's legal prostitutes. She currently lives in Seattle.
